  • Grateful product just not thrilled about the attachment holder
Spectacular product. The only thing is the holder for the attachments is directly under the exhaust and getting all the attachments to stay in only 4 slots is a bit tricky otherwise cant beat it as its ShopVac brand name

  • Vacuum works as expected.
This shop vac has excellent suction power and capacity. The noise level is pretty high. We use it to clean out our pellet stove periodically and it works great and it is easy to discard dirt.

  • Just So You Know About the Attachments
The long slender attachment doesn't work well on flooring. It isn't angled right and holds to the spot when someone is trying to glide it across the floor. Other similar attachments of Shop Vac work fine as my old one did but this one doesn't. The crevice attachment and the chunky floor attachment work well and can be used to get the same results instead of using the longer slender attachment for floors. ... show more

  • Good vacuum but with limits...read on!
I bought this ShopVac with the intent of vacuuming up powdery diatomaceous earth from my house and to clean the basement, sparing my real vacuum motor. I have used it just a few times but I can echo some of the the other reviewer's thoughts: - Assembly: Some of it is just intuitive, like where to attach the handles. However, the holes in the handles are too small and it took way more trouble than it should have to screw in 2 screws! The black foam sleeve that goes over the housing under the paper, dry filter goes on easily. However, putting the dry filter over it? Not easy. Cumbersome. In fact that's how I would describe the assembly process: Cumbersome, needlessly so. And do not feel like the instructions will help you much. They have combined the instructions for different models making it difficult to know how to follow them....plus pictures are awful. Seriously poorly done. - Use: I think the suction is good. The wheels are great and it moves around quickly without effort on the floor. The hose is long and the extension handles fit well together. I really needed an attachment for the area rugs especially because the need for removal of diatomaceous earth which is a powder. So I used duct tape on the distal end of the last handle extension to increase the diameter so I could attach the carpet attachment from my other vacuum which uses air to drive it. (Great Vac backpack vacuum, which I love). This works great!!! The other Shop Vac attachments are perfectly fine but the floor attachment is just rudimentary hard plastic so I don't think I'll use on my hard wood floors. - Logistics: The cord is RIDICULOUSLY too short. Seriously, I would like someone to explain why. So a power cord is essential. The tool holder is a terrible design which is poorly placed and falls off easily with use. I think I will discard. As instructed, I am using the bag which came with it along with the filter because of the powder and its risk of ruining the motor. So I think once you understand its limitations especially with assembly, then I think it's a good purchase...but they make you work for it... ... show more

  • Wow! So much power for a cheap price.
I bought this sprecifically to deal with a dog hair issue and it is working great. Vacuum seems sturdy with great suction. I hae vacuumed my whole house now 3 times nad just got done vacuuming my 2 dogs with a pet vroomer and it still has lots of suction power. Here is the review I wrote for the pet grooming since it is the real reason for me buying this. I love this thing! I have 3 dogs. A 103 lb. Great Pyrenees (20 lbs hair), a minuture Australian Shepard (50% hair) and Terrier mix (he has short course hair. Yes I think I am crazy too and all of the hair bout had me in a straight jacket. I attached this to a ShopVac I also bought on Amazon and I sucked the loose hair off my two fluffy dogs like a girlfriend in heat! I have been trying everything to find a solution to all of this hair problem and I have finally done it. The shedding comb pulled out all of the extra hair time after time. Once the comb gets full you push a button that turns the teeth toward the hose and the vacuum sucks ti right in. The upholstery comb worked so much better that the original vacuum tool because it has plastic nubs with open sections between the nubs, that grab the hair but the vacuum suction doesn't cause it to "stick" to the cushions. I am truly giddy with how well this works. I also suggest the Shop Vac too because with this tool and the ShopVac I spent $80. My son spent $2500 on a Rainbow and my setup works just as well and I can use this tool to actually comb the hair away before it gets on the floors now. PS with the below ShopVac I did not have to use the hose or adapter that came with this groomer kit so it had a great seal and stayed on. • Basic design issues - more of a light duty vaccuum than a shop/garage product
Pros: -Good suction -Lightweight Cons: -Cord is 5' long and hose is around 6'. Which means that if you have a 2-car garage (24' wide), it will not reach the middle of the garage 12') for cleaning. An extension cord is required for basic use, which is absurd for a shop-vac. -Hose is "jammed" into the suction hole and is held by friction only. Only a matter of time until it fails. A screw-in hose would have been the basic expectation from a shop-vac. ... show more
