I have a golden retriever, and I she'd like one too. Every vacuum I've had before I have to cut hair off the brush roll every 1-2 uses. I only clean this one once a month at most! Plus it's super easy to get in to clean the brush roll. Pros: The tank capacity is good and it empties easily. The suction is great! Brush roll doesn't get wrapped easily. Bright light helps show dirt and cobwebs you might have missed. Cons: It is a bit heavy and not the easiest to maneuver. The cord is also a bit short. I gave five stars because it's the best vacuum I've ever had and the price was very reasonable! ... show more

    • Great vac with minor flaws.
Great vac!! Lots of suction, very long cord and it cleans carpet and bare floors extremely well. Easy to change suction power and the hose is pretty long, too. Filters are cheap and easy to change. Only 3 issues I have with it. The 1st - the function and power buttons should be swapped so the power button is on the left side. The 2nd issue is that it does not come with a dusting brush. I use a dusting brush a lot for cleaning baseboards and you have to call Shark and order that separately from them for around 20 bucks. The 3rd issue is that it does not pick up well along the edges of rooms or along walls. It leaves about an inch of space unvacuumed. You just need the wand and an attachment for that little area by walls or room edges or along furniture. The included upholstery brush and other attachments work very well. Dust cup holds a lot before needing emptied. Very long cord! I am glad we bought it and I highly recommend it! ... show more

I absolutely LOVE this vacuum! We just bought a new house in October and it’s got some rugs so I went in search of a vacuum that I could use on both carpet, hardwood, fairly lightweight and of course with two dogs it needed to handle a lot of use with excellent suction for clean up. Look no further!!! The rugs were vacuumed before we moved in but needed a good vac before we actually moved in, just me I needed to do it myself LOL I ordered it so it would arrive by our first day here with a day or two before the moving truck came: I can not say enough about the great suction power and the rollers do picking up dirt. Not just surface but deep down. I could not believe how much was left in carpet that the previous vac didn’t pick up. I actually went over all the rugs twice and my guess is no one has had a vac on these carpets that has the power that this one does. I love the easy release wand and the quick release canister to carry if need be. I do wish it was just a little more lightweight but it’s manageable. I read reviews on at least 8 vacuums, ALL the reviews good and bad. I’m always slightly confused when a product gets such a crappy review but others give it good ones. I’ve had this vac for 2 months now, I purposely waited to write a review until I used all the functions and it got a workout, a big workout! Now I’m even more confused by the bad reviews because I have never had a vacuum that I’ve been so happy with: Read the directions, know that the rollers don't go on until you release the handle down. Read what the position of the button on top for floor and rug is, light on is for carpet. I think people are confusing which function works with the light on and off. Granted sometimes there is a problem with a product but everything can’t be 100% all the time but so haven’t had one bad experience with mine. ... show more

This is one of those vacuums that you don't use everyday, maybe once a week. Well, unless you want some ripped forearms and a torn rotator cuff because this is one heavy machine. Not so heavy that you can't bring it up and down stairs but you'll be breaking a sweat if you have a medium to large size house, and forget about summer time. But with that weight comes some serious suction power. It picks up a lot of dirt even with just one stroke across each section of the carpet. The dustbin is also huge so no need to empty it in between rooms. It has a 30 foot cord that is very handy, maybe a bit unwieldy. It came with 3 attachments - an edge sucker, upholstery thing, and a wind-powered brush - all work reasonably well. The entire system of the lift-away is nifty and fairly straightforward once you understand how it works. Overall, it's an amazing machine perfect for keeping the house as clean as it can get. I wish it were even a couple pounds lighter to make the maneuverability better but it's not a deal breaker. Compared to Dyson, which I also own, it has great power to cost ratio making it an easy recommendation for those who are clean freaks but not wealthy. ... show more

Ok so this is the FOURTH Shark Vacuum I've purchased this month in an attempt to replace my 5 y/o Rotator Pro. And I think I finally got it right. Not only is it beautiful but it works like a dream. Excellent suction, the buttons are simple and intuitive, it has front headlights on both bare floor and carpet setting(a necessary feature that I don't know why some models don't have), and excellent attachment options. The double brush roller is brilliant, the front soft one dusting on bare floor setting. Both rollers are engaged on both settings, just fuller power on carpet setting. The suction is high enough that it doesn't throw dirt around on bare floor setting with the rollers engaged. Cord length is normal, 25 ft. Canister size is average. It is a few lbs heavier than my last model and you can tell while pushing it around, but it also makes it feel sturdier and higher quality, like it may actually stand the test of time. Some reviews make this seem like a make-or-break factor, but unless you're toting it up and down stairs daily, I don't see it as an issue. It is easy to maneuver and the wand release & lift-away options are quick and fluid. Definitely a high-end Shark to keep your eye on, I would recommend this vacuum. ... show more
