  • Suggestions in the Best cleaning w/streamer
Style: Steam & Scrub
I thought I should write a review and give my suggestions in getting the most effective cleaning from this amazing steamer. I have read some of the other reviews to give my advice on several things they haven’t been happy about. I’m a professional cleaning lady and have used this particular model for many years. And the absolutely LOVE IT!! I wear them out because I work them hard at least 5 days out of the week cleaning 2 or 3 homes each day. I buy one every few years. They are durable and they don’t make loud noises. The cord length is average but I do put a heavy duty extension cord on mine so I’m not constantly stopping to plug it in another outlet. No issues in doing that. Though it’s not completely necessary to use a spray bottle to mist a little more water onto the regular white pads I do, plus the pledge multiple purpose cleaner that’s in the can. Does help it out tremendously plus it gives a nice fragrance while you’re cleaning the floors. My customers love it and can tell the difference when I do this extra step that takes little extra time. If your tile floors have a smooth shiny surfaces then you may see the swirls of the motion of the pads so I suggest using a flat mop behind an every small section once you steam it. It’s not really a waste of time doing that because it makes your floors more beautiful and cleaner plus flat mop can get areas that the steamer cannot. For the rougher tile surfaces that are more stony you can sloppy mop an area and take the streamer behind it or I buy the shaggy grey pads that can only be purchased at Home Depot. I dip those pads into my spin mop bucket hot water using Zep natural floor cleaner solution (Amazon does have this product normally) I put it in the spinner and use my spin mop to spin the pads out some. It it does the best cleaning your floors have ever had!!! Sounds like a lot of work but this type of cleaning stays nicer long plus you don’t have to do it like this every time but once a month or 2 depending on the traffic in your home but as a professional I do it to give my clients a more excellent cleaning. **Please not do not put shaggy grey pads in the dryer because it seems to ruin the plastic pieces to attach to the steamer. I never have a problem with the machine leaking at all. And it’s portable to take it with you easily. Oh another awesome feature you can buy scrub brushes to attach to your steamer. (Available on Amazon only) It is best to wet a small area at a time with a sloppy mop then scrub away. Then mop back over it and use a flat mop if necessary. Depends on your floor type. I also use this in the big walk in showers to scrub the floors only. Once again spray the cleaners of your choice on the shower floor and use a cup of water to give the machine something more to work with. Generally you usually can do a big reach to the other side without cord touching. USE WITH CAUTION OF COURSE. As I’m aging getting on my hands and knees to scrub bathroom floors is too difficult but why do it if you can use the machine?? Save your hands. If that’s too scary for you to do that use a car washing brush instead. ... show more

  • No More Professional Tile Cleaners & VOCs No More Professional Tile Cleaners & VOCs
Style: Steam & Scrub
I’ve used the Shark Steam & Scrub about one month. For its size and price, I am pleasantly surprised by well it cleans ceramic tile floors. For over 10 years I relied on professional tile and grout cleaners. The first company did an excellent job, but quality has declined over the years. My search for a tile and grout cleaner led me to steam cleaners. The shark was highly rated by a leading consumer magazine. If it cleaned my kitchen tile and grout that accumulates a greasy film most chemical tile cleaners cannot remove than cleaning high traffic area tiles should be simplicity itself. The Shark cleaned both. It took a little time and effort even on deep clean to clean the kitchen tile, but it has been 11 months since I had the area professionally cleaned. Now that the kitchen tile is clean, monthly clean should keep it looking like new. With steam cleaning there are no volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Some tile cleaning services use high pressure to apply the cleaning solution filling the house with VOCs. They may not be toxic but filling the house with the fumes causes difficulty breathing until it settles out of the air. It took about an hour and six reservoirs of distilled water to clean about 1,000 square feet (93 sq meters) of tile. The unit produces steam in about 30 seconds. Cleaning time is about 15 minutes on Normal and 12 minutes on deep. Cleaning 1,000 square feet of tile used about a half-gallon (2L) of distilled water. I used clean pads with each water refill. If you haven’t had your floors professional cleaned the pads become soiled quickly and should be changed with each refill of water. I vacuumed the entire before steam cleaning. The photo shows how the pads looked after using a reservoir of water. Machine washing the pads removes the soil. I allowed them to air dry. My concern about the one-handed handle was unfounded. It is very comfortable and maneuvering the cleaner was effortless. Another concern is the life of this cleaner’s Velcro pad attachment. The pads can be replaced, but the Velcro on the machine cannot. For occasional home use, it may be a moot point. For the price, it is a fractional of the cost of professional cleaning and paid for itself after the first use. Unlike the minimum fees charge by professional tile cleaners, the Shark small and large areas as needed. ... show more

  • Powerful clean in a lightweight package
Style: Steam & Scrub
I live in Florida where tile floors are common. My whole first floor is tile. I had been mopping with a mop and bucket for years but decided to buy this steam mop to make my life easier. Money well spent. Two rotating heads scrub while steam cleans your floors. It's lightweight, lighter than a vacuum, and fairly easy to maneuver. Cord is decently long so you can keep working without too many stops. The heads are not too big so you can get into some tighter spaces, and the body is smallish so you can get under some furniture. Not very loud, much quieter than a vacuum. Things to be aware of: It produces steam, so mind your feet as you work, trust me it's hot! It only takes distilled water - you may be tempted to use tap water or add soap to the water but this will corrode the heating elements, don't do it. Make sure the scrub pads are put on centered or it wobbles as it runs. Pros: Lightweight, easy to use, cleans wonderfully. Scrub pads are soft so you can run it up against furniture or baseboards without damage. Pads are machine washable. Has lights on the front to help you see (tho they aren't very strong). Cons: Only takes distilled water. Heads are round, so it can't really clean corners. Reservoir is kind of small so if you're doing large spaces you have to refill it often (but it does come with a nice refill cup). Fully recommended. I think it would be especially useful to those with small kids (always playing on the floor!) and/or pets (dirty paws, anyone?). ... show more

  • My shark stub and steam mop😊
Style: Steam & Scrub
I have always been a big fan of shark steam mops but this one takes the cake. It cuts down by half the time it takes you to clean the floor. Love this. And would buy this again.

  • Game changer
Style: Steam & Scrub
I bought this for my new ceramic tile flooring, which I put throughout the entire house. This baby is a game changer! No more stooping and sweating away as I push around my (quite wonderful) o’Cedar mop with the spinning bucket attachment. I reserve the o’Cedar mop system for my engineered wood floors now and it is terrific but requires a lot of elbow grease and back work. This steamer only needs water (distilled only) and a few fresh steamer mop heads and off I go. The steamer practically drives itself and I really don’t feel hot at all pushing it, even though the water gets steaming hot. Water receptacle could be bigger but ahhh, so what? Right when the water runs out, I always want to GENTLY remove the pads without burning myself (DO NOT TIP MACHINE UPSIDE DOWN! BURN HAZARD!) I check the pads to see if they’re really dirty and therefore need swapping out. I have a stack of extra mop pads handy and I swap out when they look really dirty. Then into the wash they all go (alone, with no other items), then I line dry them and put them away for the next time. My floors are softly glowing now and our feet and socks stay nice and clean! I’m saving on floor washing liquid. This uses NO cleaning products! Big win! Just distilled water and steam. I am delighted with this purchase and I find I am more than happy to steam my floors, whereas I always sort of dread mopping my engineered wood floors, which always ends in a sore, stiff back. This is a terrific cleaning machine. We are delighted with it. Enjoy! ... show more

  • Does not have the cleaning power of Shark Genie
Style: Steam & Scrub
I have had this steamer for 9 months and use it for the kitchen, bathroom and laundry room every two weeks. I had the Shark Genie model for 4 years and decided to treat myself to an upgrade. When I first got this steamer, I was so over the moon excited. First, it warmed up and was ready to go in about 20 seconds compared to the 3 minutes I had to wait. Second, in order to clean the kitchen/eating area (open floor plan house), I would have to refill the reservoir 3 times to do the area compared to the one time with this steamer. Next, it moves automatically. I only had to barely guide it and I had hit the entire kitchen/eating area using one set of pads. What I strongly dislike about this steamer compared to the Shark Genie... First, there is no power steam for tough spots (I have a dog that leaves drops of her food on the floor that sticks). Next, it is circular pads that rotate so everytime I try to get close to the wall, it bounces around like bumper cars. With it being circular instead of square, the is no way I can get close to the corners. Finally, with the Shark Genie, I would use both sides of the pads and go through two sets per cleaning. With this steamer, I do the whole floor with one set and they barely have a dirty looking pad. The high rotation, which is supposed to do the scrubbing for me does not clean anywhere close to the Shark Genie. Unfortunately I gave my still perfect Genie to a family member and I am not willing to reinvest in a new steamer. So how do I clean my floors you might ask? So. I go through one time to get the very light surface dirt. I change the pads. Then I take a blue Scotch scrubber and literally scrub to get what looks like dirt stains, dog food and dog spit. Then I got over a second time with a new set of pads. I wouldn't "eat off the floor" but it is good enough... I guess Though I am not as sore with the back and forth motion with the square mop, I would much prefer to get a mild workout and have clean floors. But that is my opinion. ... show more
