I’ve been eyeing a steam cleaner for months now. I specifically was debating on buying the little white box one all over tik tok. I decided to wait until Black Friday to make my final decision and I really wasn’t happy with the discount they were offering for it. I decided I was going to compare to other steamers on Amazon. AND BOY AM I GLAD I DID! This baby was WORTH IT! This WaitBird was nearly half off on Black Friday. It’s already $70 bucks cheaper than the white box brand at regular price. I was initially hesitant of buying the WaitBird because there wasn’t a bunch of video reviews on “clean-tok”. I’m sure there will be now! Let me set the scene for you. We just moved into an older and not remodeled home. We are planning to remodel sometime next year and didn’t want to spend a bunch of money quite yet. The prior owner had been developing dementia and owned some dogs. Well, they didn’t always make it outside to potty. Hence the hard to remove stains… We also have 3 dogs who have tracked in quite a bit of dirt and mud from outside. Our house came with a carpet shampooer and it has not done much to the stains or the dinginess in the carpets. So on to the actual review of the WaitBird! There are many attachments for the steamer. I have currently only used the floor attachment but can’t wait to use it on the old appliances and windows. The floor attachment can be used with any microfiber cloth but does come with 2 in the box. The clips on the floor attachment were fantastic. I was afraid they would fall off but nope! The cloth stayed on the entire time! I did cleaned the 3 of the dirtiest carpeted rooms in our house (~1,000 sq ft) in 6 hours. I did put some hard work into the floors and was not an easy chore. I also cleaned the parquet in the hallway which it did fantastic on. I probably filled up the tank 10-12 times. I had the steam on the highest setting and it ran about 30 to 35 mins each time. It only took 5 mins to warm up each time and I wish it took longer as that’s when I took my “union breaks”. The unit itself is compact and easy to store! It is lightweight and easy to maneuver. I find the look of it to be retro and simply adorable. Yellow is not my favorite color; however, we decided to name ours Sunshine for fun :) Overall, definitely worth the money! I don’t believe it was made to be professional grade but it does the Lord’s work. We plan to use it on the old appliances left with the house, the windows, and I read that it could possibly help with removing the ungodly amount of wallpaper in the house! I also read that steamers are better to use when sterilizing than using chemicals (aka kids school germs). I’ll update as I use on more things. Enjoy the before and after pictures. I didn’t feel the need to label the pictures with before or after since there was such a drastic difference. My best advice is JUST BUY IT!

The Waitbird steam cleaner is an amazing multipurpose steamer with so many different uses. I researched different steamers for 2 months and finally went with purchasing this one because of the reviews and affordable price. One of the biggest reasons that I purchased this steamer was for the quality of the product and the adjustable output strength option to enhance the use for what I am cleaning without damaging the surface. I found that many other steamers did not have the same adjustable feature and ease of use; and this is an excellent feature to allow you to clean different surfaces from tile, to furniture to car upholstery. I have used the Waitbird to deep clean my showers taking away heavy dirt build up and it works amazing. I love that I don’t have to use any chemicals and the results are incredible. I have saved so much money not having to buy expensive cleaners. It’s also very effective when cleaning my car upholstery and carpets after the kids bring in mud or dirt from their sporting activities. The beauty of this tool is that the pressurized steam is ready rather quick; I have read that other steamers could take up to 7-10 minutes. In addition, the provided attachments are a great value add and allow to clean in different use cases. Finally, the product craftsmanship and quality is top tier; once you open the box, you will realize how well the steamer is made with very durable material. It came with all the attachments and was fast to heat up. The only issue is the small plastic brush bristles will melt. I saw them starting to morph so I did short bursts of steam in order to save the life of them. The directions say the fill capacity is 1100mL but I believe it's a little less. It comes with a fill cup at 400mL max. So I filled it to 300mL 3 times too equal a total of 900mL so that I would be safe. It over flowed. Now, I cleaned up the mess ensuring no water was anywhere else. Make sure you screw the cap on extra tight but not to brake! I chose the small head attachment and attached the small plastic brush to that. I plugged it in and flipped the switch on. It took about 5 minutes to heat up and then the light turned green. Now, since the tank was over filled the nozzle sprayed out a lot of water. But after that it worked properly. I feel it is powerful. On the handle there is a dial you can turn to min or max or in between. I had it on minimum at first then turned it up a little. I used it on my couch and after scrubbing spoiled areas, I wiped it with a white rag. So many dark stains came out. I was so happy and amazed. The photos are from after the couch dried the next morning. That was to make sure I got a precise picture since the couch was darker when damp. The price is lower now, so they raised their price by about $25 for prime day so don't wait until a sales day to purchase. I would buy now. It's a great little machine. Oh. And I used distilled water so there wouldn't be calcification build up and clogs. I would absolutely recommend this product even after only using one attachment. Now I know it will work in my shower and kitchen floors! The couch was the only thing I was concerned since it's delicate material. So, I recommend. It's small and won't be in the way. Easy to use. Just use short bursts of steam with the plastic brushes so they don't melt.

I’ve been using the Steam Cleaner (Yellow, 248°F High-Temp) for a couple of weeks now, and it's safe to say this machine packs a serious punch when it comes to deep cleaning without chemicals. The high-temperature steam (up to 248°F) cuts through grime, grease, and dirt effortlessly. I used it on kitchen tiles, bathroom grout, my car’s upholstery, and even some stubborn carpet stains — all with impressive results. It’s particularly effective on grout and tile lines, where scrubbing usually fails. It comes with 21 attachments, including nozzles, brushes, extension wands, and a floor cleaner head. The variety allows you to clean just about anything — from ovens and showers to windows and vehicle interiors. It was great while it lasted. Got it July 2024 and it did a great job steam cleaning multiple surfaces around the house. Unfortunately the safety valve is stuck, that or something else is making it impossible to remove the cap. It just keeps spinning. Really a bummer as the unit has the potential to last a long time.

Had high hopes. I watched review videos and read reviews of numerous steamers. I couldn't spend $200 on something that "may" work. I knew from reading that the water capacity of the $50 models wouldn't do it. This one seemed to hit the sweet spot. A gallon of distilled water fills the tank about 4 times. I've owned low to mid quality steamers since 1996. By now the advancements should have steamers performing much better than the low quality one I could afford in 1996. The videos I saw showed what I was looking for in a steamer. 1) tile and grout in kitchen/dining area 2) tub/shower 3) range hood 4) range - oven and stovetop 5) walls (specifically grease and bug droppings) 6) floors 7) small soiled marks on upholstered furniture from kids and pets (we use special pads to keep pet and kid grime off the furniture that I wash every other day. So, this is negligible, but thought could be a good backup if our differently abled kiddo had managed to make a mess). Here are the results using distilled water: 1) tile grout in kitchen - ?? Kitchen floor itself - Our floor is tile. It does ok. A little awkward to keep it flat on the floor - not tilted due to the way the head is situated on the wand. As far as the grout goes... After being so sick this past month I'm still not up to getting down on the floor to scrub grout with a steamer and its teeny tiny brush attachment. And I know that I will be needing to seal the grout lines again after steaming them. So, this is a weekend job... not something to "test". 2) tub/shower: used the full tank of water on one tub with shower surround and wasn't done. It took more than twice the length of time to clean the shower just with the steamer. The brush is tiny. (Need a larger flat brush or green scrub pad attachment to help tackle this job.) I would steam and scrub with the included brush with one hand and go over it with a green scrubby with the other at the same time. This bathroom sees daily use from four people. There were some teeny tiny spots of mildew that had crept up as I had purposefully not cleaned the bathroom the week before the steamer arrived and I wanted to see if it could really kill off the mildew and keep it away over time. This was the first test I did on August 8th. The following day I was too sick to continue testing. Did it get rid of the mildew. The one spot of it near the overflow - yes. The one on the ledge that holds our razors - not completely. Did the mildew spots come back? The spot at the overflow - one month later is not visible. The spot at the razors suffered a blow and even though I was too sick to do anything this past month (let alone all that goes into cleaning a shower with this steamer) the spot did not grow much this time. I'm going to see if I can get other attachments for the steamer that may work better for a shower. Toilet - I did like how clean it got the lid hinges etc. But I will be placing towels on the floor next to the toilet next time as a lot of dirty water accumulated around the base. 3) range hood: I can do a faster and less messy job using dawn dish soap and a rag with hot water. Again, for this test I allowed the hood to go a week before deep cleaning it. General daily wiping down of the backsplash, top of the hood and edges but not the space that sees the splatters and collects the grease. We use our range multiple times through the day. We cook and can etc. So, it can get ugly under there. As I was steaming I had the vent hood on so I could see as I was working. I ended up asking my husband to help with this one because as I was steaming it was dripping grease down the wall. So, I would do a small section, turn off the steam and had him wiping the hood with a rag as I would wipe the drips and spatters off the cabinets, walls, cooktop and counter. It was a very time consuming process (an hour to clean it and clean up after the mess the steamer was making) and used almost an entire tank of distilled water for this job. Husband was impressed with the pressure it had. He may be repurposing it. 4) range - oven and stovetop: I have an amazing true stainless steel 1988 Jenn-Aire range. I do a deep clean at least once a month by taking the entire cooktop apart. I started on one of the burner areas by steaming the back and edges. That took the last bit of water that was left in the tank from doing the range hood. While it did help remove some things I found that it was quicker, easier and less messy to just use my normal method of dawn with a dishcloth. So, I didn't bother refilling to continue the test on the stainless steel portion. I will give that a shot next time I clean it. I decided to refill the tank after I was finished with the range inserts to see if I could get the grease screens for the range hood and for the downdraft on the Jenn-Air range clean. OH MY GOSH WHAT A MESS!! I had the grease screens in the sink. As I was steaming the grease was splattering out into the sink and the surrounding area. I typically clean these in the sink with dawn. They come out sparkling silver with a 15 minute soak and rinse. I was steaming just ONE for well over 15 minutes and the grease was just moving from one location to another with a bunch splattering all over the sink, faucet, window, trim, counter etc. Even though I had the screen facing down into the sink it was just everywhere. So, I had to clean all that now. I felt like I was in my very own version of "The Cat in the Hat" with filth moving from one location to another to another. So, I turned off the steamer, cleaned the sink basin and set the screens into soapy water to soak and rinse. done. Now, the steam cleaner had a mess all over the faucet, window trim, counter, behind the faucet, window etc. to clean up. Turned the steamer back on for this one as I wanted to see if it would get the hard water that collects at the joints of the new faucet (it did to a point) and clean up its grease mess on the painted backsplash, between the sink and the backsplash etc. Pressure. Ok... My fault here. Next time I will put a wall of towel up to collect whatever the steamer moves out of the space from between the sink and backsplash. I have an older double basin white porcelain cast iron sink. It has tall edges and the space is so slim I typically wrap the blade of a butter knife with a washcloth to clean the area. I had been sick for a full month. Kids were in charge of the dishes and keeping the area clean. So, on top of the nasty grease mess... we have something else completely. I hit it with the steamer and the pressure just blew all that mess out - right onto the white canister set three and a half feet away. Is this a positive? well... it did clean one area... Cat in the Hat style. oven: I didn't set up the oven to do its self cleaning. I wanted to see what the steamer would do with the old stuff on the inside of the oven door. It couldn't cut the baked on stuff off the glass. But I know that the self cleaning feature does. So, we won't be using the steamer to help clean this particular oven unless we want some help removing some spills prior to using the self cleaning feature. 5) walls (specifically grease by the stove): I will not be testing this further. I tested the area behind the stove as we are planning to put in a tile backsplash in the future and I didn't have to be too concerned about the paint if it messed it up as one reviewer had stated happened to them. One thing you should know is that before I painted using Sherwin Williams Emerald Semi Gloss paint I did the proper prep. TSP cleaning/rinsing and degreasing the entire kitchen. Especially the area that the stove lives. The paint has withstood 8 years of daily wiping clean between the range and hood. The steamer removed some paint. So, I will not be testing it elsewhere. edit to add on Sept 9th - the paint is still gooey and sort of gloppy where the steam hit it as we were steaming the range hood. The paint will need to be removed as it is no longer level and firm. The wall cannot be wiped clean at this time as the paint would smear. 6) floors: All our floors are hard surfaces - tile in wet areas such as bathrooms and kitchen/dining, wood in the family room as well as bedrooms and the dog room has an old vinyl floor covering. I put the strap on the handle as shown, filled up the tank and allowed it to come to temperature. When it was ready I put the strap over my shoulder and "bam" the steamer tank dropped to the floor. The velcro straps are just too short and aren't grippy enough to hold a tank of water. So, I held the steamer as I worked on the wood floor. The way the head swivels is not conducive to moving and cleaning as the head doesn't really swivel correctly to be able to do the floor with ease. You have to be careful to hold the head flat on the floor to make contact. Basically a lot more stepping and less arm stretching as I typically do when using my flat microfiber mop. I wasn't expecting it to be so "fixed". Even the steamer I had in 1996 had more movement than this one. ??? Our floor was pretty dirty. So, I had mopped them with the O-Cedar flat microfiber mop prior to using the steamer. I began working on the wood floor first. I felt that the cloth wasn't quite thick enough - like the plastic steamer head was not padded enough (I'll look into an alternative cloth). After doing approximately 350 sf I changed out the cloth and headed for the tile. This time I doubled it up using another microfiber cloth I had on hand. That helped with the "padding" issue. I was no longer catching on parts of the surface. It was gliding nicely - no noise. This cloth was also dirty even though the floor had "looked" clean prior to the steaming. I wasn't out of steam with the one fill up. So, I moved into the butler pantry/mud room/dog room area. We had not pre-washed this space. The steam really did a good job on the vinyl flooring where the boys farm boots live. We will do the two step clean because we live on a farm and dirt happens. So, mop with the microfiber and then steam to sanitize and get up anything that is left with the steamer. 7) small soiled marks on upholstered furniture from kids and pets (we use special pads to keep pet and kid grime off the furniture that I wash every other day. So, this is negligible, but thought that steam could be a good backup if our differently abled kiddo had managed to make a mess). - I'm not testing this after seeing what happened to the paint at the stove. Too afraid it will mess up the fabric. Overall I'm not completely impressed. I wanted to be. Believe me. $100 is not something I find easy to drop on "one something" Especially when that "something" is supposed to be helping and turns into a Cat in the Hat nightmare. So, I'm leaving two stars. One is for pressure. The other is for an accumulation of cleaning/sanitizing ability as I only give one star when I really don't want to leave any stars at all. And this deserves a couple of claps but not an ovation. Maybe if the floor pad were thicker on the bottom and it included a triangle shaped green scrubby attachments for doing shower/tub areas. However, at this point, I wish that I could put it back in its box and ship it back. note: Today is Sept 8, 2025. My return window ended on Sept 6th. I received the steamer on August 7th. Came down with what we believe is a strain of COVID on the 9th that put me completely down until yesterday Sept 7th. I'm still weak, but wanted to get some deep cleaning done and hopefully kill some germs. So, grabbed the steamer with high hopes of getting furniture, walls, floors, bathrooms etc sanitized... one room at a time. There are "Ideas" below this box that Amazon suggests to discus. So, I will hit on these points: Scent: There is none. It is steam. Build quality: I'd say it is a better "build" than the steamer I had in 1996 as far as build quality but doesn't meet the quality of the floor steamer from 2011. Not at all impressed with the larger floor head. Even if I had carpet I would not be impressed with it. The frame to hold the cloth on it is flimsy to say the least. It would not last. Stain removal: Left the wall gummy and the paint peeling. Grease remained. Dawn removed the grease the following day after the paint had calmed down. Cleaning power: Time consuming but yes. Next time I will pre-clean the tub, toilet, sink. The steamer will be used to sanitize and get the tiny hard to reach/clean spots. This will NOT remove hard water or that orange from well water. It needs a hand with soap scum. Will use a LOT of steam (distilled water) to remove black mildew and soap scum. Will NOT remove black spots from latex tub and tile caulk. Steam Pressure: Excellent!! Steam Quality: Fine. Just keep in mind that the water will condensate and no longer be steam when you come back to it after sitting for a little while. So, point your nozzle into a sink or bucket to allow that to come out for a bit before pointing at the object you are wanting to steam. ALWAYS USE DISTILLED WATER. Edit to add on Sept 9, 2025: I have decided I am going to make a green scrubby pad to go on the floor attachment. I'm going to sew a large green scrubby the size of the face of the floor attachment to a microfiber cloth to use in the shower. I'm also going to create an absorbent padded microfiber cloth for the same attachment to help it glide more smoothly over the wood floors so as not to hear the plastic as it runs across the floor. I'm just concerned that the plastic will leave grooves on our wood floors. I found that the clamps that hold the cloth on do really well with a single layer. When I added a second cloth it seemed to stress the clamps a bit.
