Corny title aside, this has been a well-worth purchase. We recently moved into a house where the previous owners did not know how to clean properly. Whether they moved into the house with it like this or not, the grout on these kitchen tiles were so full of gunk and God knows what else that when we first moved in, I attempted to take a chopped down nylon bristle brush, a soapy water and bleach mixture, and go to town on these. My results were impressive, but it took hours, and hours, and hours of scrubbing just to finish the kitchen area, leaving the entire larger dining room portion as nasty as you can see in the image. I'm aware there's a few spots on the tiles themselves that don't look like the machine did a good enough job, that's not the case! I'm simply saving those spots to try out the steaming mop head part. Anyways, I knew if I wanted to get these clean, I was going to have to find another way. I've seen McCulloch steam machines recommended specifically for Auto Detailing, and based on the results I've personally seen, I imagine it'll do phenomenal there. But steam has its uses just about everywhere, and mine was in the kitchen. This was my first time using a steam machine quite like this, so I'm not sure if there's a better way or if I should be using more steam or not, but I set the dial back to use about as little steam as possible, and then bumped it up a tiny bit from there. I attached one of the wider Nylon bristle brush attachments onto the precision nozzle, and went at it. My process was to let the steam do as much of the work for me as possible. I've done more than enough scrubbing on this floor already, so I wasn't eager to do more. I pull the trigger, and move slowly over the grout line, letting the bristles drag on the tile. I do about 3 slow back and forth passes, and as I'm finishing up the 3rd pass, the gunk is already starting to wipe away with the very gentle bristle pressure. Once the 3rd pass is done, I start scrubbing my way back up and down the grout line, blasting the steam the entire time. At this point I'm using a little more pressure, but it's still hardly anything at all, just enough to make sure that the bristles are able to reach into the grout to take out all the nasties. At this point I'm just scrubbing anything I see, dark spots on the edges, dark spots in the grout, etc... just lightly scrubbing. I'm using so little pressure that I can apply the pressure I need with one hand, it's not difficult at all. It takes maybe a whole minute to do an edge of tile if I have to really scrub out a tougher spot. Once I'm done scrubbing, I take my trusty disposable automotive rag, wipe up the water, and I'm off to the next grout line. It's that easy. When the rag is soaked, I take it to the sink, wring it out under clean water, get is as dry as possible, go back and start again. As far as the machine itself is concerned, it can put out a lot of steam. While I don't see anyone needing to use it for a true 2 hours straight (I got the big one), I'm almost certain the machine can handle that. The quality of all the parts seem fine, they're all plastic, but given that they're supposed to withstand the high temperature steam that's coming from the machine, I'm sure they're a higher quality than your typical stuff. I've seen a lot of reviews about how their brushes and such aren't made to snuff with the machine, and I have to say that after having used the same single nylon bristle brush all day, these people have got to be scrubbing way too hard with their stuff. Steam is meant to do a lot of the heavy lifting for you, breaking down virtually anything with the moisture and extreme heat combo (not to mention it's naturally disinfecting as it does!). Once broken down, most of the stuff you'll be using this for should be able to be very gently scrubbed away with minimal effort. You don't have to use a lot of force to see results, the steam does the hard work for you. Granted, this isn't a miracle machine, you're still going to have to put in a very little amount of effort to get it to that 100% mark, but man if it doesn't make it so much easier. If you're on the fence but you have a project in mind you could use this for, I'm almost certain this will make that job easier.

I was leery about purchasing this product because of the negative reviews. After deliberating for a couple of weeks and looking at the alternatives, I crossed my fingers and decided to give it a try. After reading the instructions thoroughly and setting up the machine, I put it to work, going through two 64oz tanks of water back to back. I'm honestly impressed. Outside of obviously defective units that people have reported, I don't understand why anyone would complain about the performance. This is not a magical tool that will instantly clean anything with a simple push of the button; It will, however, save you lots of time and effort. We have a very old hunting cabin that has been neglected over the years; Built-up dust/grime, filthy windows, dingy grout, etc. So far, I have cleaned the windows, window frames, mantle, floors, ceiling fans, A/C window unit, and started on the grout. It has cut down cleaning time significantly. My method for most of the tasks has been to work from top to bottom with the brass-tipped nozzle, breaking down the grime and then following behind with a dry microfiber. For greasy or very dirty surfaces, I first lightly spray with a degreaser like LA Totally Awesome. This method has worked for everything so far, and I haven't even tried any attachments other than the brass nozzle and the mop. One thing to note is that after spraying a surface with steam, it may still appear dirty (this was the case with the window frames), but a quick wipe with the towel will reveal that all of the dirt and gunk has been broken free and just needs to be picked up. I recommend the microfiber because it "snags" the particles better than other towels. Where this product really shines is cleaning inside small areas, like where the window glass meets the frame, where the trim meets the wall and floor, the nooks and crannies around faucets, hinges of the toilet seat, the front grate on window A/Cs, miniblinds, et al- places where you can't easily get a rag or anything else inside to clear out the gunk. The steam blasts it out effortlessly. I used it on some of my kids' plastic toys, where there was who-knows-what kind of buildup in the seams and small crevices- now they look brand new. The unit runs a long time on a tank of water, even with the steam at maximum output. It took me about four hours to go through two tanks of water. Granted, that was not nonstop usage, but fairly close; I estimate about ninety minutes of use per tank. Regarding the claim that the pressure drops quickly, I didn't experience this. The unit so far seems to recover during the minute or so when I pause to wipe up the leftover moisture. On a related note, I don't understand the complaint that the steam contains too much liquid; When the steam contacts a cooler surface that you are cleaning, it is going to condense back into water...this is the other reason for following behind with a towel. If you pause for a few minutes and then resume steaming, you will see water spraying from the nozzle; This is because the steam that was inside of the hose has condensed from its gaseous state back into liquid. It is not a flaw with the machine, but physics. Spray it into a towel for a couple seconds before resuming, and you are good to go. The few negatives that I would mention are minor. The extensions for the mop do feel a little flimsy/cheap, especially once they warm up after extended use. It hasn't been an issue yet, but time will tell. The plastic grip where you hold it in your hand does get warm, and I was initially concerned that it would become uncomfortable to hold after awhile, but it did not. Filling the unit with water takes a little patience. Just pour slowly, and if you hear it bubbling, that's your cue to slow down for a second before resuming. The plug does not have a "hook" to clamp it to the power cord after wrapping the cord around the hooks on the back of the unit. Slightly inconvenient, as you have to loop the last few inches around the roll of cord so it won't fall off. Similarly, the carrier on the front does not retain the hand control securely. The carrying bag and net for attachments are almost useless, so I didn't bother with them. Sometimes the attachment points (the yellow button) do not engage completely, leading to attachments coming loose, especially the extensions. Pay attention when connecting them, as they will feel solidly connected, but if you look at the yellow button where it engages in the hole, you will notice that the button is not fully popped up. Sometimes a slight twisting motion after inserting will make it click into place. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase. Just be patient, read and follow the manual, and it should work fine. I have already saved hours of work with this machine, and would definitely recommend it. UPDATE: I have been using the machine several times per week for a little over two months, and it is still going strong. I have since used more of the attachments. The squeeze works great for glass; I have not bought glass cleaner since. However, the green scrub pads are nearly useless; They disintegrated in a matter of minutes. I prefer to just use a separate scrubbing pad and supplement it with steam from a brass nozzle. The plastic scrubber that attaches to the mop head is decent for cleaning up mud tracks and similar stuck debris before following up with the microfiber pad. I would definitely recommend trying it on the interior of your vehicles. It easily cleans all of the crevices that are impossible to reach with a rag, and the gunky buildup on steering wheels and door sills.

I used the MC1385 to steam clean my entire Airbnb this weekend. Overall it does a great job but there are a few things that could use improvement. I steam cleaned the wood, vinyl, & ceramic floors, the shower tile, the sinks, and the 3 sets of double sliding glass doors. Here's what I found. Pros: - It's very light weight and the hose and power cord seem plenty long enough. - There is an attachment for just about anything you want to try to steam clean. - The dial on the handle to control the amount of steam is very handy when going back & forth from large attachments to small ones. - Cleaned the floors (wood, vinyl, ceramic tile & grout) like a champ. - It did an ok job on my own stainless steel sink but I figure out that it's better to let some CLR soak on there first, wipe & rinse, then use the steam; that works much better on hard water build up. - It cut my window cleaning time in half. - It has more tank capacity and included attachments than the 1375. Cons: - There's no way to know how much water is in the tank at any given time. I saw this in other reviews so I already knew this would be a challenge. It's not a big deal but when you run out of water, you have to wait for it to cool down (~5-6 min) before you can refill it, then it has to warm back up again (~6-7 min) so it's kind of disruptive if it happens right in the middle of something. - When you're doing the floors the canister doesn't just roll around and follow you like it does with the MC1375. In fact, not only does it fall over the moment you tug on the hose, it's down right comical trying to move the canister while holding the mop AND kicking the power cord out of the way. It's awkward to say the least, but I'll figure it out. Knowing I would use this on floors quite bit, I almost opted for the 1375 for this reason, but I will also use it for windows, sinks, and baths just as much & the 1375 doesn't come with the widow squeegie/scrubber attachment. - When you use the attachments with short bristles like the floor scrubber, triangle scrubber, window scrubber/squeegie, the bristles bend with the heat of the steam and the pressure of using it. Once they bend, they're not as effective at scrubbing. I might try to use the steam and push them in the other direction to see if it straightens them out. Overall it's very handy for cleaning a 768 sq ft cottage on all the surfaces I mentioned, and only refilled twice, but there are a few things that keep it from being a 5-star product.

I have been using steam to clean for many years. My mom bought a multi-use steamer when I was about 14 and I've been using it ever since. When I moved out on my own, I got the steamer and my mom upgraded. Used it ever since. It finally crapped out after over 10 years, so I know a few things about steam cleaning and there are some tricks to it. I decided to buy this one because it had a big water tank and had a lot of features. Things I didn't like about my previous steamer. Pros: Large water tank- that doesn't mean you should fill it all the way though. If you fill it full, there is no room for the steam and heat to expand and you won't get good pressure or amount of steam. This is true of ALL STEAMERS. If you over fill them, it won't work well. Fill it about half to 75% - I use an old smallish pitcher and am able to steam a LOT without refilling. Long power cord- I can roll this thing around my kitchen, dining room, front room, and hallway without unplugging it. Admittedly I don't have a huge house, but the cord is as long or longer than my vacuum cord. It is really nice to not have to unplug and replug in every room. Long steam hose- this hose is awesomely long. It doesn't lose pressure or heat and still comes out strong. I can put the tank in the middle of my hall or kitchen and still reach everything I want to steam. Steam adjuster on the handle- very cool feature I've never had before! I am able to customize how much steam I get for different tasks. I adjusted it a few times while steaming and it is a very useful feature. I can have delicate steam for light things, vertical surfaces, or fabrics. I can have heavy steam for bathrooms and kitchen stuff, or old/ thick tough things. The pressure gauge- I like it, but it isn't needed. It seems to just upset people who don't understand how pressure vessels work. Yes, the gauge goes up higher than the highest the machine will go, obviously. It is kind of a safety feature, because if it hit the top of the scale how would you know what the actual pressure was; if something went wrong and the pressure went higher than it was supposed to you wouldn't know. Also I see lots of people complaining that the pressure drops from 4 to 2. Yeah. Duh, you are releasing pressure, but it takes a while to drop. But you can steam perfectly fine at 2 anyway; I did for like half an hour before I was done for the day. And if you wait maybe five minutes, it is back up to 4. By the way, it only takes MAYBE fifteen minutes to heat up from a room temperature start. And I'm tired of people complaining about heat up time: for that amount of water, it isn't going to be instant obviously. Heating less water in a tea kettle on the stove can take just as long. Just go get the rags to wipe with or go to the bathroom, whatever. It gets hot- I see someone complaining about the steam being n Easy fill spout- it is super easy to fill without a funnel. But you have to go slow or it will burp at you. ;) Wheels and handle- really easy to move around. My old steamer was small but rested on a shoulder strap that got heavy and banged around. It was exhausting, this is easy to move around! Con: No place to wind the hose- it isn't too bad but it could have easily been a clip Handle gets a little warm- after about 30 minutes to an hour, it got warm. Not hot enough that I had to stop but, warm enough to notice. But after that long of steam running through it it isn't the surprising or unusual. I wasn't bothered enough to quit what I was doing. OVERALL I really like this steamer. It feels well made and if you use it appropriately it won't break. It isn't magic, but it makes cleaning so much easier. You still have to wipe things up, tough things will take longer or some scrubbing. I've used it several times in the week since I've had it and it works as expected. But some people have crazy expectations. Some tips: Be reasonable, it is a tool for cleaning, not a replacement for work. Don't over fill it. Adjust the steam to the lowest and raise as needed. I use old towels to wipe, and green scrubbers for tough stuff. I've cleaned my fridge, baby stuff, glass top stove, bathroom sinks, grungy doors(you know where they get funky from hands by the knob), a pan with baked on BBQ sauce, all my light switches and plates, bathroom shower, and a few other small things.

Update: It has now been over 4 years since I purchased my unit and it is going as strong as when it was new. I have replaced the attachments a few times because I use the hell out of them. The unit is durable, creates enough steam for me to complete a job without having to stop and wait for it to catch up. I often lock the wand to the on and hi position to clean floors and shower, etc and it can run at least an hour without a break. I don't understand the comments about the floor attachment breaking, I have used it for four years and it is as sturdy as day one. You have to remember to let the steam do the work, if you are pressing down extra hard and using it like a deck brush, I assume it would break. Most issues I have seen when others use it is that they don't know how. They scrub like hell and move over the surface quickly; that isn't how steam cleaners work. Slow movement, let the steam break up the crud and slowly drag the mop over the surface with very little pressure.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: After having used a couple of lesser models of steamers, I decided to go with a more professional model with the attachments, capacity and run time to get larger jobs done. Heat up time: Takes about 10 - 12 minutes to heat up, and will run continuously without fail for an hour and a half to two hours, depending on your steam pressure. Ease of use: Very easy to use, the trigger on the handle can be locked in place, or can be used with the trigger for momentary bursts of steam when you need it. The multi purpose attachments are great for tackling any kind of clean up scenario you could find yourself encountering. It comes with everything you'd need to scrub, scrape, brush or mop away dirt. Water retention: Holds 64oz of water. You'll need to fill the cup that is provided twice to fill the unit up, and getting the water into the unit without making a mess can sometimes be tricky, but over all it holds enough to get the most stubborn jobs done. The tank is sufficient to get the hardest of jobs completed without needing to refill it. Smell: The only smell comes from the dirt and nasty you're steaming away. The device might have an 'electronic' smell when you first unbox it, but that's with any new gadget that plugs into a wall. Aside from that, no smell. Cord length: Cord length is plenty long. You're guaranteed to be able to find a receptacle to plug it into and have enough length to roll the unit near enough to clean whatever mess you need to clean, unless you're in a warehouse. For standard office/house jobs, you'll be just fine with the built in cord. Use: Now here is where we get to the singular con I have about this unit. It works fantastic....before it breaks down. The unit itself is fine, the nozzle, trigger, etc all work perfectly. I imagine it'd continue to work perfectly if you only used it in short bursts here and there. If you're planning on using this for any length of time, the handle is going to heat up. The plastic will keep you from burning yourself, don't worry! The problem is that it gets so hot, that the screws that hold the housing of the handle together will start to retain that heat. As a result, the screws will melt the plastic that they're screwed into. This causes the screws to fall out during use, and you'll find that the plastic has been melted enough that it gets stripped out. After that has happened, there's no getting the screw back in. This causes issues with the trigger operation, the lock operation, the flow dial, etc. If it weren't for this one HUGE flaw, I'd absolutely love this thing. Conclusion: Prior to the handle falling apart, this machine was perfect. Scored 5 stars across the board. After using this machine for 3 weeks off and on, the handle fell apart and it's now dangerous to attempt to use. (The steam can get stuck on, the metal bits underneath can be exposed to allow you to get burned, and the trigger can cease to function, as well as the dial to control the steam output). If it weren't for the handle falling apart, I'd give this thing 5 stars. While it's working, it works beautifully. If you're trying to deep clean an old house with this and using it frequently, it WILL break down on you. For the amount you pay for this, it should be rock solid for a good amount of time. To have it break down in 3 weeks with occasional heavy weekend use. That is not acceptable.

I really loved this machine it practically does everything I need to clean and sanitize the houses I clean. The first machine I got didn't turn on after I used it 5 times. Good thing was it came with a 1 yr. Warranty. I called the service number it came with instructions, gave my information and followed their instructions to cut cord send photos of this being done and a new one was sent right away. So far the second machine has not given me any problems. I've used it six times now. It does windows, floors, great in the bathroom, also cleans furniture, carpets stains,& so much more. I use less chemicals. Comes with lots of accessories to do so many jobs. I give it 5⭐️'s even though the first machine stopped working. Customer service was very helpful.

I’m very impressed with the McCulloch MC1385 Canister Steam Cleaner. It produces strong, consistent steam and does an excellent job removing dirt, grease, and buildup without having to rely on harsh chemicals. I especially like the variety of attachments, which makes it useful for cleaning floors, bathrooms, kitchens, grout, and other hard-to-reach areas. The large water tank is also a big plus because I can clean for a good amount of time without constantly stopping to refill it. Overall, it’s a powerful and versatile machine that has made deep cleaning much easier. Definitely worth the purchase
