Very pleased with this vacuum. So far, I only have pros, no cons. Here are the pros. * Excellent suction. * Very manuverable. * The detect feature is a great boon. I don't have to wonder if stuff on the floor or carpet has been picked up, the sweeper adjusts to get everything. I do watch the lights to know when all has been removed. * The dust bin empty feature is a wonderful addition. I prefer to empty a dust bin after each use but disliked doing that. Now, I hang the vac and presto, the bin is empty. It's not too heavy. * Given it's many features, I doubt it could be much lighter. * The battery lasts while I do everything I want to do. The battery lasts much longer than the other brand that's highly rated. Very pleased with the purchase. Two weeks later and I'm still delighted with this vac. I do have some advice. The filter system on the motor is very effective and captures large amounts of dust. I was surprised when I first checked on it and discovered it was so full. With other sweepers, I've found that allowing a vacuum filter to get too full decreases the vacuum's suction. So, now I'm looking at that filter system far more often. (I continue to be surprised at how much it collects!) ... show more

    • Great Vacuum, Would definitely buy again

I did a lot of research before buying this and glad I did. It's my first cordless and, maybe I just got lucky but I couldn't be happier with it. It has plenty of suction power. You name it and it sucks it up from cat hair to kibble, cheerios to rice. It has a sensor that "knows" when it's on carpet and automatically the vacuum increases power. Then when it gets on vinyl/smooth flooring it knows and and automatically lowers the power a bit but still easily sucks up everything without flinging it back. It also has sensors and knows when you get close to a wall and automatically increases power so it gets everything close to the wall. The other thing it has sensor(s) for is that it "knows" is when it is sucking up more dirt in a particular spot and so also speeds up to be sure it gets it all. All that speeding up when needed and then slowing down, is to save battery power without sacrificing cleaning. I've run it for about 30 minutes in that "auto" mode and still had a little bit of battery power left. You can manually set it to a constant low or high power but I've left it on the middle, automatic power detect setting and let it decide how much power to use and when to use it (or not). It does such a good job on that setting that I see no reason to change it. I suspect on a constant high setting your battery would run out of juice pretty quickly, probably in 15 minutes or so. I also find that I use the flex wand more than I thought I would. Great for getting under beds or whatever without bending over so much to do so. When you're finished vacuuming, just stick it on the docking station and the docking station sucks out the dirt from the vacuum cleaner and puts that dirt in a docking station container. When docked, it also recharges the battery. That dock station container holds a lot so you don't need to empty it very often maybe once a month or so, if that much depending on your situation. When you do need to empty the docking station container, it easily disconnects from the docking station with one hand. Take the container and hold it over garbage can, push a lever and the bottom opens up and dumps everything in garbage can. I wish it came with more attachments. Mine came with two and neither had a brush which I really would like to have. I also wish there was some onboard way to carry one or more of the attachments on the vacuum itself. To say this is a great cordless stick vacuum is a massive understatement. We’ve been Dyson owners for years, and while the Dyson did its job, we were always fighting with clogged power heads, constant suction issues, and batteries that never seemed to hold up. After doing a ton of research, the Shark Power Detect with DuoClean kept showing up in reviews and comparison tests, often beating Dyson head-to-head. I was still skeptical...until ours arrived. The very first time we used it, the Shark pulled out an unbelievable amount of dust, dirt, pet hair, and debris from carpets we thought were already clean. The difference was jaw-dropping. What impressed me most is how not a single strand of hair got tangled in the brushes. That alone is a game-changer. The auto power modes are another brilliant feature. When it senses less dirt, the motor slows down, which makes it noticeably quieter while still delivering excellent suction. The LED detection lights are a genius add-on too. They show you exactly where dirt is hiding and when a surface is truly clean. The bendable stick makes it so easy to get under furniture without having to move it, and the overall design is comfortable to use with no trigger to hold down while vacuuming. Combine all that with a price tag, it makes this Shark far better than a Dyson, and this vacuum is a winner in every possible way. Shark has absolutely nailed it here. If you’re debating between Dyson and Shark, save yourself the headache and go with the Shark, you will not regret it. ... show more
