I went down a rabbit hole one weekend looking for the best cordless vacuum and ended up purchasing this one. There is only 1 con I have and it’s not even specific to the vacuum. Here are some of the things that lead me to purchase and fall in love with this vacuum. The size is perfect for small spaces. Since it can be folded in half for storage it can be stored anywhere and be out of the way and out of sight. The suction is amazing! Paired with 2 rollers it gets every piece of dirt, debris, hair, and anything else you encounter. The front roller is amazing on tile and hardwood floors. It helps loosen dirt allowing the suction to remove it. I cleaned and vacuumed my entire house with a different cordless vacuum then went behind it with this vacuum and was surprised at just how much extra dirt this vacuum was able to get. Even very fine dirt that was embedded into the carpet came up. The “detect” aspect of this vacuum is top tiered. My last cordless vacuum wasn’t great and I always had it on its max setting just to make sure I got everything. I can confidently leave this on its “eco” setting and I know that it will increase its power when/if needed. I also love that it can detect the floor and increases suction and roller speed when on carpet for deeper cleaning. The battery life is great. I was able to vacuum 2,000 sqft and still had about 25% battery left. The only con I have is that Shark currently doesn’t have extra batteries to purchase for this model. Not sure if they will in the future or not but after owning this vacuum for a few months now I’ve not had to stop in the middle of cleaning to recharge the batter. It’s super easy to use, just press the button and go. The lights are perfect for seeing tiny dust particles ensure you get everything. It performs better than any more expensive brand I’ve owned in the past. It does have some weight to it but it’s not too heavy. I usually only store it folded in half to prevent it from falling. The only true con I have is the lack of accessories. I was hoping I would be able to use this in the car but it’s just a bit too large and the accessories aren’t the best for that but they’re pretty good for household use. I wish they made a flexible hose that would attach so I could use this in smaller areas like the car. Overall this vacuum exceeded my expectations. I know Shark is a fantastic brand but wasn’t sure a cordless vacuum would hold up to those expectations. This vacuum cleans just as well as my corded Shark vacuum. I know that once I move and have more room I will be upgrading to the model that has the base that empties the dust and charges all in one.

★★★★★ Finally a cordless stick vacuum that actually handles dog hair without constant maintenance After owning several vacuums over the years (including a Dyson), I can confidently say this is the first cordless stick vacuum that feels like it was designed by people who actually vacuum. What I love: Excellent suction This thing picks up far more than I expected from a cordless vacuum. Floors look noticeably cleaner after one pass. The dual rollers are the star of the show Dog hair tangling has been my #1 frustration with previous vacuums. Every other vacuum eventually turned into a maintenance project. So far, these dual rollers have been excellent—minimal tangling and far less time spent cutting hair out of brushes. Honestly, I wish someone would make a robot vacuum that worked half as well as this. Power Detect isn’t just marketing I assumed this feature would be gimmicky, but it actually works. You can feel and hear it adjust suction based on the amount of debris, which seems to help battery life without sacrificing cleaning. Easy to empty and easy to clean Emptying the canister is simple and not messy. Even better, cleaning the vacuum itself is refreshingly easy. Parts snap in and out—no screwdrivers, no fighting with plastic clips. Attachments are simple and useful The crevice and upholstery tools click on and off quickly and both do exactly what they’re supposed to do. The bend feature surprised me I expected the bend-to-clean-under-furniture feature to be a gimmick… it isn’t. It makes cleaning under the TV console, dining table, and chairs dramatically easier. Lights actually help The headlights expose dog hair on light hardwood floors that I genuinely didn’t realize was there. Battery life has been excellent Much better than the Dyson this replaced. I’m not constantly thinking about charging. One thing I don’t love: The power and mode controls could be designed better. The power button is more visually prominent (light gray on a black background) and positioned where it’s easy to reach with my thumb, so I sometimes hit it when I meant to switch modes. Meanwhile, the smaller trigger that changes modes is more out of sight and, at least for me, out of mind. Not a dealbreaker, but there’s room for improvement there. Bottom line: This has been one of those rare purchases that immediately feels better than what it replaced. Strong suction, thoughtful design, easy maintenance, and finally a brush system that doesn’t become a dog-hair disaster. I’m happy enough with it that I plan to buy a second one for downstairs.

This is a good vacuum. Cleans well and has a ‘relatively’ big cup to hold dust and debris. Some debris did get caught in the rollers, but was easy to remove. I need to find a permanent place for it. Going through kitchen remodeling now and the house if a mess. This vacuum helps.

Great at first.... When I first got this vac, it was great. I loved the weight and maneuverability. The "headlight" is great. It was actually easier to vacuum with barely any lights on, the headlight clearly shows you the dirt on the floor better than any overhead lighting would. As with all cordless vacs of this size, the battery isn't made to last for hours. Understandable. Too bad you can't seem to buy a spare battery for this model. ALWAYS out of stock on Shark's website. Fastforward 4 months. The battery is no longer holding a charge after light weekly use. The product registration page does not accept the model number clearly indicated on the vac, IP1255. Now that the battery is annoying me, I will start point out all the features that I hate about this vac. 1. The brush head constantly goes into locked mode. You have to step on the brush head and pull the vac down to unlock it. 2. The power adapter to charge the vac is flimsy and always just dangling on the floor. No neat way to store it. 3. The instructions on how to open the unit, change filters, clean the bin, etc are not intuitive and always feel like you're going to break the unit when you do any of that 4. The automatic detect puts it into super high suction mode when it gets to my area rugs and is so strong that it sucks the who rug into it. 5. The button to change speed is getting finicky over time. 6. The vac is not designed to be able to stand on it's own unless the stick is folded back. Makes it difficult to store. 7. Can't but spare batteries Would I buy this vac again, I don't think so. Some great features, but feels cheaply made.

Pros - It stores compact. Has big power. 3 settlings, Eco, Normal and High power. It auto adjusts depending on dirt level and carpet vs hardwood. So has sensing tech. I did my entire house (1800 sq ft, LVP and some low to medium pile rugs) and still had 60% battery left. My old one (old one was a Black & Decker stick vacuum) I had to switch batteries 70-75% through the house. I did 2 rooms on eco and the rest on normal, easy to adjust modes. It auto adjusted as it should when it got near walls to increase suction. It bends under furniture and sucks up dirt in forward as well as backward motions. It has a double roller. Easy to change dust bin cup. Cons - No way to store attachments. Doesn't stand up right. You have to fold it in rest position or it will fall over. A little taller than my old one and being short (5'1") that can be an adjustment and heavier than my old one, top heavy. Even though specs say this one is 2.5 lbs lighter than my old one that battery makes it top heavy.

Ok to start with this vacuum does last the 70 minutes run time they state. This vacuum does work great. However I don’t have any rugs in my house that would cut down on running time. Another thing is that it a bit heavier than I thought it would be, not an issue for me. The only things I don’t like is this model does not come with a wall mount. Another is the bright led lights it comes with don’t really show dust and hair on floor. I’ll be experimenting with different add on accessories to have that green light that Dysons come with. In my opinion Dysons are overpriced and overrated. I’ll be experimenting with different green lights and post a video on Amazon when I find something that works well. If you’re using this vacuum for Rugs then I would definitely recommend this model. There’s also another more expensive model same vacuum but it comes with a docking station that charges vacuum and empties dust bin automatically. A very cool feature but I don’t need that. Overall a great vacuum for the price.

Great suction, will devour your throw rugs, does sense if it needs to up the auction over a thicker rug, and against corners.. it does not have a detachable hose that I can use as a want to snatch stuff in the corners, like my other upright vac. Also pushing it uses a lot of pressure on your thumb, so it almost leaves you with a blister. There's not padding there, however there is a rubber pad on the trigger button, which seems opposite it should be.

My dog sheds constantly, I don't care anymore. This vacuum is light weight, powerful and easy to use. I love that it bends, under the furniture is a breeze. If i have a complaint, and I don't, the the catch bin needs to be bigger.
