  • Work Great!
Color: Sky Blue
I've been all over the place with trying to figure out what to use for listening to my music while at the gym. I've tried earbuds and the primary issue is being able to keep them in place while I'm doing various activities. Inevitably, they always....I mean always...come loose, lose their ideal placement for optimal sound and I need to re-establish them. Needless to say...I'm not dealing with that. I even bought a pair that was supposedly one of the best...never lost their seating, etc. Returned after one gym session. BTW...I'm not doing crazy gymnastic stuff...basic use of equipment, walking on treadmill, stairclimber and recumbent bike. I am just getting back to the gym and a few years ago used a 'cheapo' on ear headphone set that I essentially viewed as 'throw-away'. It worked fine and sure enough, the covering got to a point from sweating they were no longer functional. So...that's where I was kinda going w/my decision-making this time. Even though I toyed w/the idea of buying a better headphone set...good brand w/good reputation that also had the option of replacing the earpads. Then I found these headphones. I wanted something that would provide decent sound quality. Check....not as good as my 'good travel headphones' but definitely better than buds, and good enough for 1.5 hours of gym time. They were advertised as lightweight and comfortable....check. Barely notice they are on. Value for the money....check. Paid about $20 for these!! Bluetooth connection and charging time vs playback is excellent. This is absolutely all I need while doing my 'gym thing'. If I were to have one 'gripe', it's the wish of having noise cancellation feature. I thought that the ambient gym noise...regular hub-bub and their own music, would be negated by the earpads and music. Yes, for the most part it does negate it, but would be a heckuva lot better to not have music quite so high for my hearing....yes...getting a tad older and that's becoming a greater concern. Otherwise, if you're thinking about these headphones, no need to debate....I wouldn't hesitate. ... show more

  • A good product for the money. Good sound and comfortable feel.
Color: Jet Black
Five stars, but really 4.5. The .5 is for the mediocre case / pouch to carry them in. I've used various headphones / earbuds brands. I have one set of wired headphones from Skullcandy that are no longer made and the benchmark I use for all others. I have some TOZO earbuds that are what I use for work and travel. I had Beats, those sounded like garbage and aggravated my TMJ, especially on long flights. These sound great, with or without the app. Connectivity is easy, again with out without the app. They came with a full charge, however I charged them anyway. I've only used them probably a total of three hours since they arrived, the battery is still full. They sit well on my head and ears and do not aggravate my TMJ. The construction isn't bad. I am a little worried about the resilience of the arms, specifically the joint. They seem studry at this time, but as of this review I"ve only had them for about 5 days. For the money, these are a great value. I may buy another set as backup. That's how good they sound and feel. UPDATE 5/19 - Wow. Well I’m sitting at an indoor skatepark. There’s around 20 kids here. Normally this place is loud. I’ve got the Noise cancellation on. Wow, just wow. I’ve been switching it on and off to hear the difference. I will definitely buy another for back-up. ... show more

  • Upgraded from Q30s - decent but lateral move
Color: Jet Black
My Life Q30s were showing their age, their earcups having been replaced three times (as in, they were on their fourth pair), and the headband was looking tattered. The actual headphones were fine, but I thought it was time to put them to rest. So I got these. Here’s the biggest changes I noticed: 1: packaging downgrades: When I got my Q30s (before they became the “Life Q30s”), they included a hard case. That was super handy. I’m very disappointed that the Space Ones don’t include a hard case, and that that’s an additional accessory. The dust/egg bag is fine for that I guess. I’m also confused as to why the ability to stack the earcups is advertised as more convenient. Maybe I don’t toss my headphones in bags enough, but I actually prefer the older fold flat design - or I wish there was a way to do both, somehow. 2. The app My biggest pet peeve with my Life Q30s was the fact that the dual pairing was something you had to control manually. So if you were connected to your phone and computer and they were fighting, you had to manually disconnect one. If you wanted to connect a third, you had to disconnect one. And so on. This is now all remotely managed thru the Soundcore app, so that you can connect and disconnect at will. This is super useful, especially because a certain major operating system loves to claim active Bluetooth connections without your active permission, and that’s the only one that work computers seem to use. It’s easier for me to use the app to tell that OS to kick rocks than it would be to shuffle thru my work bag, log in, and disconnect it myself at 11pm on a Thursday. It does also mean if you shuffle thru devices constantly, that you have to have one connected to your Space Ones and with the Soundcore app on it at all times, though. There’s a new feature to have the headphones auto pause and lower volume, just like some major brand earbuds. But both features didn’t work well. The first will pause whenever I shift my headphones on my head but not when I actually place them down cups up (like they are supposed to do, as you calibrate in the app). The second feature lowered volume when I coughed would react to something I was watching verbally. So I turned that off. The other app features are kinda useless. The personalized equalizer didn’t work for me. The AI sleep thing doesn’t make sense for me and I wish they’d stop pushing it via notifications. That’s actually it. The headphones are basically the same otherwise. Which sounds like a harsher diss than it should be. ... show more
