UPDATE: I like this enough that I ordered a second one for upstairs. The self-cleaning brush roll is GREAT if you have pet hair or your own long hair. I got the second one as "used very good" and it was fine - perfectly clean and works well. You can add a second robot to the app with its own map. I have a 100 lb dog who sheds...a lot. I can't vacuum enough to keep up. I have an eufy for my bedroom, and love it (despite its random pattern) because it's thin enough to go under all of my furniture. But in my great room, it gets stuck on every single thing. The shark does a good job (on carpet) and doesn't get stuck on anything. Goes over an area rug with no issue. Today when it was done, I got out my upright to see if I'd get more hair. Virtually zero!! Once in a while it seems to spread vs. pick up some hair, but it's been rare. It always finds its base, even though I have it in a fairly narrow and hard-to-get-to place. PROS: Does a good job overall. Decent vacuum pattern (usually). MY ROOM GETS VACUUMED EVERY DAY AND I DON'T HAVE TO DO IT!!! COULD IMPROVE: No way to add a second map for a different level or floor. You can run it manually, but it doesn't seem to cover as well. There's also nothing in the instructions to tell me whether a second robot could be added with its own map, or if I'd have to set up two different app accounts. At first it did the long open areas in my room with a long even path. Lately it will come back and criss-cross over that in a weird random pattern. Still beats having to vacuum, but I don't understand why it does that. It's disconnected twice in the 30 days I've had it. Once I had to reinstall the robot (it did save my map though), and the second time it fixed itself when I turned it off and on again.

I have owned this beauty for over 5 years and has never failed me. Once i thought it did but learned after buying s new battery (which i did not need) my shark bumped into something and turned itself off. I didn't realize it had a.m. on/off button. Upon this realization and can honestly state this vacuum has never failed me. I use it 5 out of 7 days a week to pick up dog hair off my hard wood floors and scatter rugs! It is very easy to use, clean and program. Yes, i easily programmed it to clean on specific days and times. I can control it on my phone and see the map area it cleans. I don't even mind that it is not self cleaning; it's that good.

This is my 4th robot vacuum, my first Shark and it is the best of the lot. The mapping feature is great. It sets the stage for cleaning map. The cleaning mapping is very accurate. I've had the Shark for a month now and have used it about 12-15 times. It has only gotten stuck once. I like how it may go over vacuumed areas twice. Take 5 minutes and pick up cords and small items like toys Suction power is very good by evidence what is picked up in the dust bin. The carpet gets cleaned! Battery power is good, could be better. The system states it will take 1:35 minutes to clean my apartment. Most of the time it will complete the cleaning cycle. The automatic docking feature is not so great. When is completes the cleaning cycle it docks successfully about 50% of the time. Sometime the battery is drained and the Shark can't dock. I can overlook this functionality as it is not as important to me as the other functions. It does not bother me to dock it manually. Charging time is very good. Durability is very good. Well made, not cheaply thrown together. Cleaning the Shark and emptying it's dust bin is very easy. The app software is good. I like how it tells you how much battery time remains. Easy to operate. I think to sum it all up and tell it like it is, I'd definitely purchase the Shark again. That is a telltale comment.

I love this little monster. No, I seriously love it. I showed up late to the robot vacuum party because I didn't think it was money I needed to spend. Then we rescued a dog. We should have gotten a dog who's hair matched the carpet, but yeah....no. We have hard floors with a lot of area rugs. This dude handles every transition with ease. The mapping feature is top notch. It's super easy to clean. I love being able to run the "ultra clean" cycle on just the living room when someone is coming over. The app has worked flawlessly, even when I start it from work. We also have thickly padded rugs in the kitchen in front of the stove, sink and the main work area. I thought I was going to have to move those when this little guy got to the kitchen, but nope- crawls up and down on them with no issues whatsoever. I don't do the entire house every day, but I do run it every day - usually half the house one day, half the house the other day, and ALWAYS include the living room, just because the dog hair is so noticable there. This thing better last a long time, because now I'm spoiled and don't want to picture life without it.

I don't have any pets, but I do shed long brown hair constantly. This vacuum chops up the hair so it doesn't clog the roller. I love the linear pattern, too. The metal strips work perfectly to block off sections of the house. The only con is that occasionally the back half gets caught on a sharp corner and "Jeeves" loses his diaper. And he keeps going. He should stop and send me a message. It's fine because I just put it back on and tell him to finish his work. Love this Shark Vacuum. [Previously owned a Roomba 600 series that wasted time and battery cleaning in a random pattern, marred my baseboards, was constantly clogged with hair, and was disgusting to clean.]

We have a open plan home. Kitchen, dining, living room, and our front entry way along with our back door are all in one big area of 885 ft2. It runs for 90 mins. First day it learned it’s way around. It did get stuck on our sliding glass door rails on the floor. Second day it had less bumps, and it stayed a few inches away from the door rail and did not get stuck. Battery power is pretty impressive to last 90 minutes and still have 40% left. There is a setting in the app for vacuum suction and I have it dead center. I figured Max suction would use more battery power and our first week I wanted to see how long it actually used. But the mid suction does a great job picking everything up off the floor. A piece of tissue paper had a little issue but when ‘Baby Shark’ hit it with the brush it was no where to be found. Cleaning - reading the instructions it does say to clean the wheels and other pieces outside of vacuum. Decided once a week I would do that with a Clorox wipe. After each use I do go and pull the trap out. It has been full each time. Hair, dirt, crumbs, random paper. I just dump in the trash. Take a small paint brush to clean the mesh filter. I am very happy that I pulled the plug and bought this. It helps me by doing a big job while I can do a ton of small ones - cleaning house is a daily thing.

We have had more problems with this vacuum getting stuck in places and unable to continue. The vacuum goes where it should not go (under items that are too low for the unit). It has a desire to get stuck under clothes washers, clothes dryers and any furniture that is close to the ground. The vacuum will stay in that predicament until the battery runs down and then you have to "hunt" to see where it is in its' journey to clean the floors. This has happened many times and, although the vacuum does a good job sweeping, it does not recognize low hanging items that will cause it to run down. Unless you have items in the house that have a lot of clearance, you might want to reconsider this vacuum. I would give it 5 stars for trying to go where it should not, but only 1 star for not recognizing a low hazard. Customer Service can be helpful if you can get the right representative whose native language is English.

Had this vacuum about 3.5 months now, running about 4-5 times a week through a 650 sq ft apartment on hard flooring with some shallow area rugs, and I love everything about it. Still working perfectly, nothing broken. I've needed to pull the roller out only twice so far, to remove hair that built up wrapped around the very end underneath the plastic housing where the brush cleaner doesn't touch, but if you just leave the screws out of the plastic piece that secures the brush roller, and rely only on the snap fit, each time you need to clear out any built up hair only takes maybe 30 seconds. (And my roommate has very long hair, so if nobody in your household has long hair, this shouldn't even be a problem you have to deal with.) Overall, this vacuum saves me a lot of time each day, and when I go around on the weekends to sweep or vacuum areas it can't reach, there's so much less dust and cat hair built up, since it's being vacuumed off the main floor daily before it can migrate into the nooks and corners.
