The Kryptonite Mini U-Lock features a 12mm hardened steel shackle with a bent foot anti-rotation design that resists bolt cutters and twisting leverage attacks. It includes two stainless steel keys with an ergonomic design to reduce torque and prevent bending or breaking. Extremely high quality—what I’d expect from a high end bike store. The ulock is a bit small to close while locked on both my frame, a bike rack, and my wheel though, despite being the recommended way to lock in the how-to guide. Also, I always find having a physical key hard though, so I wish I got a combination lock. The cord is nice and more secure, but I have a hard time attaching on my bike when riding without a bike bag. I have to wrap it around my bike frame multiple times and done like how the u lock rocks when I ride and gets in the way. Otherwise, very good product and would say it’s above the market quality!!! ... show more

    • Easy to use and to the point
This is one of two locks that I use on my ebike. It doesn't weigh much, but it helps me feel secure about locking my ebike in public areas. Sometimes I'm tempted to just use the lock and leave the cable aside, but it helps to keep a wheel secure to the post I'm chaining it to. It's length is pretty decent and neither short or too long. I've been using this for quite a while now and it's very easy to use. It's started to get some nicks here and there, but seeing as how I use it at least once a week, that's not a big deal. ... show more

    • Good enough protection where I live
I live in an area where bike theft is not very common, but I am sure if I left my bike sitting outside unlocked someone could take it. I got this bike lock because of the steel shackle and Kryptonite has a good name in locks. In other places I have lived I have had cable locks cut and my bikes stolen so I decided the U lock would at least take some time for someone to cut. They would also probably make some noise and alert people in my area. This bike lock is more their budget big box store brand. Think "Hey we want to sell these in Wal-Mart so lets make it a reasonable price" It's better than master lock, but can still be compromised with a skilled lock picker. If you live in a place where theft is high don't get this one. If you live in a place where crime rates are low and you will be locking your bike up for like an hour or so this should do well. In fact this would be a perfect lock for a kids bicycle at school. This will do well for most situations but if you have a nice bike in a busy city maybe opt for something with a bit more protection. ... show more

This pick-resistant lock comes with a coated four foot braided steel cable. I have used it for three months and can easily use the cable and lock to pass through both wheels, the bike frame, and a bike rack or fixed rail; however, securely locking multiple bicycles can be challenging due to the short cable length. This lock is a decently portable theft deterrent but cannot keep your bicycle secure from thieves with a portable grinder and plenty of time to cut the lock off! ... show more

    • DO NOT BUY: Stops locking properly after a few uses, bike stolen
I got this bike lock specifically because a friend said it was one of the sturdiest out there/would make my bike hardest to steal. It worked great for the first 5-10 uses, but then the key lock stopped turning all the way unless I 1) pressed extremely hard on the side of the lock with the key hole and 2) tried to lock it 10-20 times .. eventually one of the turns would work. I tried WD-40 and it didn't help. Two days ago, I was in a rush and didn't have the 10-15 minutes it took to lock my bike with the U-lock. So, I put the U-lock on my bike, and after it wouldn't lock from me trying to lock it for 5 minutes, I gave up. I positioned the lock so it looked locked, but it wasn't fully closed (since I couldn't turn the key!) I came back two hours later and my bike was gone. The lock was on the ground. I was going to submit a claim because I was under the impression that a high quality lock would have a lifetime warranty. But upon reading the fine print, you have to PAY $10 AND REGISTER YOUR LOCK WITHIN 15 DAYS OF PURCHASE. I did not do that, and now I am down both a bike and the money it took to purchase this lock. Not to mention, I bought the lock less than a month ago, and it is broken! Do not make the same mistake I did by buying this. ... show more
