Day one review: Assembly was easy and pretty straightforward. As soon as I put litter in (used the litter from our old litter box so the cats would know the smell), our 15lb cat hopped right in and used it. It is very quiet as it runs the cleaning cycle, recognizes our 12 week old kitten, easily connects to the app, the l.e.d. light can be changed to different colors with the app, and the collection bin is quite large. I will try to update after we have used it a few weeks. 1 week update: Still working great. Weight is a little inconsistent, but I imagine that is due to it being on carpet in part. The bin gets full a lot faster than expected (every 3 days) with 2 cats. A big turn off for me (don't know if all automatic litter boxes do this)is that a subscription is required to receive notifications on your phone about the status of the litter box. It isn't super expensive (less than $50/year), just annoying.

This litter box hasn't worked out very well for us. I'm super disappointed! Love the idea and I'd love the litter box if it worked properly! I didn't see on the ad that it only connects to very slow internet, like dialup almost! It won't work with our high speed internet and there's no chance my family is going to say let's change our internet service for the self cleaning litter box 🙄 So, that means no app to connect it to! Literally all this thing does is clean the waste out of the litter chamber and dump it into the bottom collection container! I wouldn't be upset if that went smoothly but it doesn't! Half the time the urine sits so long it ends up dried to the bottom and then when it does run thru a cleaning cycle, what's in there, dried, stays there until i manually scrape all of it out!!! Not fun at all! It's easier to just clean their regular litter box!!!!! The "sensor" technology in the model I got is worthless! I have to manually push the button for it to clean and then when that is running it gets stuck midway after dumping the feces and or urine, and won't straighten itself out or fill the litter back in to be used again. I have to literally keep pushing the button about every 3 minutes or so until i force it to the end of the cycle. Either that or it just doesn't work the way they advertise! I don't know but I feel super cheated and majorly disappointed! It does have odor just like any other litter box as well. That is a huge reason we decided to spend more than $200 on a litter box! My husband has asthma and he can't tolerate the smell. Money spent on junk! Not one feature that's supposed to work and make life easier does the job! I can't say one good thing about it and that's pretty sad 😭😭😭 oh yeah and I did reach out to the manufacturer and all they did is write back with all the same info that's on the instructions AND ASK ME A BUNCH OF INFO THAT I DON'T HAVE A CLUE ABOUT BECAUSE I CAN'T USE THE APP! WOW! is all I have to say!!!!!!!!!

I will start off by saying if you're on the fence about transitioning to /any/ automated litter box after scooping the old fashioned way - take the leap. I should have done this years ago. My cat has never been happier with his litter situation because every single time he enters the box, it's totally clean. Now for the particulars of this specific unit: - It's bigger than you think it's going to be. Give yourself at least a 2x2 foot square of space for it to sit in on the floor. It's maybe slightly more than 2 feet high. My cat has no trouble just hopping in, but if your cat is older and has trouble with their hips or back, a step stool or ramp might be a good idea. - It was easy and pretty self-explanatory to assemble, with one notable exception where the instructions weren't clear: There are 2 red plastic things wedged in on either side of the drum and held in with tape. There's a label on the drum that says to remove the tape. I left the red plastic things in there, and the drum got stuck on the initial setup cycle. Take the red things out. - Setting up the wifi function was easy and intuitive if you've ever used a smart home device like a lightbulb, camera, doorbell, etc. Just download the app via QR code, pair your phone, and connect it to your home wifi. - Speaking of the app, there are a handful of things I wish they'd done better: 1. The "Cat Weight" function is bunk. The app provides an estimate of the cat's weight every time they use the box. Even if I didn't know my cat's actual weight, I would know that this function flat-out does not work, because the number it gives varies by 4-5 pounds between uses. For a 10-pound cat, that's an unrealistic variance. 2. It took a bit of trial and error to figure out all the buttons in the app. You can use the app to set up and control various functions of the litter box, but they are not labeled very clearly and there aren't any further instructions, so I had to figure out what all the buttons did by trial and error. "Clean" runs the litter scoop cycle, while "empty" fully dumps the contents of the drum (including all litter). "Reset" runs a calibration cycle where it just rocks back and forth to distribute the litter. There are sliders to control the color and brightness of the interior light, AND the brightness of the indicators above the buttons on the front panel. "Bright value" refers to the inside light. "Flow Set" controls the brightness of the front panel lights (for some reason), which is nice, because by default at 100% they are bright enough to be significantly distracting. You can also change between manual or auto modes, and set the delay period between when it detects the cat entering and when it runs a cleaning cycle. I started with mine at 60 minutes just in case seeing it move scared my cat. Luckily, he took to it instantly and it hasn't been a problem. I still leave it at 30 minutes just to make sure the litter has had time to clump and set before the scoop cycle. 3. There are no instructions around when to add more litter, or how often it's recommended to do a full swap. I'm guessing it's probably based mostly on personal preference and how it's smelling. But I've had it for about a month now, and have only added a small amount of litter twice. Be careful not to add too much, because beyond a certain (not obvious) point, the "extra" litter just gets dumped into the waste bin during the cleaning cycle, so it goes to waste. Other than that, it's a great convenience and I'm very happy with it. The cleaning cycle is very quiet. I don't notice it running at all if I'm in another room. No bad smells as it seals all the discarded waste in the drawer underneath. I've only had to empty that once so far. It held about 2 weeks' worth of scoopings for a single cat.
