I believe the basis of a review should be done on whether or not the product meets your needs. For me, quality is a high priority. My needs were as follows. I was turning our bonus room above the garage into a gym. Being a gym rat most of my adult life, I thought it was time to bring the gym home. I was looking for an upright row machine that was reasonably priced i.e. Less than $300, small footprint, weighed less than 100lbs, and sturdy enough to handle a moderate amount of weight, and handle 1 or 2” weights. This machine checked all of those requirements. Even though it had only 4 reviews at the time of my purchase, I decided to give it a try. The good Arrived in heavy duty cardboard packaging without a scratch on it. The weight of the item was 31kg, or as I like to say, 68lbs. My wife and I unpacked it on the ground floor and took the items upstairs to assemble it. If your older, this worked out well. The steel was powdered coated and very sturdy giving it a rugged feel. In other words, I didn’t worry when I tightened the bolts that the steel would flex. As always don’t overtighten. I went about a ¼ “ past tight. It was easy to put together but will take a little time. I would recommend a second person to help, it’s just easier that way. The arms act independently which is very nice. Their action is very smooth giving it a commercial gym type of feel. There is a fixed set of handles and a rotating set for different preferences. I really like this feature. The foam padding on the seat and chest support is great making for a comfortable workout. The bad The adjustable handles have ball bearings inserted into the base of each handle. These do not stay in place and come out. This is not a good design. I really don’t think they’re needed. I ended up simply taking them out and they work just fine. Also, one of the support plates for the arms was shorter than the other (see pic). The result was that it blocked the hole preventing the bolt from being inserted for the attachment of the support plate. I reached out to the company via my order and they were simply great. They requested a picture to confirm what I was describing and then immediately ordered me another one. To be sure the problem was appropriately addressed, they sent two (see pic). I received them and got them installed without any issues (see pic). They also wished me a “happy life.” Who can argue with that? The seat does have a slight wobble to it but when locked into my exercise position it doesn’t wobble. For me this isn’t a big issue. The ugly No ugly, sorry. Summary/Recommendation: I have really enjoyed this machine and expect to use it for a long time. Overall, for a home gym product, it is well built even given the flaws mentioned above. I like the option of being able to use 1 or 2” weights if needed. If you are wanting a solid upright row machine for your home gym with a small footprint, and don’t want to spend an arm and a leg for one, I would recommend giving this one a try. Customer service was excellent. I rated it a 4 star and simply love it. If not for the issues listed above, it would’ve been a five star. ... show more
