I always trusted Seagate when it came to storage. I have Synology NAS with 6x8TB IronWolf Pro's still running for about 4 years, zero issues. When I upgraded my netowork to Ubiquiti and NVR I needed something solid. 24TB came available so I purchased bunch. Don't know how long it will last, but NVR is Setup with Raid5 So I really don't care for the first 5 years as that is included warranty from seagate. Drives are quiet and temps are about 40-41C range in fully occupied NVR Pro from Ubiquiti. So I would say normal. Ambient temp in my network closet is 20C. I bench tested each drive before installing into NVR to make sure I didn't receive a dead one (yes it does happen with every company once in a while). It tested out about 280MB/s which is quite nice for rotating drive. Great thing about 24TB size drives is that these now have double the cache of the 20TB ones at 512MB which is going to benefit NVR for sure. I have 12 cameras running and 2 door bells recording all events and AI events as well. I will update this review in about a year or so, to update longevity aspect of it, but I'm sure they will hold up just fine. Got them at great price here on sale so can't really complain about that either. ... show more

I use these Hard Drives for security cameras, and they work as intended. My expectation for HDD is 5 years. So I replaced the previous one with the exact same drive... which lasted 5 years. The other one that was purchased at the same time is still going strong, but I do expect it to die within the year or next. ... show more

I purchased a segate skyhwak 20TB HDD but it was defect out of box. so I returned it and get another one and 2nd one was defect out of box again. The seller refunded payment when they received return but still feel concerned to buy again.
