i was kind of worried really did not see this was a renew into after i ordered i had 4 pages loaded and ordered the wrong one. but so far i do not regret it.. no noise. the drive is reading at 3.6tb not 4tb the drive does not pick up in the window. but does pick up in the device manager. so for the ones that have no ideal how to fix that. just hold windows key and hit X go to drive manager. click on the drive and it well give you a option for that drive. click ok. then give it a drive letter and format it. really simple fix. all in all the drive seems to be working ok. i got this drive cause i fast formatted another drive by mistake and i am using a program to restore files and needed another drive to save what i can. i love this dudes packing like he/she packed this batter then a store package lol. also drive was clean like new. ... show more

    • Worked as expected, except that it failed after only 10 months.

Purchased this back in September. It has worked as one would expect for a new hard drive up until the last few days. Suddenly, it started making clicking noises and I have started having hard crashes from programs running on the drive and as of this morning the drive is completely inaccessible and HD Tune Pro reads the very few sectors it can access as damaged. The drive, nor the tower it is installed in have been moved since installation. So it is unlikely the damage is due to any external factors. Thankfully the drive was only use for programs and nothing was lost that cannot be recovered. However, after this experience I will likely never purchased "renewed" items again. ... show more

I do hear it spin up once in a while, but it's not loud. It is a 5400 RPM but with decent cache, just fine for most my games. Any big or intense games go on the SSD instead. The capacity read out to 3.7 TB which was more than I expected, there is always a little loss from the way it's measured etc. I always make it a rule to not buy second hand drives of any kind, but for the price, this was worth the risk. If it fails, it's just a bunch of games that cloud save user data so no loss risk at all except time. ... show more

The 4 tb hard drive was easy to install and Windiws 10 recognized that it was a greater capacity than 2 tb and suggested GPT to access the drive. It worked and the drive is functioning properly.
