I am loving this drive! It's way smaller than my last drive (previously I had a WD drive that was about the size of my full hand - this Seagate drive is about the size of my palm - even a little smaller) but it has twice the storage capacity! I also love that I can use this like a giant flash drive and just drag & drop files onto it without having to run backup software that takes an eternity. Granted, it still took an eternity to transfer nearly 1TB of data onto this new drive once I got it, but I just let it run overnight and it was done well before I woke up. I haven't activated the Toolkit software that lets you sync folders for backup purposes, but I don't know if I will or not. I kind of like just being able to drag and drop in the files that I know I want to save instead of having my computer hang onto backup versions of literally everything on my computer. All in all, this seems like a good drive. I'll probably be buying another Seagate drive in the future whenever this one gets full. ... show more

While it was smaller than I thought it would be, it is also VERY fast when connected directly to the USB-C port on my laptop. I purchased this hoping it would read/write as fast as my hard drive, I was not disappointed. Did I mention I can carry this in my pocket? I stayed with a 500Gb model because my laptop will not need anything larger, it is a good fit for my needs. ... show more

The 1TB capacity is as advertised, but the access speed is not. The website claims read speeds of up to 1030MB/s, but actual read and write speeds are both between 35 and 40MB/s.
