WORKS FLAWLESSLY ON WINDOWS 11 PC
Style: HDD w/Password Encryption Capacity: 1TB Color: HDD
I read all the reviews and ordered it because Seagate drives have been very reliable for me in the past. I was leery because a lot of the reviews said it was difficult to set up and that there were no instructions. I connected it to my USB port, and up popped the file names that were installed on the unit, and I chose the file for Windows, launched it and a screen came up telling me that I could choose to drag and drop my files to the unit or do a scheduled backup. I dragged my files over and they copied to the backup perfectly with no issues. I viewed them once backed up and they were all there. Easy peasy. Definitely recommend! ... show more

Works fine, one drawback

Works well, but quite disappointing that Seagate is so cheap that they didn't include a disk activity LED.

I'm now hooked on Hardware Encryption for External Drives
Style: HDD w/Password Encryption Capacity: 1TB Color: HDD
Easy plug-and-play for Windows 10 compatibility, and with a little searching one can find online how to fully operate this device. I'm a fairly technical person who has typically deleted all the onboard features, but I decided to try the hardware encryption, and I like it. It was easy to setup a device password, and I even tested "forgot password" before migrating data to this device. If I plug it into my desktop USB, then it's trusted (no password needed). Any other device requires a password to see the content. I was also able to assign a fixed drive letter so that the unlocked drive on my desktop is always L: I now have four Seagate drives, two that are at least 10 years old, and all still work. I compared several 1TB drives, and the cost per GB with my trust in Seagate quality gave me confidence that I was doing the right thing. At this point, I don't know why I'd buy a non-encrypted external drive. ... show more

Beware: Problematic ! Doesn't work with IPAD. Always in use. Can't EJECT.
Style: HDD w/Password Encryption Capacity: 2TB Color: HDD
Very disappointed. I used Seagate Backup Plus Slim before to backup data from PC and accessed the data when I only had an iPad. It worked great. I purchased this device (Seagate One Touch with Password) because it claims its special security features which sounds great for travelling. It turned out to be awful. Note it claimed this device works on both Windows and iOS. It turns out that iPad can't show the files on the drive because of "security feature". Their website suggests that for iPad, one needs to disable the security feature on PC first, then plug into the iPad. THIS TOTALLY DEFEATS the SECURITY FUNCTION. Even worse, when I followed its advice, it still can't show any files. This time it even can't show the device attached to the iPad. Also, on the Windows side, 9 out of 10 times there are problems with EJECT. I checked Task Manager, Resource Manager, Background Process.. Hell, nothing is using this device. Zero activity. If I invoke the Toolkit to lock/unlock it, then it can be safely ejected. It just shows the Toolkit app is doing something weird. Many times I had to reboot my PC in the middle of my work. Frustrating ! DON'T BUY unless you want to waste your time and money together ! ... show more
