  • Excellent HDD Drive for Synology DS923+!
The seller was incredibly helpful and provided tracking information and was shipped the same day! Received this HDD the following day early morning and was very well packaged and arrived without any damages! I installed this HDD to my Synology DS923+, went through the process of formatting and creating a storage pool, as this was the first HDD to use on this new NAS. The Seagate Exos X22 20TB SATA 6Gb/s 7200RPM 3.5-inch Enterprise HDD - ST20000NM004E (Renewed) HDD Drive contained an available storage capacity of 18616GB or 18.616TB of available storage, according to the Storage Creation Wizard of Synology. I performed a S.M.A.R.T test, took about three days to complete and my Synology NAS didn't detect any issues with this drive. I performed a stress test and transferred significant large sized files/videos over to my NAS using this HDD, and it handled everything very well! This HDD can handle read/write speeds of 25GB large filed videos. I recommend transferring large files to your NAS by hardwiring it directly to your PC, instead of transferring over WiFI to get better transfer results. I will be adding large SSD cache NVMe M.2 drives to significantly increase read/write speeds on my NAS. Noise level on this HDD is not to loud, but you can definitely hear the click/clack sounds when there's activity on the HDD. It's not loud for me, as I store my NAS on my server cabinet of my home office. This is a great purchase and highly recommend it from this awesome seller! ... show more

  • Just be sure to test first
Got three of these to upgrade my nas. Just one did so far that wouldn’t even start just kept hearing the drive head click. Simple replacement with Amazon and got a replacement a couple days later. Ram a full extended test on each on my synology and 2 weeks later still no sign of bad sectors. I do keep my nas completely backed up to another unit so I wasn’t too worried about taking the risk. ... show more

  • Basically a brand new drive.
Was hesitant to order a renewed drive, shocked to see the drive stats are incredibly good. 4 total hours of run time to date, and one power cycle. Drive is literally brand new. Booted right up with zero issues. Immediately transferred 1TB of media library onto it with no problems and great speeds. Going to pull the trigger and buy 3 more for my unraid server. 🙏 ... show more

  • This particular hard came defective out of the box.
I was looking for a 20TB hard drive for data recovery. When it arrived today, I immediately opened the box and installed it into an external hard drive unit. I tried 3 different computers however, the hard drive made loud noises and was not recognized as a drive on any of the computers. Disk management couldn't find the drive. It was obvious that the hard drive was defective. As a result, I am inconvenienced by sending this defective hard drive back through Staples which is taking away from my valuable time. I guess its an risk buying refurbished junk. Sadly, they say their hard drives are checked before shipping, but I question that. ... show more

  • Work as described HDD
We have 6 of these HDD in our PC case. They work within spec. But are slow and a bit noisy read/write to drive. Can't beat the price for 22TB in 2023. SSD is 5 times faster in same PC but cost $$$$

  • Tons of Storage, Reliable Shipper
After researching forever to find a good $/TB to upgrade my NAS, I finally settled on recertified drives and went with this seller (Serverpartdeals wouldn't ship to APO). Despite warnings on Reddit about recertified drives from Amazon, my experience with these have been so far solid. I bought 2x20TB Exos X22s Both drives were shipped in anti-static bags, and each drive was in a specially fitted extremely padded bubble wrap enclosure within a cardboard box. There was even more padding in the outer box, so I wasn't worried at all that they were damaged during international military shipment (notorious for being the roughest on USPS packages). Plugged both drives into my Unraid and they were detected no issue. Ran SMART tests on both and both were good to go. On the Exos front, there is a bit of noise on first boot, and if you are doing heavy writing/reading then they are a bit loud, but that's what you expect from this level of drive. Transferred 5TB+ of data to one of the drives without issue. Price was killer and product was solid, no reason to worry about them being recertified! ... show more

  • They work well!
I bought 4 of these for my ds918+. Two of them only had 24 hours of run time and the other two were just under 100 hours. They’ve been running perfectly for about a month now with no issues. I will be buying more for my expansion bay soon.

  • Awesome drives
The drive came in incredibly timely manner they were inexpensive and well I know they were refurbished My guess is that considering they still have a full 2-year warranty on them there will be no problems moving forward
