SMART info said the 3 drives I got had 0 hours on them. Not sure what the deal is if the values were wiped or what, but I basically got 3 brand new drives for way cheaper than retail pricing. Don’t know what’s going on with hard drive pricing lately but pricing was ok on this drive. Some cosmetic scratches so I was worried but the drive works and passes health checks. This thing is loud however so be advised.

Bought a pair of these to install in my 4-bay enclosure, drives packaged great, no defects on outside of drive. Installed in enclosure, and they initialized with no bad sectors. Would definitely recommend for someone looking for affordable home storage!

Without long term testing I can't say much about reliability, but the pair in my Synology NAS (Raid 1, mirror) spun up and formatted and are working fine. They are not quiet, but they are enterprise drives. If that worried me, I'd put them in another room...

    • Not Renewed! 57,000 Hours on these drives.
THese drives have 57,000 Hours = 6.5 Years . These are not renewed or Reman drives. I would imagine these were pulled from production Wiped then put in Sealed bags. Im gonna run some more tests on these. These are for a backup of a backup so If one fails Its not that huge of a risk. However If you are looking to use these as Main drives I would avoid it. ... show more

We received these "factory refurbished" units, however, a quick check revealed 31k hours use time, so these could not have been factory recertified/renewed, as they would have shown 0 hours. The other item to note is that I was a bit surprised by the age of the drive we received, they were branded 2017, so 7 years old was slightly more than I expected. All in all, performance in a ZFS-Z2 has been satisfactory and several months in no failures. ... show more
