  • Maestro Holdings jumped through hoops to resolve my issue. Customer service was exemplary.
Size: 8TB Style: SAS
I ordered six 8Tb SAS drives for a customer server. One failed in about six months and Maestro Holdings responded to my email request for assistance immediately. I sent the info, they sent a return shipment tag, I sent the bad drive out and had the replacement delivered in SIX DAYS! That included the shipping time back to them. I was never without fault tolerance on my server as the installation had a hot spare. I'll be continuing to do business with them. Thanks Brad and the "Maestro Team"! ... show more

  • High Failure rate. Not new drives
Size: 4TB Style: SAS
Bought 4 of these in November of 2018. Had one fail in August 2019, and one just failed today (December 1, 2019). This is nowhere the 5 years Seagate warrantys their drives for. I checked the serial number at Seagate's website and was informed that the drive was sold as part of a larger system. Definitely a used drive. ... show more

  • Drive is NOS but IS NEW. Works like a charm and there was under an hour of power on time
Size: 4TB Style: SAS
Just wanted to make sure you all know that this drive IS indeed new, just not produced recently. They stopped manufacturing these drives to make room for higher capacity, newer technology. That being said, I had a drive go down in a RAID 5 from a few years back that has been going non stop and needless to say, I needed to replace the drive. I found this one and it fit the bill perfect and a lot less than the 300+ I paid when I bought them originally. Now if i intended on upgrading, I would get a bunch of 8TB or higher capacity drives but I didn't want to go another grand for a 50% utilization Raid anyway. I just needed to get files off the raid in the first place that weren't accessable previously... and now I can do that, and the drive is performing as it should... If you need to replace a drive in a RAID, this is a no brainer, the drive is in perfect condition and works like it should. If you are starting anew, I wouldn't recommend going this route unless you buy a bunch extra, because THEY AREN'T MADE ANY MORE. That being said I highly recommend seller and this drive regardless... ... show more

  • Sold as NEW, but received USED
Size: 3TB Style: SAS
Purchased 28 of the 3TB SAS drives listed as NEW. All 28 drives had between 1600-2000 days of power on time on them. 4-5 years of power on time! Their dates of Manufacture were all between 02/2014 and 08/2014. The manufacturer warranty is already expired on them. At this price point not surprised nor upset about the age of the drives. The Lifetime writes on them all are less than 3TB so it's not like they've been heavily used. The power on may actually be a good thing keeping the drives healthy instead of having the head parked on them for the 9 years since the manufacturer date. All, but 1 drive were error free. Contacting Seller, "Endless Technology Solutions" to reconcile issues. Will update when I have a resolution. ... show more

  • SAS is not the same as SATA
Size: 2TB Style: SAS
Bought SAS by mistake. Make sure you click SATA! I bought this thinking it was compatible with your average SATA hard drive enclosure... Nope, my bad. This is a special type of drive that only works in server-class hard drive controllers that cost hundreds of dollars. Make sure you choose SATA. Ugh, they should have SATA as the default, not SAS. ... show more

  • Good stuff
Size: 8TB Style: SAS
Using 4 of those drives with LSI-9361 12GB/s controller. Real life gives a transfer rates of 8-9GB/s in a moderate data load scenarios. This is 1.5x the SATA III. Disk are in the HP server for 6 months now - no issues.

I have used many of these drives and had a fairly high failure rate. The RMA was easy and so long as these are used in a redundant array are a great buy.

  • They are spinning nicely and quietly
Size: 3TB Style: SAS
So far, I have nothing to complain about when it comes to these drives. They are spinning nicely and quietly. Seagate makes some very nice drives. I have been using their drives for well over 15 years now. I do prefer the enterprise line of Seagate drives as they are the only drives approved for use with enterprise grade RAID controllers (see card mfg supported lists). ... show more
