  • Excellent price; fast delivery
Just needed to replace a failed drive in my NAS. Works perfectly.

  • durable, perfect for Synology server
I'm using 4 of these drives in my Synology server to give me a larger capacity, and they work great. No issues out of any of the drives in nearly 2 years, quiet when running, and easy to swap in and out. With drives, the main thing you want them to have is reliability, and this one (so far) seems to have it! ... show more

  • Huge data capacity
I installed two of these drives for my daughter's PC that I built for her. 4 TB x 2 = a Hugh amount of data. Being Seagate they are worth the $$ I paid for them.

  • Good for the price of $50 and storage space
Well, it's not an SSD and not the fastest. But worked for me. I have a Lenovo Thinkcentre M93 PC. Took out the CDROM since I got an external one anyways. Slapped this 4TB SATA HDD. Device manager picked it up with no problems right away. Formatted and created partitions with ease. Max transfer from one HD TO this was around 130MB/s and slowest was at 40MB/s so take that for what it's worth. If you're one of those that have super sensitive hearing, then you'd best just bypass this drive. It's not noisy to me, but you can barely hear the HD working. Transferring back and forth, no problems with dropped or lost files. Works just fine for storing and general use. But wouldn't use it for installing games or other files where quick access read and write is needed. Got the SSD for that. Other than that, can't really complain for $50. I divided it into two partitions and use one for Daily Backup. Yes it's renewed And seller states 3yr warranty on it. So...only time will tell, how well this HD holds up. Didn't really want to mess around with some of those WD drives. Don't be afraid of the "Renewed" ones...some of them have better warranty that some new drives. ... show more

  • Absolutely RECOMMEND, A+ Storage/A+Price
The media could not be loaded. Seagate is no newcomer to my Production, filmmaking business, as you can see on my profile, I own several drives. 3.5”, 2.5”, Firecuda, And also Western Digital Black enterprise drives. It’s imperative that I maintain HUGE BACK UP ARCHIVES OF MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF FOOTAGE. I produce PODCASTS, VideoCASTS, I shoot full Broadcast 4.2.2.,10,12 Bit Sports footage, and NOT ONLY IS THE HARDDRIVE NEED TO LAST, normally on all the time, but It NEEDS TO BE FAST. I use the Seagate Hybrid Firecuda a lot, but I prefer to keep those as main drives integrated with the editing process/workflow. The WD Black ent drive had been a got to larger archive drive, as I use what works. Windows is a crazy platform, several times it’s turned external HDD’s into RAW data because of a glitch in updates. Toshiba, WD, have fallen victim to requiring a total recovery of data. Seagate has never failed, while all the drives were in the same docking station so……. When I saw 4TB, Constellation ES, a longtime tried and true enterprise class drive for the price of this one, I figured no way can I lose. *****PLEASE NOTE; windows DOESNT recognize over 2tb of external storage as MBR, you must bless the drive as GUID, or GDI, at first then 4TB, will appear and can be formatted as NTFS. As well Seagate provides all apps, and drivers for their hard drives, this one being 7200rpm, and it’s churns data transfer of LIVESTREAMS, 4K Footage, and podcasts, as fast as even the SSD’s I’ve got attached. I cannot stress enough, based on read/write speeds, and smart tests, as well as health tests, the Seagate CONSTELLATION ES, enterprise drive, 4Tb, at the Amazon price, ***{{ I chose a refurbished one, BUT IT CAME FULLY SEALED, AND TOTALLY RAW UNINITIALIZED}}, which seems new to me. I actually forgot the 4tb rule, and both Amazon and Seagate themselves WALKED ME THRU A QUICK RESTART THAT CLEARED THE DRIVE BACK TO RAW 4TB, and it’s working perfectly now. I review a lot of products, I use them all, and this is my main ARCHIVE BACK UP FOR ALL CURRENT PAYING PROJECTS!!! Highly recommend! Thanx Amazon and Seagate!!! ... show more

  • 55,000 hours
all the drives from this lot have 55,000 hours. yes the drives are rated for 2 million hours but you have to then wonder, "why did they replace all these drives so early?" failures that is why. these drives were never good from the factory. and i feel like the hours should really but put in the listing. they go to the trouble of clearing the drives so they could easily get the hours. heck even an estimated average would work. also, i sure hope the returns are not being resold. shipping one time is risky enough. 4 times, aint no way they weren't dropped. ... show more

  • Good but Old
This drive was made in 2013. when i got it it had just turned 10 years old and these drives have likely had a productive life. the drive seems to run fine but when it spools up after sitting at idle its very audible. lots of noises going on with this drive. im not sure if thats just how these old server drives are. great cheap storage otherwise. ... show more
