I just received mine today and immediately got to it. I'm a 4b/4C Black girl with locs (not fully formed yet but they are getting there!) I'm a Black Ginger so my natural hair color is a medium auburn, reddish brown with blond streaks throughout. Over the years I've color treated my hair many times, before I went natural and even on my natural hair journey (I'm 12 years natural.) The last 6 or so years I have not used color and the last year I've noticed premature goldish whites at the root and throughout my locs. I decided to try this color rinse today and it worked well! It darkened my roots and entire head. There was ONE very short white hair that was missed along my forehead and that's probably from me wiping the excess color off of my forehead. The rest of my hair the color took and very well. After using this color kit I followed it up with John Frieda Midnight Brunette Color Deepening Shampoo (after reading great reviews) and Renpure Coconut & Vitamin E Leave-In Conditioner (which smells immaculately beautiful!) Both of which I also got on Amazon and received today. I am currently retwisting my locs with Creme of Nature with Argan Oil Perfect Edges Extra Firm Hold, which I use pretty regularly for retwists. My hair had already gotten naturally darker, aside from the light brown, blonde/gold and white hairs. It was beautiful because it was natural but it was a lot going on and I wanted a more uniform color. THIS did it! This color rinse is IT! I will be using it from now on. It's quick and easy to apply and does the job! I may edit and add pics after I'm done and later to show how long it lasted but I was so excited to share how well it works that I had to leave a review NOW. Try it out! It has worked amazingly for me.

I’ve had to color my hair since I was young (Thank you anxiety). The past several years I became severely allergic to hair color, even spent hundreds of dollars at one of those fancy salons thinking maybe it was just the box stuff (still had an allergic reaction). My scalp would become highly irritated and my neck and scalp would get these golf ball sized painful lumps…I stopped coloring my hair a few years ago terrified of the pain. My hair was getting so bad with all the glittery strands of silver and I just couldn’t look in the mirror anymore. I searched and searched for an alternative. This product was suggested, so I bought it. But again, was terrified and waited a few months to finally muster up the courage to try again to color my hair. The scent is not even close to being as strong as other hair coloring products, it was gentle enough to feel no burning sensation. It washed out very well as other dyes seem to take forever to wash out after first application, and the best part??? NO allergic reaction!!! No lumps, no irritated scalp!!! Coverage was full and my hair feels so good! I can’t even begin to express how happy I am to finally find a hair color that doesn’t cause me so much pain! Thank You!!!

I know most people are coming to this product in search of a hypoallergenic hair dye so I’ll cut straight to the point. This did not irritate my allergies at ALL. I’m someone who only recently developed a hair dye allergy (after previously bragging for years that I felt no pain or burn from any type of dye or bleach) and as a natural blonde who longs to be brunette and had already been through every color of the hair dye rainbow while in high school I was very frustrated. I tried other PPD-free dyes and they all had either little to no effect on coloring my hair or would end up irritating my allergies regardless and boy did they stink! But this dye is my new holy grail. Beautiful color, simple application reminiscent of my old go to box dyes, no irritation, and no pungent odor! My hair feels great as well! While first rinsing and drying it did feel a bit dry but as soon as I brushed it out it came back to life and felt soft and smooth. I’ve seen a couple reviews saying the color seems to fade. I haven’t had the time to properly test this yet but in my experience every dye, permanent or not, will begin to fade at one point or another. This is a dye I’m willing to take the chance with. It’s been so hard to find a decent hypoallergenic dye and this works so well and is so affordable, I don’t mind if I end up having to touch it up frequently. I’ve also seen a lot of people using this for grey coverage but I used it for a full head coloring. My hair length is a bit between my collarbone and chest and it’s all decently thick and I was able to color all of it while still having some dye leftover. I cannot recommend this dye enough! Just in case you need any additional context on my personal case to see if this dye is right for your needs: I am 22. Have been bleaching and dying my hair from streaks to whole head since I was 11. My allergy developed somewhere around 2ish years ago. I do not get any kind of direct scalp irritation from regular dye besides some subtly itchiness. My allergy is mainly in the form of a rash developing on my skin wherever the dye came in contact, and will spread to surrounding areas depending how much I give into scratching it. The rash will typically last for around 3 days after dying before clearing up. Even the best recommended PPD-free dyes I’d tried before would at least irritate my ears. This dye is the first one I’ve tried to cause no irritation AND deliver true-to-color results. The shade I purchased was Chocolate Cherry. It is the color I will continue to use. I hope this review helped you out in deciding if you’d like to buy this product. If you try it and it doesn’t end up working for you I will take full responsibility for convincing you to buy it.

I am a 47 year old male who uses this product mainly for grey coverage near my temple and sporadically throughout. This product is easy to use, covers my grey, and lasts a long time (starts lightly fading after 5ish weeks). As almost EVERY reviewers has stated...go lighter. In my case my hair is naturally medium brown. This medium brown shade turned my hair almost...black. I let the product set for the full 30 minutes so maybe I could have adjusted the time but that seems too experimental for my tastes. I have tried light brown (still too dark), dark blonde and medium blonde. The dark blonde best matched my hair so two shades lighter. The medium blonde was a hazelnut brown and looked nice...so 3 shades lighter. So, again, take home point is go light and you won't be disappointed with the product.
