I've been loyal to a different well-known hair color brand for over 20 years, but after using it twice now, I can definitely say that Schwarzkopf is superior. Yes, it was a touch more expensive (not much), but it not only has a pre-color serum for the ends of the hair, but a generous amount of color and an after-color conditioner. The color isn't fading or changing, either, and was true to the color displayed on the box. It covered my white roots without leaving them paler than the rest of my hair. I decided to change to Schwarzkopf because of claims that it causes less hair breakage; the jury is still out on that. I'll have to use it for six months or so before I can decide if that is truly the case. But I am genuinely happy with this hair color. ... show more

After spending hundreds of dollars at the salon with tones that only last a week or two I finally found permanent color that did the job! Covered the grays perfectly, before pictures shows my natural hairroots and it did match pretty nicely, my hair actually feels better in health state wise after coloring, hopefully it will last a few months before I have to recolor again, unless of course my new growth will match it up, almost wish it was a bit darker as well, maybe needs a second round, but I am pretty impressed with this one! The color is great, and my hair is very soft and not dry after coloring, but the pre color conditioner or serum made my hair stick together and was so knotted that I didn't think I was going to be able to pull it apart to section It off! I I had combed through my hair before I started, so it was not tangled previously. I thought I was going to have to cut off some of my hair, which is fairly long, below my shoulders. I couldn't help but think that if I was new to coloring I would be freaking out. I was able to pull it apart, and get the coloring on but I was worried that it may not be even because I was doing kind of a balayage effect. I have been thinking about going gray, but not liking gray on me at all. But after using my usual 9.1 color, I am so happy with it that I am staying a blonde! ... show more

Best box dye I've used. I won't use any other brand. I use the dark blue/black on my own hair and I kept seeing commercials for this new platinum one so I decided to try it on my mom's hair. I can't speak for how this would work on natural dark hair, but as you can see my mom's gray is very dark. I touched up her roots and mixed the remaining color with conditioner to refresh her ends and I was very impressed with the results. Lightned as well as any other bleach that I've used. It comes with a purple toning conditioner but when we put it in her hair it didn't really look that purple and I wasn't sure it was actually going to tone but it did. I received a pre color and post color creme serum and the color tube and activator. All this halabalo and my hair ended up a dry tangle after rinsing color out. My hair didn't have the usual soft, healthy hair feeling. The color covered my few gray strands and was like the color photo. I always heard 'you get what you pay for' but in this case, not so much. Schwarzkopf Keratin - Platinum Blonde 001 - This will do the same thing as any bleach so you’ll need a toner. The conditioner included is not a strong toner. The result comes out pretty yellow, not quite platinum on medium brown hair. The texture seems soft for now but will have to see after washing again if it holds up or what the actual damage was. Used all of the products and followed all of the steps as written on the insert. Gave it 4 stars because it does a decent job for a bleach, but you’ll need a toner so it’s not a one-step hair dye. UPDATE: the hair stays soft so that’s a plus! It’s like a conditioning bleach. Definitely need a toner though or maybe put the Light Ash Blonde from Schwarzkopf on top, but that would be a double process and may be too harsh. ... show more
