Cons

Should I Buy It?

If you are looking for a reliable commercial vacuum for intensive cleaning sessions and don't mind its weight and simplicity, the Sanitaire Force Upright Vacuum could be a good fit. However, for residential use and especially for homes with pets or lots of stairs, consider other options that are lightweight and better suited to deal with hair without facing maintenance issues.

  • Poor Quality Product – Stops Working After a Month
Style: Vacuum
I used this product about three times a week for regular cleaning. After just one month, it started shutting down unexpectedly and now requires over an hour before it can be used again. This is extremely frustrating. I also tried reaching out to Amazon for support but haven’t received any response so far. Very disappointed with both the product and the customer service. ... show more

  • Good vacuum
Style: Vacuum
We have bought several of these over the past few years for our commercial cleaning business. Staff like them and they hold up well. Only thing we feel could be improved is the pull out hose attachment could be a bit longer.

  • Commercial Vacuum

Oh my, I love it ! The suction power is awesome! It is better than my Dyson Vacuum, that I have had for years.

  • Poorly designed
Style: Vacuum
Poorly designed!!! I'm constantly stepping on the long cord which disconnects it from the short cord on the vacuum. Then I have to turn off the vacuum, replug and start again. I definately DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS VACCUUM!!

  • They redesigned it with 2 major design flaws so I had to return
Style: Vacuum
I used to buy this vacuum for years for cleaning houses. The new update they did was attach a plug 🔌 in the middle of the cord so that it sticks out and scratches up my left thigh when I push the vacuum back and forth. Very odd and I hate it. I liked when it just had one long cord. Now this model version simply won’t work because the cord ‘lock’ (where you wind up the cord after your done) is so tiny and narrow that it won’t hold to the cord. Meaning, when you’re done vacuuming the cord will just be loosely flopping around and there’s no way to secure it. I have no idea why they’d create a clasp that is 2 sizes to small to hold the cord to itself behind the vacuum. I’m very sad 😢. This used to be my favorite and now I have to go on a hunt for a new one unless or until they fix these 2 flaws! Tired of getting my leg scraped up on the plug at the back and not being able to secure the cord. ... show more

  • Quiet, simple powerful vacuum.
Style: Vacuum
Older design drawbacks, none are a dealbreaker, see photos. Very quiet unit, powerful vacuum, lots of plastics but appears durable. Should outlast current home use lightweight units, a fair trade for durability. Buy it, this is a good purchase. Uses LS type paper bags, found HEPA bags and switching to them. • Heavy machine. Assembly required. Made in Mexico.
Style: Vacuum
This only required a little assembly but it was annoying. There are two long screws to put in the back after you slide it together, but the back is black plastic so it was hard to find the holes. I put on my glasses and turned on extra lights so I could see the holes. Then the screws only went halfway in, so I got my husband to try them with a larger screwdriver. He only got a few more turns before giving up. Still, I got the rest put together with ease, except that the brush did not stay in the holder. Instructions just say to "install dusting brush into holder." There is a little diagram on the black plastic that is easy to miss. The cord had to be installed too, which is not difficult. Mine came with a long heavy cord, which my husband observed is too thick to be coiled easily. Controls are simple, at least if you have used a similar model previously. Suction seemed good. This is not as noisy as some vacs but I would not say it is quiet. I got tired quickly using this because it is heavy. I think this is intended for younger, stronger people. The instruction booklet seems good, with clear diagrams. It is in three languages and applies to two models, one with dust bags and the other with a dust cup. I got the model with dust bags, because I am so over the "convenience" of dust cups that make me sneeze and have to be cleaned. The booklet is printed in Mexico for Bissell Homecare. Do review the safety procedures even though you think you know all this stuff. "Do not put vacuum cleaner on furniture or stairs." ... show more
