You know, bring born in the first half of the 90s, you really get to see and appreciate tech blowing up. Mayne not as much as our parents coming from PDP11s and DOS. But a good amount all the same. I remember, as a kid when 56Kb was a fast throughput and 512MB was an acceptable USB storage size. What a time, an order of magnitude more storage is on a device a fourth of a regular USB. While this SanDisk drive is easy to use and quite fast there are some limits. First limit is the USB A connector. Most recent laptop/desktop computer manufactures have switched to USB C, which requires the buyer to seek an adapter and may limit the speed of the USB 3 connection. Second once the user places the drive to the USB port and wishes to remove the drive to another machine getting the drive out can be a challenge. Dead on arrival. Tried the flash drive on 3 different computers and not one would recognize it. Will exchange and may change rating depending on how the next drive functions. Update: Received a new flash drive in 2 days. The drive is advertised at 512 GB but you only get to utilize 460 GB. Got this because the bigger USB (sticks) are always getting bent. These are much easier to use, I got this one for my car so it doesn't stick out of the USB port much. I have 1000's of songs, that's all I use this one for. Works very well, though I did wash it once, it doesn't hurt them. Just don't drop it, or it will definitely be gone forever.
