  • Auto Everything - Easy to Use! Holds a Lot, Full Clear View, Good Value
I've had several flocks of chicks and ducks over the years and recently decided to start hatching my own because of how poultry are treated and negatively affected that come from hatcheries. I have managed to get some nice ones from Amish and other neighbors occasionally in the past, but I like to try different breeds which aren't always available, and I thought raising them from birth would be best if I can do it successfully for the chicks, myself, and our kids who can learn and watch the eggs develop and chicks hatch. I've researched numerous incubators and I really like how this one automates so many things to make it much easier to operate so you're unlikely to make mistakes and gives the chicks a better chance at success. I am hoping to have a 70% success rate at least with this incubator, which controls temperature and humidity without your having to top up the water constantly, it gently slowly turns the eggs to mimic how a mother hen would, and there's plenty of viewing room with the clear huge dome to observe what's going on with your eggs to make sure they're doing well. I wouldn't fill it completely with eggs just so it's not over-crowded, and you could certainly put more of a smaller sized egg, but I want to make sure once the chicks hatch they are comfortable, but you could get a good sized home flock using this incubator - at least 30 I would think. Considering everything you get, it's a great value! ... show more

  • Worth the money
Color: Grey Size: 48 Eggs(16.14''× 16.14''× 6.69'')
For the money, well worth it. Actually bought a second one. Does not hold/control humidity well. I've learned my normal eggs hatch with varied humidity from 50% upto 70%. Set at 45% trying to do the "Dry hatch" but humidity is around 56%_65%. Candled the eggs, all looked fertile. Ease to use. Would recommend it. ... show more

  • Professional results for the backyard flock
My first impression was that teh plastic felt a bit lightweight, but after running it for several days, the performance has proven to be very robust. I was worried the auto-turner might tilt the eggs too far, yet the reality is the gentle 2-hour rotation simulates a broody hen perfectly. It looks much sleeker than the industrial incubators I’ve seen at the university, and for an IT guy who loves data, having the temperature, humidity, and day countdown all on one LED screen is fantastic. Between the kids' science fair preparations and the pets constantly wanting to see what’s in the ""glowy box,"" this incubator has stayed very secure. The sound of the alarm is sharp and clear, which is a necessity when you’re busy in another room and the humidity drops below 50%. It handled a full batch of 48 eggs without any ""cold spots,"" thanks to teh effective air circulation fan. I noticed the transparent lid stays clear of condensation if you keep the room temperature stable, making it perfect for taking photos of the progress. Initially, I found the instruction manual to be a bit brief regarding the specific humidity needs for duck eggs versus chickens, so I had to do a little extra research online. A small annoyance is that the power cord is just short enough that I had to use an extension to reach my preferred workbench. To get the best hatch rate, I found that letting the unit run for 24 hours before adding the eggs is a necessity to ensure everything is fully stabilized. It has proven to be a reliable choice for a household that wants to hatch their own poultry without the professional price tag. ... show more

  • Hatch match
I've been tinkering with backyard chickens for a bit now, and this egg incubator has turned our garage into a mini farm adventure that my 7 year old son absolutely loves helping with. We popped in some chicken eggs last month, and the automatic turning feature keeps everything moving without me having to babysit it every few hours, which is a lifesaver during my work-from-home days when I'm juggling Zoom calls and chasing after the kid. The clear view lets us peek in without disturbing the process, and we even caught a few chicks pipping through on a family movie night, turning it into this exciting live show. One thing I noticed is how quietly it runs, no annoying hum that wakes up the wife at night, but you do have to keep an eye on the humidity levels because if your room's too dry, it might need a little extra water tweak. It's perfect for someone like me who's not a pro farmer but wants to try hatching for fun or to teach the little one about life cycles. The built-in light for checking egg development is a cool touch, we used it to spot which ones were viable early on, saving us from disappointment later. Sure, it takes up some counter space, so if your setup's cramped, maybe think twice, but for us, it's been reliable and got most of our batch hatching successfully. I'd say it's worth every penny for the family bonding it sparked, especially when my son named the first chick "Clucky McCluckface" and paraded it around to his cousins. Just be warned, the excitement might lead to more feathered friends than you planned, but that's half the fun. ... show more
