Description

The popular Brinsea Maxi II EX has been redesigned to hold more eggs and be even more flexible. The single ring egg disk has been replaced by an innovative mix-and-match quadrant system available in 4 variants allowing users to incubate more eggs of the same size or eggs of different sizes at the same time. Perfect for incubating rare breeds and highly valuable eggs this 24-egg incubator provides the convenience of programmable automatic turning with the reassurance of digital alarms and integral automatic control of humidity. The new Maxi 24 EX is menu driven and extremely easy to use. In normal operation the display shows incubation temperature, humidity and turning status. Opening the menu allows the user to adjust incubation temperature, the unit °C or °F, incubation humidity %RH, turning interval down to a minimum of 5 minutes ideal for parrots, turning angle, cooling duration and high and low temperature alarm limits. Humidity is accurately controlled: just program the desired humidity level, keep the external humidity pump reservoir (not provided) topped up and the incubator does the rest. Eggs are turned by rotating egg quadrants. Four sets are supplied, one for 24 medium chicken eggs, one for 12 large chicken, duck or turkey eggs, one for 40 small quail eggs and one for 8 extra large eggs like goose. The clear walls of the egg chamber mean fantastic visibility of the hatching eggs without lifting the lid and the fan assisted design coupled with detailed airflow analysis results in exceptionally even heating of the eggs to ensure consistent and reliable hatches. Like all Brinsea products the Maxi 24 EX egg incubator comes with a 3-year warranty subject to registration.

This thing has been almost a total joke. First, I received a unit that had been pillaged for it's power supply, Amazon was good to make this right. Secondly, this unit was bought to control humidity. This is the ridiculous part, it doesn't even come close. What it does is allow water to flow uncontrollably all over the place. This is incredibly lame for something that costs this much. Unfortunately, I'm over a waterfall in a barrel as I can't just shut it down with eggs that are halfway mature. ... show more

I'm new to incubating eggs and this incubator is pretty easy to set up - just follow the instructions. You'll want to make sure that you have the specific temps and humidity level # for the type of eggs you're wanting to hatch (I'm doing turkey eggs). This is all automatic, except when it's time to prep the eggs for hatching. At that time the turning disc will need to be removed and turning function turned off and the hatching mat put in place. The unfortunate thing is that this unit only comes with one hatching mat. This is a nice incubator although a bit spendy, but it is worth it. ... show more

Set Up is a bit confusing. Had to watch a few videos on YouTube to get it right. That took a star off. Spent the extra money for a more accurate unit because hatching and turning goose eggs is almost impossible to stay on schedule. Also, A couple of months from now, bull snakes will be raiding the duck nests and we need a couple of hatches this year. The unit performs just as promised. Temps, humidity, turning intervals are very accurate. Once the pump tubing loop was figured out - as a left hander, I reversed in tibial direction of looping on water pump ( very ingenious design by the way), the unit works perfectly. Highly recommend. Start it a day or two before to make sure you're on target and to allow time to fix errors with the help from videos. The proof will be how successful the hatches are in 15 more days. UPDATE: Hatched out 5 goose eggs successfully (3 were infertile). Duck eggs and chicken eggs should be a breeze to hatch. Once set up, it frees up so much of my time and takes a lot of guess work. I’m new to hatching (goose) eggs but no matter what the breed, keep a sheet of paper to track the days, when to turn of rotating or candle the eggs. Highly recommend. This incubator is fantastic!! I bought a cheap incubator and it failed on 2 rounds of eggs. I used a digital thermometer and temps were swinging wildly. That will kill every peep. Brinsea is top of the line.

This is great for chickens and smaller. I, however, would NOT incubate ducks or anything larger in this, even though it says it can. Its way too small to hatch ducks and has a hard time with handling the humidity. I tried doing ducks and most died because of lack of room. But chickens and guinea fowel work great. ... show more
