I had been wanting to buy an incubator for awhile but had kept putting it off. After tons of research, and reviews, etc. The Maticoopx was top of my list, like #1 of only a few possible incubators. I had a broody hen, so I bought a dozen hatching eggs locally to put under her. Well by day 4 she broke her broodiness as well as 2 of the eggs. So my only option (to me) was to hurry and buy an incubator, thankfully I had already done all of my research on incubators, and as luck would have it, the Maticoopx was able to be here overnight and arrive early the next morning. Upon arrival, it was pretty simple and straightforward to set up, I do want to say that I have never owned or even used an incubator before. This incubator was very simple, I my opinion. Also, I did buy a thermometer/hygrometer just to be safe. After running the incubator for a couple hours, I added the eggs. Within a couple days I noticed a smell, I checked and found a leaky egg, I quickly handled the remaining eggs and they all appeared to be doing good, and developing. About a week later noticed a smell again, and had another bad egg. I do want to clarify, I do not believe or think that it's the incubators fault for the 2 bad eggs, it happens alot and given the bad start my eggs had, I truly didn't have high hopes that many if any would even hatch when I bought the incubator. Well on lockdown, I had 8 eggs that all appeared good, great air bubbles, etc. On day 20, that night 2 had started pipping. By the next morning a few more started pipping and throughout the day most had started to pip. On day 21 that night 4 fully hatched, overnight 2 more hatched. Day 22 we only had 2 eggs left, 1 that was pipped on the wrong end, and the other wasn't pipped at all. I was about to assist the egg that was pipped on the wrong end because it had been pipped for almost 24 hours with no progress, thankfully that was unnecessary because when I went in the room, that chick was almost completely zipped and out. After a few more hours the last and final egg hatched as well. So all 8 eggs hatched. All 8 are almost 2 weeks old, all are doing great and growing so fast. Overall, I would highly recommend this incubator. It holds temperature amazing, the humidity is a bit hard to control/maintain. In the beginning the humidity wasn't holding, but I think that was more of user error because like I said, first time owning and using an incubator, towards the end the humidity was better. After they all hatched and dried, clean up was simple enough. I let everything air dry after cleaning then ran the incubator for 12+ hours without water to ensure there's no moisture before boxing it back up to store for the next hatched (whenever that will be).

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Stars I purchased a MaticoopX for my first incubation project, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The incubator maintained temperature and humidity very well throughout the entire hatch. Setup was straightforward, and the automatic turning feature made the process much less stressful for a beginner. Out of 27 developing eggs, I had an excellent hatch rate, and the chicks emerged healthy and active. The humidity recovery after opening the lid was faster than I expected, and the controls were easy to monitor and adjust when needed. What impressed me most was how hands-off the incubation process became. As long as I kept an eye on the water levels and followed the hatch instructions, the incubator did the rest. For anyone looking for an affordable incubator that delivers reliable results, especially first-time hatchers, I highly recommend the MaticoopX. Overall, it exceeded my expectations and helped make my first hatch a success.

For the first time in a long time I wanted to hatch chicken eggs this spring. Which meant buying a new incubator. I thought I would share my thoughts. After a lot of research i settled on the Maticoopx 20 Egg Incubator to use for hatching chicken eggs from a very rare breed. I chose to get 2 20 egg instead of 1 30 egg because of the slightly smaller size, which fit better in the room and specific space that I had. It also allowed me to stagger egg hatches, with one incubator a week earlier than the other. I imagine having two units would also work really well in a scenario where one unit is used for lock-down while the other is used for the incubation process. I don't regret getting 2 of the smaller size instead of one larger incubator. The smaller unit size worked great for my situation. I tested both units with a Govee thermometer and hydrometer, and both were almost spot on. Maybe .5 to 1 degrees off near the edge but exact right in the center, and at most 1 to 1.5 percentage difference on the moisture. The unit has a fan which circulates the warm air and humidity and in my 2 incubators did a great job. I don't feel like it had any dramatic hot and cold spots. The chicks hatched in a tight cluster, with two on late day 20, and the rest either on the due date or the day after. I did a dry hatch, so I had to be creative with how to keep the humidity down. With one I set a cup of water near the water entry point (the shoe string method still caused too much humidity). With the other incubator I used plastic wrap to cover almost all of the water reservoir, and then used the included water bottle to keep that reservoir filled. The last one worked the best. The humidity was kept rock solid at 28-30% throughout the hatch. When lockdown time came I uncovered even more of the water reservoir to bring the humidity up to 65% to 70%. I liked the way the eggs are handled in this unit. Instead of being rolled around in a circle, the eggs are cradled and then once an hour tilted the other direction. My eggs were shipped, so for a few days I didn't set up the cradles to be rocked to give the air sacs more time to settle down. On cradles that didn't have a full set of eggs I used rubber bands to cushion them in an upright position. The cradles and the tilting mechanism are able to come out easily when it was time for lockdown, and all the pieces of this part of the unit are easy to clean. I have a separate egg candler flashlight, but used the one that is built into the lid of the Maticoopx most of the time. These were lighter colored eggs, and with room lights out the built-in candler did it just fine. Plus, by using the built in candler I could then use my separate candler to shine light in from both the bottom and the top. This gave me a great view of what was going on inside the egg (see attached picture). I don't know if it is powerful enough for the Marans chocolate brown eggs, though. The main body and top of the incubator have to be hand-cleaned, as there are electrical components in both. Yes, it's a pain, but it is with almost any incubator. It wasn't that hard to clean and I don't find this a minus to the unit. Cleaning is just a fact of life when using any incubator. I used Dawn dish soap and then a final clean with a bleach water mix. I did buy an aftermarket 3-D printed divider from a buyer on Etsy that could divide the interior of the incubator into 2 or 4 sections. In one of the incubators I used it to divide the eggs so that newly hatched chicks weren't playing egg-soccer with the still-unhatched eggs. It was a very nice addition (do a search for the incubator model to find them). The units are all cleaned and put away for the season, but I'm looking forward to using them again next spring. They were a great purchase and I recommend them to anyone else wanting to do smaller hatches.

These are my favorite incubators, hand down. I have had my original for two years basically running nonstop, and just added a second one to my collection. Outperforms farm innovator products, kebbonix products, and all other cheap amazon incubators. Very accurate, and the variation in temperature is very minor compared to others. Holds humidity perfectly. I have had my best hatch rates ever with this incubator. I need 3 more!

I’ve only used it once so far but I love this thing. I’ve been using 2 Kebonnixs 12 egg incubators, but at the start of my last hatch the egg turner on one wasn’t working, so decided to try this one. Even though the Kebonnixs and the Maticoopx have the same features, the Maticoopx is an improvement in almost every way. In comparison: • Egg turning (per hr) – o Maticoopx – they sit upright and are rocked back and forth o Kebonnixs – sit on their side and are rolled over and over • Setting humidity / hatch days / temp o Maticoopx – pretty straight forward o Kebonnixs – not as intuitive – I have to use the instructions each time. • Keeping humidity steady o Maticoopx – included water bottle is installed & keeps the humidity steady thru the entire hatch, including when it has to be raised for lock-down. Very little hands on o Kebonnixs – you have to manually fill the well and it’s hard to keep steady. You have to fill fairly often. • Hatching area o Maticoopx – nice large area for hatching chicks. On lock-down I placed eggs around the outside edge leaving the center area clear for them to move around. o Kebonnixs – Since it’s a donut type setup, much less area for them to move around in. They are constantly jostling unhatched eggs. • Number of eggs o Maticoopx – My last hatch was 36 eggs, which I had split between the 2 Kebonnixs, so I moved 18 eggs from the non-working one into this and I could have put them all in here easily o Kebonnixs – they hold 18 max. And sometimes the egg turner bogs down because an egg rolls wrong and keeps it from turning. • Hatch Percentage – could be a fluke, and these were shipped eggs o Maticoopx – Only used once, but of the 18 eggs 12 hatched o Kebonnixs – Of the 18 eggs, 8 hatched and they didn’t start hatching until 1.5 days after they had already started hatching in the Maticoopx • Back light on controls o Kebonnixs – nicely backlit and easy to read in a dark room o Maticoopx – either it doesn’t have it, or in my hurry to get it set up I missed that part of the instructions • Automatic turn off of egg turner on lock-down o Kebonnixs – works every time o Maticoopx – I won’t know until a new hatch. When the Kebonnixs went into lockdown I automatically turned of the turner on this one • Egg candler – they both work the same, but honestly I use a separate hand-held one that I find works better I think the Maticoopx is well worth the price difference (which isn’t really much). Also I will say that in both incubators I had to use after market 3D printed trays/inserts to accommodate the small size of quail eggs and those worked fantastic. I also purchased a 3D printed handle for the lid of the Maticoopx (highly recommended). I’ll be throwing out my non working Kebonnixs and the other Kebonnixs will be for emergency backup going forward.

This incubator is very easy to set up and use. The digital temperature and humidity display is clear and accurate, making it simple to monitor the conditions. The automatic egg turner works great and saves a lot of time. It runs quietly, feels well made, and has plenty of space for eggs. I bought the Maticoopx incubator in April last year because I wanted a second unit to run alongside my Nurture Right 360° Egg Incubator for the 2025–2026 breeding season. The plan was simple: run two incubators to increase capacity and keep things moving efficiently. That did not end up happening. To be clear about expectations, an incubator’s job is consistency over the full cycle. It needs to hold a stable temperature, maintain humidity, turn eggs reliably, and most importantly, make it all the way through hatch day without failing. If it cannot do that, nothing else really makes up for it. While it was working, the Maticoopx actually performed fine. I didn’t have issues dialing in temperature or humidity. The external water bottle setup was convenient and made it easy to manage humidity without opening the incubator. The egg turner was another feature I liked. It keeps eggs upright, which I prefer, and it ran quietly. Overall, it was simple to use and seemed well thought out on the surface. It also looks like a solid unit, which is why I expected it to last longer. It worked through the first hatch and even continued working after I cleaned it. I use a gentle, consistent cleaning method across all my incubators, so there was nothing unusual in how it was maintained. The failure is where this unit lost me completely. It made it into the second hatch and was running fine at the start, but it failed on day 21, with eggs actively hatching. That is the worst possible timing. It could no longer maintain proper conditions, and I had to emergency move chicks into another incubator to finish the hatch. It did not even make it past hatch number two. At that point, it was clear I could not rely on it for the season it was purchased for. Instead of having a dependable second incubator, I had to go out and buy another Nurture Right 360° Egg Incubator to replace it. That alone says everything about the level of trust I had left in the Maticoopx. For comparison, my original Nurture Right 360° Egg Incubator has continued to run without issue and I am heading into my sixth hatch with it using the same care routine. It does exactly what an incubator should do, which is run consistently from day one through hatch without interruption. In short, the Maticoopx has some convenient features and is easy to operate when it is working, but it failed where it matters most. An incubator has one core job, and that is to get eggs safely through a full hatch. This one could not do that reliably. Because of that, I would not purchase it again, and I would not recommend it if you need something you can count on for an entire season.

Worked great for coturnix quail! The size was perfect for us; we were able to fit 38 quail eggs comfortably (had to use some cotton pads between a few eggs initially to ensure no eggs bonked together, but removed these at lockdown). I ordered a third party riser, handle, and gear cover from Quail Prints Co, and these drastically improved my experience. Watering system was easy to use, though I highly recommend you read the instructions first to avoid a spill. We removed the bars on lockdown day, and the chicks are hatching as I type. We had hatching success at 99.5°F and 74% humidity (we increased the humidity up from 48% at lockdown, but kept the chicks at 99.5°F the whole time). We placed a shelf liner down at lockdown. Incubator kept the temperature steady the whole time. Deducted one star since I had to use a lot of third party items to improve user experience. The candling function worked really well. Healthy looking chicks! Overall really happy with this product!
