  • Good auto litterbox
Color: white
We have a similar automatic litter box. This is similar to the one I already had, so adopting this new one was fairly easy since my two cats were already used to this type of litter box. We needed one that the bigger cat would fit in more easily, so this one is perfect. Very similar in design to my other unit, but one difference is that this unit has a very sensitive sensor, which I like a lot since we have a cat that is very curious and constantly messing with the litter box. So this one will stop as soon as she touches the unit, which assures that the machine has good safety measures. I also like it that when it's dumping the waste, it's not fully closed in the back as a safety precaution. The bigger cat fits in this one, so both cats have taken to it, but we still have the stainless steel one as a third emergency box. It came with great accessories like a deodorizer, cleaner, brush, litter mat, and waste bag liners. This is a more complete kit than our other automatic litter box. Overall, this unit works for larger cats and has good safety features. Both my cats have used it without issue. This makes life a lot easier for cat owners, since it automates the daily litter box cleaning chore out of the daily routine. ... show more

  • Decent concept, but requires more maintenance than expected
Color: white
I really wanted to love this automatic litter box, especially with the large open design which is great for my bigger cats. However, after using it for a few weeks, I’m finding it’s not as "hands-off" as advertised. While it does eliminate the daily scooping, the system itself requires a lot of patience. The sensors are very sensitive—which is good for safety—but the cleaning cycle often pauses or gets interrupted, leaving the waste sitting there longer than I’d like. Because it’s an open-top model, if the cleaning cycle hasn't finished, the smell isn't contained as well as I hoped. I’ve also found that I still have to deep clean the internal parts quite frequently because litter gets stuck in the crevices of the cleaning mechanism. For the price, I was hoping for a truly "set it and forget it" experience, but it ends up being a different kind of work. It’s okay for multi-cat households, but be prepared to still spend time maintaining the machine itself. ... show more

  • Initial Impressions from a Multi-Cat Household
Color: white
It's been about a week now and I do really like this! It does have the automatic stop but in reading the book, the auto stop does not work when you are emptying the litter! Something to be very mindful of especially if you have helpers like I do. The beep. I thought for sure there was a way to make is quieter and there is not. This is important because of the loud beep! You can leave the litterbox turned off overnight if you don't want to hear the loud BEEP! Other than that, pretty impressed with this box! I just received this a couple of days ago, so these are my initial impressions, but I have quite a bit of experience with litter boxes. I care for cats in multiple homes and currently have 16 rescue cats, so litter box setups are something I deal with every day. In our house we run six regular litter boxes, two Litter-Robots, and now this one, so I’ve seen a lot of different designs. Let’s be honest for a moment. We “kittenap” these adorable little predators from the outdoors and ask them to politely do their business in a plastic box somewhere in our house. Some people even keep those boxes next to the washer and dryer or feed their cats nearby. Cats depend on us to keep their spaces clean, and not everyone keeps up with scooping daily. That’s why automatic litter boxes have become so popular. Over the years I’ve had six or seven Litter-Robots, all of which were actually gifted to me by people whose cats refused to use them or they didn't want to clean or maintain them. They are very large and take up a lot of space in a home. The cabinets people buy to hide them can feel like adding another appliance to the room. This is why I was interested in this model. One thing I immediately appreciated is the open-top design. Many cats dislike enclosed spaces, and the open format makes it feel much more like a traditional litter box. The shape is also rectangular instead of a large globe, which makes it easier to place in normal areas of the house. Another big advantage is the footprint. This unit takes up roughly the same amount of space as a regular litter box, which is very helpful in a multi-cat home. When you have several cats, you really should have litter boxes placed in different areas so everyone has access and feels comfortable. That’s much harder to do with the very large automatic boxes that dominate a room. This one fits into spaces where a normal litter box would go, which I really appreciate. The price point is also much more reasonable than many other automatic litter boxes on the market, which makes trying one feel less risky. When introducing my cats to new things, I usually show them that it’s safe first. They trust me (but now they don't move for the vacuum, the little stinkers)! The first kitty that tried this one was a little unsure when it wobbled slightly, but curiosity quickly won and several of them have already checked it out. It is being used for sure! I have mostly seen my smaller cats using it so far, and I haven’t seen my larger boys climb in yet, so I will be watching to see how well it works for bigger cats. One thing I noticed right away is that the safety sensor seems very sensitive, which I appreciate. The unit stops immediately if it senses a whisker! In a multi-cat household that kind of responsiveness is reassuring. Assembly was extremely simple. There is basically only one way to put it together, so setup is quick and straightforward. A few early observations: • The open top design is great for cats that dislike enclosed boxes • The step doubles as the waste drawer handle, which is clever, though I do wonder how it will hold up over time with larger cats using it. If that breaks your handle to pull out the drawer is broken then, as well. • The fabric-style liner on the bottom is something new to me and I’m curious how it performs long-term • The unit beeps and cycles fairly often, so I plan to explore the settings more. Its a rather loud hard to miss BEEP! The most important test is always the cats themselves, and mine are already using it, which is a great sign. In a house with this many cats, I’m also a big believer in the rule many vets and behaviorists recommend: one litter box per cat plus one extra whenever possible. Anything that makes litter box maintenance easier while still fitting naturally into your home is a helpful tool, but automatic boxes still don’t replace paying attention and keeping litter areas clean. And please don't feed your cats next to their toilet! I’ll continue testing this with both my smaller and larger cats and will update this review as we spend more time with it. ... show more

  • Cat Needed a Little Time to Adjust, But Now It’s a Huge Upgrade
Color: white
Many cats just need a little time to adjust to a new litter box, especially an automatic one. I decided to give it a proper transition period, and I’m really glad I did. The open design actually helped a lot with the transition. My cat has never liked enclosed litter boxes, so the wide open entrance made it feel more natural for him. There’s plenty of space inside too, which is great for larger cats. I also appreciate the safety sensors. If the cat jumps in or gets close during the cleaning cycle, the machine immediately stops. That gave me peace of mind when switching it to automatic mode. The motor is pretty quiet as well, which helps keep skittish cats from getting scared. Maintenance has been simple so far. I’m using clumping litter as recommended and just wipe the sensor area occasionally to keep it working smoothly. The sealed waste drawer does a good job controlling odor, and emptying it is much easier than scooping daily. Overall, if your cat doesn’t use it immediately, don’t give up too quickly. Let them get used to it first and introduce the automatic function gradually. Once my cat adjusted, this litter box really did become a huge time-saver and keeps the litter area much cleaner. ... show more
