My very basic rowing machine has a hard plastic seat. This foam cushion beats the heck out of the towel I was using for padding. I washed but didn't dry the cover and it fit back on the foam just fine. The sticky stuff on the bottom of the cover holds the cushion in place. Best Christmas present I got myself. ... show more

Makes doing my rowing workout so much more comfortable. There is less of a strain on the sciatic nerve in the cushion just absorbs any type of impact.

I gave 1 per isn’t memory foam. It is a really hard foam. Not comfortable material. Similar to the hard seat. You may be better using a sofa pillow instead. Size is good. Rubber at the bottom would help to keep in place. Can’t return it per Amazon had a flag so no choice I have to keep it. I do not recommend Next day my glutes are hurting. So is a no no.     • Highly padded seat, but also insulating.
This is a very cushy rowing machine seat pad. If you struggle to stick with your rowing machine because of the hardness of the seat, this will definitely make it more padded. It fits my Concept 2 RowErg seat well, and doesn't move around at all. Personally, I am choosing not to use this cushion and sticking with the much thinner cushion I already have. I definitely recommend everyone get a seat cushion for their Concept 2, because the bare seat is pretty hard and uncomfortable, but for me this seat has two main problems, but they come down to personal preference more than flaws with the product. The main thing I don't like about this cushion is that it is hot. The memory foam has a serious insulating effect, and combined with how you sink into it and it conforms around your posterior, I find that I quickly get uncomfortably warm in that area, well before I've broken a sweat. I really dislike this, but it may not bother some people. The other reason is just that I feel like it actually adds too much cushion to the seat, which I feel disrupts the transfer of power and motion in my stroke. When I push with my legs I feel like I am pushing into the cushion, rather than directly to the seat, if that makes sense. It's like sitting on a spring, and I have to use energy to push the spring down before the seat starts moving, rather than that energy directly pushing the seat back and being transferred fully. So I am losing power in the drive, and having to work harder to get the same efficiency in my stroke that I have without it. If you're struggling to keep up your rowing routine, and a big part of that is that the seat is uncomfortable, than this will definitely help with that, and anything that just gets you moving and helps you establish a routine is a good thing. But I personally prefer to compromise some of the cushioning for a seat pad that doesn't overheat my cheeks and lets me get a direct connection and power transfer through my stroke. ... show more

I returned it after using it a few times. It offered little cushion comfort for my admittedly bony rear. It also tilted my positioning in such a way that my hips were painful after rowing. The quality seemed good. It fit the seat and didn’t slip on the rower seat, but for me, added no more comfort than a folded towel. ... show more
