My cat took to using this litter box pretty quickly, and I think the way it's open and quite large helps with that (he's on the larger side). It also runs its cleaning cycle pretty quietly, and the clumps go straight into the drawer, which actually seals way better than I thought and definitely helps with the odor. Cleaning is straightforward and the plastic is smooth so stuff doesn’t cling to it.

No kitty litter box is perfect, but this is 100 times better than the traditional kitty litter box. You still need to check the box for your cats to use it properly. My one cat tried to avoid 2 small poos and managed to pee behind the box. You also need to check the waste bin to make sure it’s evened out so it has room to move the waste into the bin. I use a tooth brush to clean off areas that cling to the rake or prongs. Use the recommended clumping kitty litter that comes with it is best. I tried a different one and it isn’t as good. I like the app that goes with it to keep track of which cat uses it. This is best for larger cats. Sensor works well and it weighs the cats each time and shows their usage. I would get another one but all 3 cats use it so it’s fine. You just need to empty the waste bin more often. I definitely recommend to upgrade from the old cat box using crystals to this clumping automatic raking kitty litter box.

The size of this litter box is a huge win. My cats are on the larger side, and they usually avoid anything that feels cramped, but they took to this box right away. The interior space is generous, and the wide entrance makes it easy for them to step in and out. The best part, though, is the automatic self-cleaning cycle. It quietly rakes through the litter after each use and deposits the clumps into a sealed compartment. I love being able to look inside and always see a clean, fresh bed of litter without lifting a finger. I also like that the waste drawer seals tightly, and combined with the carbon filter, it keeps smells contained really well. Even with two cats, I’ve noticed a dramatic decrease in litter box odor around the house. The days of coming home and immediately knowing “the cats were busy” are over.

I struggle with mobility issues that make scooping the little really tough, but I absolutely adore having a cats -plus, I love fostering them too, over the years I’ve actually tried many auto litter boxes and standard litter boxes. My cats transitioned to it really easily, I think it’s because its depth and shape are just like a standard litter box.One of my cats has always hated using automatic litter boxes, but it actually uses this one such a miracle! Another point I’d like to mention is that this little box seems easier to clean and maintain than some of the more complex robotic options, I haven’t cleaned it yet, but the little container is removable-just like a standard litter box- and that’s definitely crucial for me-some complex litter boxes take me half a day to clean. I love clear lid on the waste bin most, it’s a huge relief-this has massively reduced the number of times I open the waste collection bin and get hit with the unpleasant odor. I’ll be purchasing a second one very soon, so far I ‘m very pleased

Finally, a self-cleaning litter box that’s easy to maintain! I’ve owned 3 different self-cleaning litter boxes over the years, and all of them had one major flaw: impossible disassembly and stubborn clump residue that took forever to scrub off. The Robotail open-top model has changed my mind about automated litter boxes entirely! The metal rake and litter tray disassemble in seconds, and the Teflon coating on the tray means no poop sticking—just a quick rinse and wipe, and it’s good as new. The included warranty and responsive support team are a huge plus too—when I had a setup question, they got back to me within hours. It worked well at first until my cat started using it more often. He's 14 lb and it was fine for when he pooped in it but because his urine output is so big the rake gets stuck and so it stops working. I can't rely on it when I go away for a couple of days because it's probably not going to clean up everything. At this point the rake is just stuck and it's not working at all.
