An amazing thing to have
This is the best purchase for our home. It saves a lot of time. Vacuums and mops floor perfectly , not missing a spot. It avoids obstacles as written in description, but can suck in a charger cable, so it’s better to pick it from the floor. It automatically detects carpet and lifts mop so it does not get wet. I like the function that you can choose either whole house cleaning or selected room or just a zone. I had one issue though, after just 3 days of using it gave me an error that laser is blocked even it was completely clean and free and was turning as it suppose to. So I called technical support. They asked few questions and after requested a video that shows that it turns but anyways gives an error. Support team within a day sent me a return label, so I sent a roborock and in 4 or 5 days they delivered me the new one. Of course I was so upset in the very beginning because this thing is expensive, but after such a nice support team work and that I got the new one that works absolutely perfectly, I am so happy. Already 2 of my friends ordered same house helper, so I will not say that I will recommend roborock to my friend, because I already did. So, I am completely amazed. This purchase did not disappoint.

Self sufficient and actually useful
I've been using this vacuum on an automatic schedule that runs every morning for a month now, since I have a lot of pets to keep up with. My previous robot vacuum was an entry level Roomba, so quite the price difference, but I decided to go top of the line because the Roomba would take inefficient paths, do a half-assed job, get stuck regularly, and require manual cleaning every 2-3 cycles, making it more time and effort than just vacuuming myself. This vacuum looks similar but is the polar opposite. It mapped out my house and has an efficient path that takes a consistent amount of time, has only gotten stuck once, and hasn't required anything from my end beyond changing the water tanks every 2 days. The vacuuming isn't quite as thorough as if I did it with a standing vacuum, but the mopping and ability to run it daily actually leaves my floors cleaner than biweekly manual vacuuming from those 45 seconds of filling and pouring out water tanks. On cons, there's truly not much to say. The biggest issue I had was that it would give a "clean filter" error when I first got it, that turned out to be caused by the mop pad needing to be reseated. Hopefully they can update the error code to include that as a troubleshooting step in the app through a software update since I had to find that on a forum. Seems like the pad shifted out of position during shipping. Ultimately, whether this is worth it for you is going to come down to how hard the $1k price tag hits you. It's absolutely a time saver, and is fantastic if you want daily cleaning to keep up with pets, kids, or messy adults. Perhaps even for some it may even save you money if it allows you to reduce the frequency of a maid service. But if you're going for a robotic vacuum, I'd recommend avoiding the cheap models and going for something like this since the cheaper ones are a waste of money while these premium models actually save you time and energy.

Why is the upgrade so much worse than the s7?
The s7 was the best vacuum I ever had, my floors were consistently spotless. It died after 18 months of intense use- it would have been nice for it to have lasted longer but it was worth the investment even for that short time as I truly ran that thing into the ground. I chose to “upgrade” and it was a massive mistake. The self washing feature of the dock is gross to me, it “washes” the pad with a dirty brush, holds the filth water to ferment in a smelly tub; it’s difficult to change the pad as you have to turn over the entire unit, and you can’t even remove the water tank to be able to see if anything is growing in it or fill it yourself without it having to run through the disgusting dock. It just adds another handful of areas for bacteria and mildew to grow. It didn’t even matter though because my unit completely stopped working after the first couple of uses. $1k on a useless brick, and to add insult to injury the company made me carry the 40lb box to ups instead of arranging a pickup for the dud that THEY sent me. I ended up giving it another chance and purchasing an s8 without the dock and I’m honestly just really upset that I can’t find the s7 anywhere, because despite the exponentially better specs, the s8 is an unremarkable machine in comparison. My s7 never left behind a single piece of cat hair or litter after a single pass and the s8 can be run repeatedly on the highest speed and still leave little pieces of litter stuck to my feet. Safe to say I hate the s8 and get cranky every time i see everything it leaves behind. I was extremely brand loyal and borderline obsessed with my s7 but unfortunately since it’s no longer available I’ll be shopping other brands :( I would do anything for another s7, but this ain’t it.

One of our best purchases
This unit is phenomenal. It mops and vacuums well. It is awesome how the mop raises itself when it gets to a carpeted area as to not wet the carpets unnecessarily. The vacuum dust bin empties itself and the mop cleans itself. There is minor routing maintenance required, but the app will let you know. It seems to be easy to get affordable replaceable wear parts. It is sturdy and well made and quite easy to repair and maintain. My only caveat is to make sure you inspect your cleaning areas prior to running if you have pets. It can make a "poop-si-daisy" turn into a major cleaning project if you aren't careful.

Good vacuum with a couple quirks
I own several robot vacuums, and this one is one of the better performers for vacuuming—it cleans thoroughly and handles our floors well. The mopping works great on tile, but on wood floors it leaves a noticeable film, even when using the manufacturer’s cleaner. It’s also easy to use overall, but the mapping isn’t as accurate as my other units. With our glass sliders, it sometimes ‘sees’ through them and creates rooms that aren’t actually there. Overall, a strong vacuum with very good mopping on tile, but a few quirks with mapping and wood floors.

Pros and Cons Below
I bought no less than 6 robot vacuums to test this out. This is the one I ultimately decided to keep. I tested vacuums across all the price ranges and with all types of functions. I watched all of the vacuum wars videos and read the reviews intently. In the end, the Roborock S7 was the vacuum I selected. Pros: -Can use with just water (no requirement to pay for overpriced cleaning chemicals) -Mop feature is great and lift features works on all of my carpets -Navigation and mapping is the best I've tested -Varying suction powers and mopping intensities have allowed me to get the results I want -Roborock's app is the best I've used. I loved being able to put down where my furniture is and area rugs -Auto-emptying feature is something that can be turned off -Reliable and consistent, very rarely gets jammed or stuck -Easy to clean and maintain Cons: -Does not recognize my puzzle piece foam floor mats as mats. It treats them like carpet. Which is annoying because I would really like for them to get mopped daily -Despite having strong suction, it is not great on low pile rug with dog hair, I still have to go over our car track-themed low pile rug with a comb to pull the dog hair out of it 2x a week. The roborock seems to rub it further into the rug rather than suck it out. -I have it set not to bump into things but it doesn't get corners and certain areas as well as I'd like, I could probably reduce it's collision settings to get a better job but I find that vacuuming those corners and areas 2x a week when I already have to vacuum the stairs is okay for me. This is an area that much cheaper vacuums outperformed the Roborock in. Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase. I can legitimately say that having a robot vacuum has changed my life for the better. My house is so much cleaner, not only because its vacuumed and mopped daily but dust is way down. I can set the vacuum to go and do a quick clean before company comes over while I handle setting up appetizers or quickly wiping down the bathroom and surfaces etc. It really feels like we have a professional cleaning service coming in every day. I love it so so much. Any robot vacuum would make this incredible of a difference, but the Roborock was what we chose because of the mopping features and the reliability and ease of maintenance.

My Favorite Thing, EVER
As a working mom, it WAS so hard for me to feel like I was doing a good job keeping house. July 2023 I splurged and treated myself to this and it is the best thing I have ever purchased. Mapping was easy, but taking the time to set boundaries and and floor types really helps. The upkeep to the dock and vacuum has been minimal. The app keeps adding new features, like a customization setting sso now each room's preferences are set without me having to choose modes each time. I love the no-go zones to keep it away from our charging cord station that always has dangling cords. The mop does a good job, but I do add solution. I didn't like the just water results. Our house is carpet and tile and this does a phenomenal job. The only thing that has tripped it up is the occasional nerf dart. We do not have pets, so I can't speak to how well it picks up after pets. If this broke today, I would buy a Roborock replacement immediately. It is definitely mommy's little helper!

Not the best, but good.
I purchased this in December, and have ran it almost everyday since then. Love that it can help me out keeping my floors looking clean. We have 2 kids, and 2 big St. Bernard's in our house, and live in the beautiful PNW, where it rains 9 months out of the year. So the wet muddy footprints and the hair is a battle not for the faint of heart. I'm mopping several times daily, mop and bucket right at the back door ready to use 10 times or more a day. Dirty chaos. So I purchased this, trying to help me out with the rest of the house in between mopping. Pros- it's a hard working vacuum and mop. I love how you can customize everything, direction you want to run it on the floor, to go with the flooring direction or against. It's very thorough cleaning and going around objects not bumping into them. You can program it for the different levels in your house and it will recognize it. Has a ton of programmable features to customize your cleaning choices. Cons- it does not pick up pet hair very well. It leaves them in clumps all over the house, or just jams the brushes several times during a clean. Even after I vacuum and the floors are clean, I run can run it later and the little amount it seems to struggle with. It also seems to struggle getting the hair and dirt in its bin, and emptying the bin completely. I have to check it and mostly manually empty to make sure it's completely cleaned out. Also if there is dog food it just carries it around and clicking the whole time until I remove it. If you have textured rugs, it doesn't pick up much, and if it runs over them with dog hair it leaves the clumps on them. So I just make sure it skips over them and vacuum those separately. My house is mostly hard wood so I bought this just to maintain in between cleaning. But it does take babysitting. Overall, if you don't have pets, or short haired ones, this would work perfectly. My hopes were high, but I don't think anything could keep up with long haired giant breed dogs. But still overall love the machine.
