  • Great for coins
Color: Silver
This was just what I was looking for. Great price. Excellent magnification. Lights work very well and it’s very well made. I like the metallic base it’s very sturdy and I use it for coins so it’s very comfortable. Setup was a breeze. The larger screen is helpful … worth the extra money to step up from the 4.3” imo. So far very happy ... show more

  • Get it now if you're thinking about it!
Color: Silver
Wow! It works, it's simple, and it's effective. The picture quality is clear, crisp, and makes small parts look HUUUUGE! Manual is concise and understandable. Solid base and balance overall.

  • Perfect, except the gooseneck lights.
Color: Silver
We have a 7 year old name brand scope at work for inspecting composite materials defects. We paid over $200 for it, and it has the same sensor resolution.l, but no screen. The build quality isn’t as good as the work model, but it doesn’t need to be. Primary build material seems to be a zinc alloy, which is good enough. 2mp doesn’t sound like much these days, but for inspecting solder joints, composites, surface prep, etc, it’s far better than you’d expect. Overall it’s very well designed to cut all the right corners without sacrificing what matters, functionality. My only complaint is the gooseneck lights. They’re so floppy that they won’t stay in place. I’m hoping to find a way to mod them. I’ll probably design and 3d print some sleeves and link the design here. Overall, i am very happy with my choice. It’s a great valet for the money. ... show more

  • Works very well for electronic work.
Color: Silver
I ordered this on a whim, but it has become an indispensable tool for examining homemade circuit boards for cracks and shorts. And looking at the value of tiny parts and being a huge hands free magnifying glass for micro work. And lots more. My iPhone on a stand once did the same thing, but this device relieves me of the worry of disaster of an expensive phone around an active workbench. Note, however, it is for small objects. You can't stick a motherboard under it to examine things, unless you unmount the head and make your own holder. ... show more

  • The tool I didn't know I needed!!!
Color: Silver
I’ve been using this 7-inch digital microscope primarily to identify real LEGO from fakes, and it’s become an essential part of my setup. The screen is sharp and bright, making it easy to spot the fine details that separate authentic pieces from counterfeit ones—like the tiny “LEGO” stamp, mold codes, and surface texture. Magnification is strong enough to clearly see imperfections or irregularities in the plastic, which is especially helpful when sorting bulk lots or verifying rare parts. The built-in lighting does a great job highlighting even the smallest differences without causing glare. Beyond LEGO, this microscope has also proven incredibly useful for soldering small electronic connections. It provides a clear view of fine pins, pads, and joints, making precision work much easier and reducing eye strain. The adjustable stand keeps things steady, and the ability to capture photos or connect via USB adds to its versatility. For the price, it’s a solid tool that’s found a permanent spot on my workbench. ... show more

  • Great quality for the right price
Color: Silver
I am pleasantly surprised. The product is not all metal, but the price would not match this assumption. However, the base and LCD+Microscope is solidly built. The connection to the computer as a "camera" is simple. The setup was intuitive (in retrospect, the guide would have been too). I'm able to see up-close my electronics without edge blur. This is not the top-notch product in the category, you will need to manually turn knobs to focus and change depth, but that is small when compared to the true value being a microscope. The base does not have holes or clips for samples/boards, but it's small enough the base can next to another pair of helping hands or clips. ... show more

  • Good magnification but needs a lot of (not included) customization, screen is dim.
Color: Silver
First pros. It does have good magnification. After customization parts, I can see the little hairs on the petals of my miniature orchid flowers. It’s nice that the spotlights on the base run off the battery of the screen so you don’t have to use two separate cables. The remote is nice because you can set up a photo/video and then use the remote to activate the shutter rather than vibrating the camera by having to press a button on the screen. It comes with a glare adapter you can install to help when you’re working with something that needs that. Now cons. First, the biggest problem is that the screen itself has no brightness control AND is very dim. Yes, you can turn up the lights on the lens to brighten up the subject you’re viewing, but that only solves some of the problem. Turn the light up too high and you wash out what you’re looking at while still NOT seeing it well on the dim screen. So, if you’re using it anywhere with regular household ambient light, the screen is very hard to see. It’s so dim, you really have to use it in an area with very little natural light and/or with your ambient lights turned down or off. Super inconvenient. Second, it comes with a USB charging cable and yet the manual says, over and over again, to use a full-function DC charger, which (no shocker here) you have to buy separately. If it's that important, it should have been included with the original kit. Third, if you are going to work with anything that’s more than about 2 inches thick, you’re going to need to buy the (not included) extension rod to get the lens farther away from the base in order to bring the thicker viewed object into focus. I wanted to use it to look at my tiny orchid flowers which are mounted on slabs of bark. When laid flat, the whole plant (with slab) is maybe 3 inches thick. I could not get the lens far enough away to see the flowers. Once I’d bought the extension rod, it was ok but not great. With the added rod, the whole apparatus becomes extremely top heavy. You have to incredibly careful not to bump it or your table lest the whole thing fall over and shatter. Fourth, it takes a micro-SD card. Unless your computer comes with a port for that, you’re going to need an adapter (which is not included but at least with that I can understand why). In the end, it fulfills its core objective; it has great magnification. However, the screen is dim, the DC charger should’ve been included, you’ll need an extension rod if you’re going to do anything remotely three-dimensional, you practically have to use it in the dark and you’ll have to visit the office supply store if you want to get anything off the micro-SD. In the end, once I’d bought all the added stuff, it wasn’t a half bad video microscope. Not remotely professional grade, but decent for a hobbyist. However, what that means is, out of the box, it’s really disappointing. If you buy it, just be prepared for a lot of customization if you’re going to be doing anything other than numismatic/philatelic activities or very flat electronics manipulation/soldering. ... show more
