Excellent Cleaner! Well worth it.

We've only had this robot for a couple of months, but it has already proven it's cost. This is how we use it in our home of approximatley 1900sqft tiled home. Twice a week we have it vacuum 4 bedrooms, a common area between 3 bedrooms and 2 bathroom floors. 3 times a week, it vacuums the larger common areas including the kitchen, livingroom with aread rug and open dining area. It does a great job vacuuming and takes care of these areas on the designated days without needing to recharge the battery to complete the job. We went from a simple Roomba to this, so you can notice the difference in suction even at the balanced setting. Then every other week we use it to deep clean. This involves a deep vacuuming and deep mopping. This is much more intense and we do it in phases/areas of the home. The large common areas are first. It takes about an hour for the vacuuming to get completed. We do have to let it recharge for about 30 minutes before the deep mopping. But this is the only time that it needs to charge between vacuuming and mopping for us. And the reason for charging is because it gets 99% done, but has 15% battery left, so it goes back to charge. This is my only negative comment. As it should realize it's 99% done and finish the job with the low battery. However, it does do a great job mopping. It can extend the mopping arms to make sure it gets every corner. The amount of dirt and grime it picks up with the use of so little water is surprising. Even with the uneven tile floor we have. It can all be done in a day with a charging in between. We haven't used the lighter mopping options yet as we don't generally find a need to mop more often. The robot itself is easy to clean. I did not find the parts diffcult to remove and put back. I also like the fact that it doesn't go around ramming into everything like the Roomba did and the initial mapping of the entire house was incredibly fast. This thing is such an upgrade! My floors have never been cleaner.
I had a very (very-very) basic robot vacuum that I was happy enough with, so I was sad when it finally went kaput. I definitely wanted to replace it. After much research and deliberation--and feeling completely overwhelmed at the vast number of choices--I finally settled on the Roborock Qrevo S5V and I am so happy with my choice. I am so impressed with how well it functions and all the things it does to make my life easier and my house cleaner! It is controlled mainly with the Roborock app, and if there is something you want done, the app will pretty much let you tell the robot to do it. You can vacuum only, mop only, vacuum the whole house then mop the whole house, or set it to sort of vacuum and mop at the same time (though not actually at the very same time). You can tell it what time to start working on what day, and make your schedule as complicated or as simplified as you like. One huge feature for me is that while my old robot just kind of wandered around randomly, the Qrevo S5V methodically covers every square inch. I can look at the app and see exactly where it has cleaned and where it has not. this feature is excellent and such a huge upgrade. As far as how well it cleans, I am so impressed with the vacuuming, especially. I have long hair, two dogs and lots of nature outside, so my own hair, dog hair, leaves, grass clippings and dust seem to build up on my floors very quickly. The S5V's brushes and suctioning do a thorough job of picking it all up, but I do find I need to manually clean corners and some other oddly shaped spaces the robot can't get to. I really love the split roller brushes ("DuoDivide" brushes) because they prevent dog hair (and my own long hair) from tangling and gumming up the brushes. I am not quite sure how it works, but it is a marvel of engineering that after vacuuming, the two roller brushes are nearly hair free and tangles are not an issue. It is because of the split design. If you have pets or long hair of your own, whether you get the S5V or some other Roborock model, I recommend making sure it has the DuoDivide brush feature. As for mopping, this feature is really helping me out because my home has lots of square feet of polished concrete, and mopping the whole thing is quite the dreaded chore. The robot's mopping job is not as thorough as a manual one done by a human, but between the vacuum's regularly scheduled dust/hair removal followed by the basic mopping job, this robot is keeping my floors cleaner and looking so much better than they have in years. Mopping the floors in this house is such a chore that I would have to psyche myself up for the job, but now that this robot takes care of so much of it for me, the floors look nice day-in/day-out, and when I want to give them a thorough mopping myself, it's so much quicker and easier because the floors are soooo much cleaner to start with. Even if I have skipped my own mopping job, I am not embarrassed if friends or neighbors drop by unannounced because my floors look nice at all times thanks to this robot. I do get tripped up on the app sometimes when programming jobs, but there is a wonderful Roborock community on Reddit and all I have to do it post a question there and someone helpful will answer it. Overall, I am extrememly pleased with the Qrevo S5V. My floors have never looked better and with so little effort. It has inspired me to keep my entire house cleaner and also given me more time to attend to other areas of my home. ... show more

Definite upgrade from Roomba S9

I've been using iRobot products for years. The one I retired for this Roborock S5V is the Roomba S9. The S9 is supposed to be one of the flagship products in the lineup. It does a great job...but WOW...is it LOUD! My wife HATES it when it starts up! This Roborock is so so quiet. So far, it hasn't built up any accumulation of my wife's long hair in the rollers. It does a beautiful job mopping...even though my carpet is like a mini shag...so the mops DO touch the surface of the carpet when going from room to room..but we mop so much that the floors never really get all that dirty! You should be fine with shorter style carpets. The Roborock does an amazing job mapping the home. It took 2 runs and the map looked just like my floorpan. MUCH better than the Roomba mapping system. One of the things that I really like about the Roborock is that it doesnt knock things over or bump into things. The Roomba has left some marks on furniture and decorative items that are on the floor. Roborock comes close to the obstacle, but doesnt bowl it over. THAT is a huge plus in my eyes. My wife is from Peru, and she has some hand carved items such as a Llama, Alpaca and another animal that I can't remember the name of. The Roomba would mow them down every time it cleaned, breaking the necks of these figurines. I spent HOURS gluing their heads back on under the dissatisfied glare of my lovely bride. I really like this robotic vacuum. It's my new toy! I could spend hours just staring at it work. It definitely has it's you know what together! ... show more

This is my review of the Qrevo S5V model: (***10 month Update at end***) I needed a vac that would pick up hair without it wrapping around the roller (and other parts). I mean *real* FUR from two very, very floofy Golden Retrievers that I can no longer bring to the groomer. One has long, silky hair on top of a typical Golden undercoat, and the other has literal wool as an undercoat. I'm talking Golden meets Husky meets GSD. Literally. The shedding is extraordinary by any standard. Check my photos to see what the vac has collected. When I say they shed, I'm not talking about some scattered strands or a couple of little hair wads here and there. I mean they shed by the bucket full. To top that off there are always large wads (meaning the size of a softball, or larger) of tumbleweeds that hide under furniture. They will randomly appear in the middle of the floor, just waiting for a robo vac to come along and make it beg for mercy. My routine (with my previous different brand of robot) has been to get up in the middle of the night to find it sitting still, red light flashing, and saying 'my brush roll is stuck'. Not so with this Roborock (so far). My previous robot vacs of a different, popular brand did a decent job, considering, but I was having to dismantle them every couple of days to remove the hair wrap from the no-hair-wrap roller. So, when my last one died I researched for days, asked AI, etc., and this Roborock S5v seemed like the one to try - but the price almost made me pass it up. It had good reviews for no hair wrap, but most people don't specify what kind/amount of hair they're talking about. A vac that's really good with pug or chihuahua hair doesn't really impress me. Plus, I wasn't sure about the vac & mop feature. It seemed like the mopping feature was just something else that could break or not actually work. But, I decided to go for it anyway. I got the extended warranty, so I figured it was a safe enough gamble. I set it up, let it charge overnight, and sent it on it's mapping mission. No problems with that, and it was fast. Then I had it just vacuum, then I sent it out to vac & mop. No problems. Quiet. Fast. It recharged quickly. I sent it out the next night to vac & mop. When it was done I decided to pick it up, turn it over and see just how much hair had collected on the roller, fearing the worst. I was defeated. There was nothing there - no hair, no dirt or dust. Nothing. Nothing in the front or side wheels. Nothing in the dustbin! I sat there trying to figure out how to return this thing, because it obviously wasn't picking up anything. Then I decided to pull the dust bag out of the home base, just to be sure. It had significant hair and dirt in it! How?! Not a hair on the rollers (well, maybe two). I pulled the rollers out, nothing there. I was shocked, to say the least. Over the past two weeks I've checked it regularly, and still zero hair on the rollers and maybe 6 hairs remaining in the dust bin, if that. In my photos you can see the ridiculous amount of hair this thing has collected, and none of it staying on the rollers or wheels, not even the little front wheel. Now, let me say that I have ceramic tile throughout and only one rug by the back door (which collects a ridiculous amount of hair), so I can't say how this robot will do on carpet. It does an awesome job on that rug, and yes, it lifts it's mop pads up when it contacts the rug; it also ramps up it's suction on the rug, which is the only time you could say it's loud. And, there's no hair collecting on the mop pads. I have no idea how that can be, but there's none. They stay clean. So, here's a few of the 'pros' I have found to date: Setting this Roborock up was SO simple, even for this 60+ senior gal. The app is seriously easy and awesome, and works equally well on my iPad and Android phone. The vac connected to my WiFi with zero hassle (and has stayed connected with no issues to date). It mapped my house almost perfectly on it's first 'mapping mission'. You can 'watch' the vac on the app in real time as it navigates through your house and see what task it is doing, where it's been, when it's emptying the dustbin, and when it is washing the mop pads. Scheduling is simple to set up, and you can schedule any variety of days & times, and you can schedule it to just vacuum, just mop, vac and then mop, or vac & mop simultaneously - and set any of those modes for different times or days of the week. I have mine set to vacuum M-W-F, and to vac + mop on Sun & Thurs. On Saturday I set it to vacuum and then mop afterwards. Easy. This thing is seriously quiet when vacuuming or mopping. The only real noise is when it is emptying the dustbin or washing the mop pads, and even then it's not what I would call loud. It does get louder when it hits my rug. When it empties the dustbin, there's no 'stink'. I guess it's all contained in the bag. The rollers and dustbin are easy to access, remove and put back into place, as is the dust bag in the home base. The dust bag holds a lot. I can't say how much it holds, other than it's 'a lot'. That said, with the amount of hair I have, a bag might last me a month (although I've pulled the wads of hair out and reused the bag, so there's that). The water tanks are simple to fill/empty and set back into place. No skill needed for that. The mop feature definitely works, because there's dirty water in the tank after each mopping. It also does extend one of the mop pads anytime it encounters a chair leg or baseboard, so it really does cover pretty much every inch of the floor that it can access. The robot itself is a lower profile than my previous robots. It can scoot under the toe kick area of my dishwasher, where my previous robots could not. Now for the 'cons': I can't find any. I just can't. It has performed flawlessly, although time will tell how well it continues to work as it should with this hair issue. Not a negative, but just to mention that it takes up a bit more floor space than my previous robots (I think it's 19" deep?), so allow for that (see photo). My only complaint - to date - is that you have to use the Roborock brand of floor cleaning solution, which I don't want to do. One of my dogs has a habit of licking the floor (ugh!), and I'm not comfortable putting that solution down for her to lick. I'm just using plain water for now. I can pass a mop with my cleaning solution of choice every so often, and that will work for me. I've seen other reviewers say they put Listerine or similar in the dirty water tank so that it doesn't stink, but it literally takes 2 minutes to empty it and give it a quick rinse, so I don't see that as an issue... unless you let that water sit for days on end - or maybe it's mopped up something foul smelling - I don't know, but it's a non issue for me. I have a large house, and I'll hopefully be getting another Roborock (this model) soon. This one will be 'assigned' to the living area of the house, and my next one will be for the bedroom areas. I wanted to give this one more time to see how it holds up, but it's really tempting to get another, especially because they're on sale at the moment. Anyway, that's my initial review of this particular Roborock model, and I'll definitely update if needed. **10 month UPDATE 6/2026: I remain impressed with this bot vacuum. Still zero hair wrap over the past 10 months. None. That’s just unbelievable. I did buy a second one, same model, not long after my initial review and it performs just as well as the first one. One runs in the living area at night and the other runs in the bedroom areas during the day, so each bot covers about 1,000 sq. ft of vac and mop areas. Scheduling and setting no-go zones is easy. I have had no issues with either bot, or the app, or with either bot staying connected to WiFi. The mop function still works well. I have found one of them stuck where it couldn’t free itself just two times. If either died tomorrow I would absolutely buy another one to replace it. ... show more

I have had several Roomba vacuums over the years but branched out last year and got a mop/vac from Roborock. It has been great. It vacuums well and the dragging mop pad certainly helps keep the floors cleaner, but it is not a true mop. So this Prime Day I bought another Roborock, this one, wanting the swirling mop pads. I am not disappointed at all. I let this new one take over the job of the first, and moved that one to take over for the Roomba I still have. The Roborock vacs learn fast and the mapping is great. They seem to be stronger than the Roomba and the floor feels much better after they cycle, even just on a vac run. They simply do a better job. The Roomba I have is only a few years old and one of the higher models with the collection tower, so not some cheaper model that I would expect to easily be beat. The mapping and running is much better than the Roomba. They are so much more gentle and do not run into anything like the Roomba likes to do. I will continue to buy Roborock in the future. I have not had one issues with them, compared to the Roomba that would sometimes have connection problems and a nonexistent clog that would keep it from doing a run. I keep them clean and maintained but only the Roomba ever needs extra special attention. I have dogs so each system runs at least a vacuum run each day during the week. I recently found out you can add cleaning solution to the mop water and I'm excited to add that and see how that works. The two apps are both nice and the Roborock I would say is more complicated but it has more features and abilities. Setting it up and running is not difficulty overall, just not as easy as the lower feature Roomba app. One thing the Roborock app let's you do over the Roomba is drive the unit yourself. It also has a point and go option to hit a particular spot instead of doing a complete run. I don't use it much but the feature is nice to have. Another thing I found with the Roborock app is you can add pet bowls, beds, and cages on the map and have the unit clean in those areas more than the rest of the room. I absolutely love this machine. It allows you to set scheduled cleanings as many as you want. You can set it for washing or vacuuming or both at the same time. It is able to tell the type of floor you have and switch from vacuuming to mopping in an instant. You tells you the water is running low and needs to be refilled which also means the other canister needs to be emptied. It can for the most part get out when tangled with wires but recommend moving out if the way. You can program it in a multiple of languages and it will map your house and tell you where it is all in the app. It has made my house feel so much cleaner. This was an absolute great buy. It also picks up most items (even my sock) so watch for small items you don’t want to lose. ... show more

Good performance, difficult to clean

Great vac/mop, as covered by other reviews. I'm very happy with it. I'll note just the 'misses' that I find frustrating, all of which are pet-specific. The app has plenty of features, but is more difficult to use than it could be. It should be organized around clarity and ease of understanding. Ideally, I should rarely need to use the app and I should never have to remember how app features work or where to find features. The robot is not great at avoiding small items like cat toys and small socks, so interventions to extract the items from the main brush can be frequent. The onboard dustbin can become clogged, such as with pet hair, and the device does not detect this, reducing vacuuming effectiveness. Cleaning it is difficult because access is very limited (very small access holes, no way to open it). It has no way at all to avoid liquid spills. When this happens, it will happily distribute the liquid around the room and pull a portion of it into the dustbin. If the device encounters a sticky, gooey mess, as can occasionally happen in a home with pets, it will both distribute the mess around the room and also carry it up into the device's wheel wells and coat the roller housing. Cleaning these areas is difficult because they are not removable and the device is not sealed well enough to allow spraying the bottom with water. I would like for it to have much more aggressive 'small item' avoidance. This would avoid cat toys, socks, and the occasional damp pet ejecta (regardless of which end of the pet was involved). This would potentially reduce cleaning completeness but would be a good trade against the intervention frequency. It desperately needs better access for cleaning the device, wheel tread that is easier to clean (fewer sharp internal corners), removable wheels (allowing easy cleaning of wheel wells), and better access to the dust bin. The most irksome failures are mostly about post-incident cleanup (robot vac/mops tend to focus on fancy avoidance engineering instead of recovery options after inevitable avoidance failures). I don't mind pulling the occasional sock out of the rollers, but cleaning 'mud' out of the wheels is made far more tedious than it could be, and the device is completely unable to avoid liquid spills. Support for dirt-path and traction component disassembly would be extremely helpful for post-incident cleaning. That said, it's a good value and does a good job. ... show more

Happy but not over the moon

This is the 2nd Roborock I've owned. The 1st (q7 max) has been a total workhorse, very satisfied with it, aside from the noise. I've bragged about how well it works to everyone I know. I've been DREAMING for a long time of an upgraded unit with the improvement of "zero tangle" for hair pickup, as that was the main issue I dealt with before (tangled up hair wound so tight on the front brush I had to remove the brush and cut it with scissors to clean it and also at each end of the main brush that it had to be disassembled to untangle. Mind you this was a weekly occurrence. Sad to say that instead of tangling at the edges, the S5V apparently tangles at the "tips" of the opposing brushes. So much in fact, that after only a few weeks of operation (and I had even cleaned/inspected it in that time, since I was used to doing it with the 7max - it wasn't just ignored. I the last time I inspected it was a few days before) I heard a strange clicking sound this morning and to my surprise, I discovered a long hair mass tangled up so badly that it actually CUT the rubber flap on one of the brushes. Haven't even changed the dust bag yet and now it appears that I'm in need of replacing a brush, very disconcerting. I didn't think to take a pic of the hair tangle before I removed it. Hopefully it's a rare issue to deal with. These brushes aren't cheap! I will say - I appreciate the mopping quality and LOVE how much quieter it is. It's less than half as noisy as my 7max. I can easily answer phone calls and hear the TV over it. It's actually so quiet I have a difficult time believing it's over twice the suction power of the 7max. I can actually hear the 7max in the basement OVER the S5V. Am I bummed about the hair issue? Yes. Am I happy with it besides that? Absolutely. Am I as satisfied as I hoped to be with it? I'll have to get back to you on that. ... show more
