Sometimes, the guinea pigs like to be in total darkness. I put this out for them so they can still hide but I can see them. It's a nice place for them to peak out and breath. I added inside a fleece sleeping bag for comfort. This is a really nice hide away that is out in the open but still feeling safe for them. And you can use the corner area. It's easy because the snaps goes easily into the wire frame. You do need something to snap into. The function is it creates a safe space out in the open. The comfort is that they feel safe. I have washed it and it's still holding together. The guinea pigs don't actually do anything to it so it will last you a long time. Okay the down sides...it could be bigger. There are fat guinea pigs and I wish that the other 2 sides had a closure too. ... show more

This fit so cute in my guinea pigs cage. At first they were a little hesitant, but then started to get closer and now they just stay inside. It is a nice big size that covers the corner of the cage. Easy and inexpensive compared to other options. Once these get dirty, I just toss them and buy new ones: they are washable but who wants to deal with that mess. Hay hideaways are expensive and don’t last. Plastic ones get filthy quick and even cardboard boxes get eaten: I have found with two guinea pigs in separate cages that this is the best option. ... show more

These canopies are super cute! They are a good size for one full grown piggy to lay down behind. Which is so convenient that for the price you get two. I purchased one before for a little over 1 or 2 and they were always fighting. I felt bad for the one that was always left out so now they each have one and I have a spare in case one gets chewed up or need to be washed. So far no chewing and to my surprise, no soiling!!! Coco (my guinea that made the first his) does his business outside and then goes back. The only flaw I see is that it should have covers on the sides.
