  • Ring Floodlight Cam 4K Pro (newest model), Hard Wired
Color: White Size: 1 Camera Configuration: Wired
This is my first floodlight camera. I can't offer comparison to the 2K or 1080p clarity, however I can say that the view is equal to looking at my yard in daylight without optics. Any movement up to 150 feet away is picked up. I mounted it 8 1/2 feet from ground. I'm more concerned at the first 50 feet with a wide angle than I am at distance but having that additional sensitivity works for me. I left the sensitivity at default from RING. The lights come on automatically at night in a detection, slight movements from animals or human even weather. It stays on for one minute, no big drain on the electric bill as with my motion floodlights installed 30 years ago. The hard wiring is straight forward assuming you are replacing a floodlight. If it is a new install, you can go on-line to get a tutorial or just hire an electrician. The phone app is very easy to understand and they recommend professionals when wiring doesn't look the same as instructions. I found on-line wiring instructions very helpful especially since I thought I could remember the color coding only to lose that memory days later. Having said that, I believe you need to replace everything in the same day having all needed fixtures, wiring, connectors in advance.of the replacement. There are new connectors made by Wago or Ideal at your big box stores that take up less space and are super easy to connect than the standard wire nuts, almost a no brainer. You must use outdoor caulk around your fixture base and the gap between the mounting base and light fixture in order to remain weatherproof. Also, any openings on base fixture need to have plugs installed with teflon tape or outdoor caulk to stop any moisture intrusion. You still need to download the camera on the app even though you scanned the qr-code when you began the installation process. I found this added step to be a pia because I had to get up on a ladder again (already put away for winter) and try to scan the qr-code which was most difficult when mounted. The alternate option is to get the numbers below the code and enter them. Even with hi resolution glasses it took 3x to get the numbers right. You know, 8's look like 0's and 1's look like 7's, really?!! once that is done, you just wait for camera to talk to you and then get all the tutorials just like any other new RING install. The two LED lights are quite bright when on, 2000 lumens. No, I don't know what a Lumen is but at 2am in a dark sky, it's the same as daylight when activated. The lights are adjustable as well as camera, all simple. I chose RING because a neighbor gave me an older RING that screws into a light bulb socket but I couldn't get the QR Code read. The camera download was simple, except for the qr code being illegible. I researched RING, found the pricing far more in line with what I was willing to spend and bought one gen 2 stick up camera, 2k, battery operated. 4.5 stars from 65,000 users, can't go wrong with this. I was elated with operation, clarity etc. Then purchased one for inside home to see what was pinging kitchen pans in the middle of the nite. It never picked any motion up. I plugged it in, inside my shed and taped it to the window to view my back yard. This indoor cam had upload speed of 24mps, 4x the needed mps for operation outside home and 40ft. from router. I then ordered the floodlight cam which is phenomenal! I don't need extra GEAR to get wi-fi so 18-24mps upload at camera works great! The price is fair. I think it is quite fair if you want hi resolution, color vision, 2000 lumen light activated, 140 degree wide angle, 85 degree vertical and need to protect your wood fuel or big $$ garage tools. $279 is a lot of money, but a lesser view and 2k is $20 less, big deal?, No. Maybe after a couple years it will be obsolete for better tech but for my needs, I won't be replacing ever! And all RING's are portable, so when my dream home comes available, my RING will be there to protect my property. I have spent less than $400 to see 3 sides of my property. I will be purchasing one more stick up camera for last side of my home, $100. That is a small price to pay to protect the 20k in replacement value of property and the videos, pics can be shared with police for arrest and prosecution. I am very satisfied with my RING purchases. I did research 4k camera's 11 months ago when they began to be released. I was looking at high end camera packages with router box and 4 camera's with additional cam's optional totaling excess of $600. I thought this was what I needed. It isn't for my needs. I can run all wi-fi through my router box used for home internet, unlimited connections. There may be better options from other camera's manufacturers, however I wanted simple connections, easy instructions, pics, video sharing and no extra's. Less is more for me. ... show more

  • Great Upgrade ❤️✅ from Tapo or original Ring floodlight
Color: White Size: 1 Camera Configuration: Wired
Just for reference and comparison I originally upgraded from a ring standard def flood light to a Tapo 2K+ Floodlight Security Camera, C720. The picture was better than the standard def with a wider field of view, unfortunately the camera took forever to show a picture. I know Ring has been stepping up their game. So I decided to upgrade again. The install process and bracket are better thought out than the original. The Ring now has a strap for holding the camera while you connect the wires. This worked well. The Ring has a copper ground wire while the Tapo does Not. This is important for an outdoor device. ✅ The setup was quick and easy. I’m impressed by the picture quality and the field of view is better than the Tapo. The most important thing is the picture snaps in quickly compared to the Tapo. On a side note seems the connection quality is also better. I was holding back buying this because I thought it would be about the same. I was wrong, I should have bought sooner. ... show more

  • Nice camera
Color: White Size: 1 Camera Configuration: Wired
So far we are pleased with the camera. Although I can't say the 10x enhance is that impressive. The color quality compared to our old camera isn't as good. We got a good deal and that price is worth it. But wait till you see a good sale. It was very easy to install and set up and the lights are nice and bright. The night vision is much better hands down. You can actually see pretty clearly without the lights coming on with motion which is nice. All in all we like the camera but are hoping for some software updates that might correct the color and zoom. ... show more

These are great—I love that they yell at everyone who walks or drives by my home constantly. If you pay for RingPro you can get notifications your dogs are chickens and goats and you are sweeping your patio when you are not! They work great and are easy to install!

  • Ring light camera.
Color: White Size: 1 Camera Configuration: Wired
Very easy to install and set up. Bought the Ring camera for out side over my deck. Replaced an older light/camera. Basic wiring, good directions (scan QR code for directions). Package comes with everything you need. Took me maybe 30 to 45 minutes to install and get working. Just follow directions, it walks you through everything. Good camera, nice picture quality. ... show more
