UPDATE: Ring contacted us almost immediately and I have to say Brett was wonderful! He is working with us to get the cameras/our issues resolved. I change the stars from 3 to a 5 because of the interaction with Brett. He seemed truly concerned about the problems we are having! ……….We bought this on a package deal with the solar panel. Believe we got a bait and switch and got a refurbished camera when we ordered “new” not “like new”. We have several other cameras and have switched places with this one thinking it was our WiFi signal not being strong enough in the area it was in. We even had our provider out and they said our signal was fine. Wherever we move this particular camera to, the signal strength reads on this over 90 and looses signal. We are having to reboot every day to get it reconnected. None of the others moved loose signal. ... show more

    • Requires New Ring App Not Supported By All Devises

I purchased the Ring Spotlight Cam Pro Battery along with an additional battery, solar panel, solar panel extension cord and solar panel gutter mount as an add on to my existing Ring system. When I tried to link it to my system, I got a notification that I needed to install the new Ring App. When I tried installing the new app I got a notification that it was not supported by Android 8.0 (the newest version supported by my current cell phones). After a couple calls to Ring Technical Support I was told that there was nothing they could do and that Ring and Amazon have the same 30 day return policy and that I shouldn't have waited over 30 days to try to set up the new Cam. The person I spoke said I should just get new phones that support the new app. When I said that wasn't an option, they said that they could pick up the items but would not credit me for them (so I'm supposed to give the equipment I can't use back to them for free???). When I asked if there was any other solution, I was told I "could just sell it to a friend". Quite possibly the worst Technical Support/Customer Service experience ever!!!! Now I'm stuck with hundreds of dollars of equipment I can't use. There should have been some sort of notification that the new app was required and that it wasn't compatible with slightly older cell phones. UPDATE: Ring Support reached out to resolve the issue and apologized for the rude Technical Support person. They are picking up the camera and refunding me for the purchase price. I still only left 4 stars because there should be a notice before purchase of the device requirements of the camera. ... show more

I like that it’s compact with the basic features really needed to accommodate the reasons for security, however suggest the company to look into making it with zooming possibilities controlled automatically ( of course in settings) and manually by owner/ users. And also look into making them in different colors. Example if your house is covered with light blue siding you might want camera to blend so it’s not really noticeable for the clients that want such capabilities. Just saying 🤷🏽. No harm in in a few other basic colors.. other than white, brown n black..! Note: cam spotlight is not wired like the Floodlight for those not aware, wiring kits available for additional price. ... show more

If you are considering using this camera, I would tell you to go for it. If you are not familiar with Ring cameras, you should know that you need an app and will have to pay $100 to have all your cameras synced. There are def cheaper options out there. However, I am a fan of the Ring cameras. I have 4 motion cameras as well as the motion doorbell. I love them. They are easy to use and sync to your phone via the app. You can communicate through the camera to whoever may be in your yard. This camera in particular needs to have its battery changed. Most ring cameras don’t last more than 5-7 days with their batteries. At the moment, this camera is on week 3, and going strong. I haven’t had to change the batteries but once since I got it 2 months ago. That’s pretty awesome. ... show more

Needed a spotlight in the backyard for when the dog does his necessities to be able to pick up after him and since I have some open desert space behind me and where someone could easily jump the fence if they wanted to I figured I would knock out two needs with one. The spotlights are not bright at all. I doubt the lights are anywhere near 300 lumens. Believe it or not I actually read the instructions and following installation guidelines I decided to put it under the eaves to keep the camera from overheating since I live in AZ. Because of this I don't get very good video quality at all once the sun goes down. The infrared lights around the camera are too bright and causes it to bounce off the wall and fascia which is what xauses the poor viewing quality. I'm sure it's amazing when mounted in an open space. And for those who are reading and asking why I didn't buy the larger spotlight camera, it's because it can't be ceiling mounted and wouldn't fit under the eave away from direct sunlight. It just doesn't live up to my particular needs. ... show more

the one thing i will say you will need to get if you buy this camera is a actual wall mount, the one it comes with is NOT that sturdy and is kinda sketchy when your hanging it up. Its actually a big Ring camera, wasn't expecting that, but its great!
