So this is an update to my initial review. Despite the damages to the box, the unit was fine. The only issues I ran into were step #3, 7, 8 & 9. In step #3 it looks so easy to remove the cover plate but I had to pry it off (after making sure it wasn't locked. In steps 7,8 &9 I got confused and lost by the directions. I had to reverse engineer from step 9 before I understood the goal. Overall it is a great bike rack but I only gave it three stars because of the confusing directions. ... show more

I wanted to be able to carry my bikes while having full access my hatchback (Honda Civic 5dr). I was also worried that the bike rack would be loud then driving and make a whistling sound that you could hear inside the car. Then I did my research and came across this RhinoRack Bike Carrier. After reading other similar reviews I was sold. The most amazing thing is how quiet this rack is when driving down the road. I hardly notice any whistling even when driving on the freeway at 75+ mph. I paired mine with the Rhino Rack Vortex Roc25 roof rack. It’s very easy to get my bikes onto the rack and I like the peace-of-mind that comes with the tether lock and arm lock. I also really like that I’m able to fully fold down the carrier when there is no bikes in use (second picture). With the bikes on top of my car, I’m able to extend my hatchback door fully. Wasn't sure what the quality was going to be on this rack when I ordered it, but it had good reviews so I ordered. The rake is extremely well made, excellent quality couldn't be happier with it, loaded my MTB hauled over 24 hours total, no a wiggle, jiggle or any concerns what so ever. Assembled easily. Easily configured for left or right side of vehicle. Use these to haul two fat bikes over the bed of the truck (had to buy the kits to extend the tire straps & bars). Works as well as I hoped. Two key locks per bike rack for added security.
