I purchased this to go on the roof of my 2015 Honda Civic as I did not want to put a hard rack on my roof. I have a 8 foot kayak that weighs 37lbs and I wanted something so I could take the kayak out by myself. I’m a 67-year-old woman and this was perfect for me. The roof rack is extremely easy to install, and it came with all the necessary straps and tiedowns. I particularly like the T handled straps that go under the hood and under the trunk to help tie down the front and back of the kayak. I can install the whole roof system in less than 15 minutes, add about 15 more minutes to get my kayak, loaded and tied down. I also appreciate the padding of the rack system, which protects my cars paint. I’ve use this 4 time since I purchased it, and it gets easier to put on every time. I’ve also traveled 40 miles at highway speeds of 55 to 60 mph with no problem. I have kayak buddies who were very impressed with the system and looking to purchase as well. Highly recommend.

Worked great for our soft top jeep, with top on and off! Only needed the straps supplied, worked perfectly with carabiner to spare and one down to hood anchors. So easy to store too!

I bought this for my 14 ft tandem that would fit on top of a Chrystler Town n Country with no roof rack and sliding doors. With all the odds stacked against me for this vehicle to be able to carry things on the roof, this rack was VERY EASY to install and got the job done perfectly!! I wasn’t worried at all about the security, even driving at high speeds on the highway, it held very solid! Had everything you needed included in the kit, directions were easy to understand, and one person can do this!

Size: Use Without Roof Rack (With Straps)
This works great for transporting my 10’ recreational kayak on my 2-door MINI Cooper. Takes maybe 10 minutes to setup and get the kayak secure. The straps run along the ceiling over the front seats and can be a slight nuisance for taller people (6’). If for some reason I decided to take a cross country trip with it, I might look into a better way to run the straps to alleviate that nuisance.

I bought this before I went to pick up a new kayak. It turns out that some kayaks can not be set on a flat bumper pad. I bought a Old Towne 11xt that needed a V shape arrangement on my roof rack sitting cockpit side up, so I had to send this back. That said, I did have the package open and ready to install at the kayak dealer. This product looked very well made, sturdy velcro closure and the right tiedowns! It would be perfect for flat bottom kayaks like SUPs, some sit upon kayaks, and other kayaks with large cockpits that you can put upside-down on the pads (like a Jackson Tripper12 I used to own). Do your homework before buying!

Held my stand up, inflatable paddleboard. No problem transporting to the lake. Noted to have some vibration in the fabric ties, see you here, a buzzing/humming from the tiedown straps. Easy to install and use.
