I am a beginner and want to learn how to use a tattoo machine. This kit comes with several bottles of ink, needles, tattoo gun, and other accessories. The kit comes with good instructions as well. The tattoo gun feels good in my hands. It’s not too heavy, but it has a slight weight to it. After researching, I have found that the ink is not a higher quality, but it’s great for practice on tattoo skins. I wouldn’t expect it to last very long if used on regular skin. The needles fit the tattoo machine well. It holds ink with minimal leakage, but the leaking may be due to user error as I’m new to this. The battery seems to hold charge well. It might be best to charge in between use to keep it from running out of power when using it for longer periods. I’m a beginner, so I’m only using practice skins at this time. It does smear on the practice skins. I’m not sure if it’s the ink quality or since it doesn’t appear to absorb as well as skin would. The pen does a very nice job with shading and outlines. With high quality ink and needles, I feel that this tattoo machine would work almost flawlessly for traditional tattoos. It’s also easy to store since it comes with a nice case to keep everything together. I recommend making sure the caps are snug on the bottles or else they can leak on everything. I’m truly impressed by the overall quality of the tattoo gun. It feels durable and works well. I’d recommend this kit.

The media could not be loaded. Excellent tattoo machine. Interesting accessories bundle, a little different than most in that it contains a tattoo soap. This, being a practice kit, is unusual to have tattoo soap. I find that petroleum jelly tend to clean fake skin better, while tattoo soap is better when used on real human skin. But the soap is great, it is equivalent to green soap, foams well, cleans well, and has Ethanol to give it a mild antimicrobial quality. Now, the machine is the main part. The machine is fantastic. Stroke adjustable meaning it will work for both lining and shading. Both the stroke length and throw adjustment has a very clear click when adjusting and is not easily bumped out of place. The one problem I noticed here is that the arrow indication where your stroke length is is white in color, but on a gold background. This makes it very difficult to see, especially when the machine is wrapped in a plastic sleeve. The machine has a bit of weight to it, but isn't difficult to manage. Slightly heavier than what I like, but it is sturdy. Feels sturdy, runs smoothly and steadily. At 4.2mm, it carries a punch when lining. Everything else is fairly standard and ok. Ink, of course, is good for practice, but I generally don't use the ink in this type of kits for real skin. Needle is good for real skin, as is the stencil and soap. Of all the kits out there, if I absolutely had to use the included ink for skin, it would probably be this one. First of all, because it is packaged well, it is branded, and actually contains use information in the blister pack. The carrying case is simple but nice. Plastic box that latches, but enough to store your stuff between practice.

First of all, let me say that I don't tattoo humans; I am a livestock breeder who uses ear tattoos to permanently ID my breeders. Some of the things that matter most to me might not matter to tattoo artists at all and vice versa. With that in mind: I really like this pen. It's comfortable in my hand, not too heavy for extended use. While the instructions provided are pretty minimal, there's lots of good info on youTube showing how to use it. It's not so loud that it disturbs the animals while I'm working on them, even being right at their ear during the process. The battery holds a charge well, allowing me to tattoo multiple animals in the same session (6 digits per animal, approximately 3/4" high). The grip tape works well, and similar tape is easy to find locally when you run out -- I typically use similar stuff from the feed store and just cut the strips lengthwise. The needles splutter a bit occasionally. I'm not thrilled by that and have switched to a different brand of cartridges for this reason. Since most needles provided weren't the write sizes for my purposes, this wasn't a huge loss anyway (I only use 3 and 5 RLs). I like the soap provided and haven't noted any reactions to it. It seems to disinfect the skin surface well without drying it out like the rubbing alcohol I've used in the past. When doing a quick search online regarding the ink, I found conflicting reports on whether it's safe for use on skin. Since I couldn't get a definitive answer I chose to purchase ink I knew was safe for food animals. Most reports seem to suggest the ink included is only suitable for use on practice skin and may cause reactions in skin. All in all, the pen is a great tool and fairly priced for its quality. The rest of the kit isn't really stuff I'll use going forward, but the transfer paper, fake skin, gloves, etc. all seem to be of decent quality. I doubt it's what someone tattooing professionally on humans is looking for long-term, but it's completely functional for on-farm use.
