  • Super Stoked with this Adjustable Bench!!!
Color: Black
I really wanted the Rogue Fitness Adjustable Bench 3.1, but could not justify spending 600 clams to land it. After a bit of research, I decided on the REP FITNESS Adjustable Bench (AB-3100 V3). The build on this bench is rock solid. Assembly was super-easy. It took me maybe 10-15 minutes to assemble this bench from start to finish, and that was really taking my time. I would recommend using your own tools, rather than the two that are included. The pads are solid, thick and comfortable. The handle on the front along with the two wheels on the rear make this bench very maneuverable, which is really nice. Adjusting the back & seat cushions is simple and (again) very solid. My son and I will be using this bench 5-6 days a week, so I will update my review after a few months of use. From what I'm seeing this bench was built to last. I'm very happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • Solid Bench at a Great Price
Color: Black
After using the same Bodysmith (Parabody) FID bench for the past 15 years, I decided to invest in a newer model. I love the 17" height of my old bench but the padding has seen better days and since I seldom use the decline function, I wanted a bench with a narrower seat pad for better leg/feet placement when benching and especially doing heavy dumbbell work. I did consider the Rep AB-3000 FID but as I stated above, I wanted to avoid a decline bench with the wide seat pad. Other potential candidates include the Rogue 2.0 and Legend 3103 adjustable benches. When the Rep AB-3100 V2 came out recently, it became the obvious "value" choice besides offering comparable or better features than the Rogue and Legend models. More on this later in my review. After using the bench for the past few weeks I feel i can make an honest assessment of the pros and cons - for my particular needs. The Pros: 1. 16 7/8" flat height. This is perhaps the most important factor for me. I am 5'7" and my wife and daughters (who also use my home gym) are even shorter. I had a newer Body Solid bench that I seldom used, mostly because of the 20" height (as well as the large seat gap). 2. The narrow seat pad. Again, I don't use the decline function and wanted to avoid the wide seat width. 3. Simple and sturdy ladder adjustment. Coupled with the vertical support in the flat position, this is just a rock solid bench. I have benched 405# at my 200# bodyweight and it feels very solid and planted. 4. Minimal 1.5" seat gap. I hardly notice this gap when doing flat work. It is actually slightly smaller than the Rogue 2.0 I used in the past. 5. Fairly wide 11.5" (maximum) pad width. While a competition bench is 12" in width, this bench is wide enough for my use. Compares well to the 11.25" width for the Rogue 2.0 and better than the 10.25" width of the Legend model. I do wish it measured 11.5" over the entire length of the pad however. 6. Functional wheels. These are larger and actually more usable than the smaller wheels on the Rogue 2.0 7. Value price. I probably shouldn't admit this, but I would have paid more (up to $300) for this bench. I live in Ohio and the Rogue 2.0 would have cost me $726 including shipping and tax. The Legend model is not much less. The Cons: 1. Limited seat angle positions. Just like the Rogue 2.0, the seat does not incline enough for use at moderate bench incline angles. While it is usable, a steeper seat angle would enhance stability when using the narrower incline angles. The Legend bench has a definite advantage here. 2. Minimum 30 degree incline angle. While this angle is fine for most of my incline work, I do like the option of a 15 - 20 degree angle as well. Both the Rogue and Legend models have this feature, as does the Rep AB-3000. 3. Near 90 degree high setting. While the Rep indicates their AB-3000 having an 85 degree setting, I measured 89 degrees on this model. Rep could have easily added another shallower angle and adjusted the high angle to 85 degrees by simple changes to the ladder position Fit and finish were fine for a bench in this price range. I did have an issue with the foam on the seat cushion. It seemed to be cut at an incorrect angle on one side with a noticeable absence of foam on one end of the seat pad. After contacting Rep and sending some photos, they promptly sent me a replacement pad. So all and all I am very satisfied with this bench. While higher end benches like the Rogue and Legend have neater welds, better coatings, and nicer padding....IMO they are not worth more than three times what Rep charges for this model. I don't know of any other flat/incline bench even close in price that can match up to this Rep model. I think most home gym owners will be happy with this bench. ... show more

  • Worth the money for certain
Color: Black
I'm setting up a garage gym and must have researched 100 different benches. I'm trying to do it on the cheap so I initially had a <$100 bench picked out, but after some further consideration decided to spend the extra money on the bench, which will be a staple of my home gym and used constantly. That said, this bench is everything you could want without having to spend hundreds more. Pros: The bench is plenty wide without being bulky or burdensome. The material is grippy unlike your slick commercial gym benches, and offers a pretty wide array of incline options (bench does not decline), and the peg and hook system to change between levels is quick and easy vs the pin systems I've used in the past. The bottom seat portion also had 3 settings, flat and 2 incline positions (also peg and hook). I do a lot of seated shoulder pressing and I've used benches in the past that were too flat and I found myself slipping forward on the seat under weight. It doesn't happen at all with this bench, and I typically only have it on the first incline option. The cushion is real firm without feeling uncomfortable, so I feel plenty stable under load without feeling like I'm on a cement floor. The nice big handle at the bottom and the rear wheels allow me to move the bench around freely, which was a must due to the confined space I have for the gym. Also, the gap between the top and bottom seat when laid flat is the smallest I could find in this price range. There are some "no gap" benches out there, but you're going to pay a lot more for what I'd consider a minimal difference. I've flat benched plenty on this bench and haven't once noticed the minimal gap. No need to stuff a towel in there as I've seen some reviewers do with other benches in this price range. Cons: The only con I could find is that the front foot stabilizer is only a single foot. I like to do barbell hip thrusts while leaning against a bench the long way, and if I do that without pushing the bench against the wall it will tip over. Not a big deal for me since I have a wall right there to push it up against, but just something to consider if you do the same. I lean on the bench for other exercises such as dumbbell rows and it doesn't budge, it's just this one particular application. Overall, if you intend putting up some decent weight on a bench, it's hard to beat this bench in this price range. Well worth the extra $100 over a cheap flimsy bench, with near quality and functionality of ones that cost several hundred more. ... show more

Color: Black
Solid, sturdy bench. The padding is top notch, non slip material. Nice, thick and comfortable padding. Very easy to adjust. Very easy to assemble. You will never need to buy another bench. This is the only bench you will ever need. It will last forever. Long after you are gone, someone else will be using your bench. Its that good. Nothing short of a nuclear warhead can damage this bench. It’s ROCK SOLID. However, you can save money by buying it directly from the rep fitness website. ... show more
