An Almost Ideal Home Surveillance Product For Hard To Reach With Power Line I've owned a Reolink Duo2 since August 2023. I was very satisfied with it in the first few months. The resolution is good. The camera's 180° angle is capable of capturing a wide spectrum of view in one camera with two lens. The solar powered battery based device was a unique one suited for my use case. The solar panel and the camera are installed in a location in which the sun light exposure is very much from sunrise to sunset; therefore, power is never a problem. The App provides a great UI to achieve almost anything that I could think of except... (I'll get to it shortly). Just about time (4+ months on) to acquire more such devices, the device would intermittently go offline. This happened in a cycle of approximately once every few weeks as such that it demanded a power recycle of the camera or else no event recording whatsoever was saved in the micro SD. As the frequency of the issue went up, it became obvious that there was some issue with the camera. Such a nice product, I had high expectations, e.g., a configurable auto-reboot but I couldn't find such a feature in the App. It eventually wore out my patience. So I reached out to the customer support for help. The Reolink customer support personals are very detail-oriented and responsive. All correspondences without exceptions are conducted within 24 hours. In a few days of troubleshooting with the tech support, they offered me an RMA with a new replacement. The Reolink support handles the case with the highest priority that I received my replacement camera 3 days after I shipped my bad unit back to the Reolink warehouse. After 2 months of uptime, the [apparently a newer version of] Duo2 is still working well at this point. I am very satisfied by the support and with the product. I highly recommend the product. Nice to enhance: 1. Auto reset. 2. Configurable pre-buffer video on event detection. 3. Non-Detection Zone, Others, need to have paint over desirable areas instead of "Paint All". 4. For camera recording, the camera needs to have a configurable pre-buffered recording duration, e.g. 1s, 5s. Yes, this demands a memory buffer. New problem: Huawei Mate 60 playback of older recording (by the previous camera) does not work. The playback will be stuck at the "Loading Stream..." forever and no video will ever be played at all. This is apparently a compatibility issue--new software issue. Room for improvements.

First let me start by saying Reolinks customer service is second to none!!! It is rare to find a company with a product they make claims about and then will fully stand behind those claims!!! I own 5 different Reolink cameras. I have been a customer for over 4 years. I recently purchased this Duo 2 camera. I had wanted the dual camera for a while and finally purchased it. The features and video quality are amazing!!! Build feels premium. There is a good weight to this camera!! It worked flawlessly until about 1 month ago. The only issue it was having was half the infrared lights were not working at night so half the picture/video was dark. I tried all the trouble shooting step and those only worked temporarily for about a week. During this time I had reached out to Reolink customer service. So they were quick to respond and were in regular communication with me while trying all the troubleshooting steps. The great thing was I was always communicating with the same rep who was aware what was going on. Once we tried all the troubleshooting they were quick to issue a warranty replacement. He even reached out to me more for follow ups than me reaching out. I had to return the current camera first before they could send the new one. However I was amazed on how easy the return process was and how quickly I received the new camera. I dropped off the old camera on a Thursday at 6pm at the UPS STORE; cheapest shipping available, not due to arrive at Reolink until the following Tuesday. I let my customer service rep know I dropped it off, he was able to confirm the drop of. Then it was unreal; I received the new camera on Saturday. Amazing!!!! Remember people; this a piece of high tech equipment. A lot goes into these type of cameras, but the customer service of Reolink has consistently been exceptional. Anytime I have had any issues they respond and worked with me quickly. Their follow thru and ownership is superb. All other cameras have worked great so they have proven to be reliable. Remember that you also must have consistent WiFi. There are limits to tech equipment working properly if you don’t have good reliable internet service!!! Thank you Reolink for standing behind your products and for amazing customer service!!! I 100% recommend your products to everyone!!!

These cameras have been a living nightmare. They repeatedly drop connection to wi-fi. The reset process is INSANE. You will have to open up the camera by removing a tiny set screw - which upside down if the camera is mounted and you are on a ladder is horrible to do. I have had so many resets I found just dismounting the camera and unplugging it and carrying it down to ground works best. When you open it up and search for the tiny black reset hole on all black background it starts this totally lame voice message that repeats in multiple languages and doesnt shut off. You will go insane listening to it repeat while you struggle with the damn camera. You have to scan a QR code on the camera which of course will be up against the wall after you mount the camera. On another Argus PT camera the code is INSIDE the camera and you have to take it apart! Imagine your camera drops wifi and instead of a simple app to reconnect it you end up having to take the camera apart just to begin the reset!! Then you enter wi-fi info in the app and it generates a QR code which IMMEDIALLY given their terrible application GOES DIM AND ISNT READABLE. So you have to screenshot it, save it then brighten it up. They you try to get the camera to read it. GOOD LUCK! I had to take the camera to a shady spot and you hold it 3 feet away (not near the camera like you would think!) Then it may or may not beep and you can continue. I had cameras that just wouldn't read the code no matter how hard I tried (nightmare!) The tech help will answer you with boiler plate instructions barely in English and tell you idiotic stuff like "try another phone to scan" when it is their awful software that doesnt work. Buy these and live the nightmare after you try to install, then you might succeed then they go dead repeatedly and you stuggle to keep them working.
