INITIAL REVIEW: These are pretty good cameras and if you can find a light bulb socket that is in a good location (not always the case) it really saves time in running wires and so on that other types require. The programming of the cameras to the WiFi is very slow and imprecise. I had to factory reset the camera in order to get it to pair. Even after that it took a little while before the camera recognized the bar code on the phone. After installation it has worked flawlessly. The only thing is that certain features are locked away unless you pay for a subscription. You can use an SD card and that will save the video. It has a light that you activate via the app. It also has two-way communication so you can listen and speak. The camera can be rotated remotely via the app - 360 degrees on the horizontal plane and 180 degrees in the vertical - so you can set it up exactly where you want it, when you want it. So far, so good, though. I'm happy with the purchase and I recommend it. Just don't expect the world from it and you will be fine. UPDATE: Two years after owning this camera (one failed before it was even installed) I can tell you that you should avoid these at all cost. The camera is rubbish. The quality of the images seemed to deteriorate with time, getting worse and worse. After a recent storm, the image has become foggy and blurry and the SD card suddenly needs to be reformatted. I have done so, but now there is yet another problem. The Wyze cameras I have went through the same storm, but still work flawlessly. But that's the least of the worries. All of a sudden ads and popups plague every opening of the app and it is almost impossible to do anything with it. The app was never the best to begin with, but now it is atrocious. Stay away from these steaming piles of garbage.

i had the units for about a month. had issue with it detected and recorded image without any one or thing in the recording clip. i had this problem within the first couple of weeks. i thought maybe i try to figure it out. in live view if i entered the field of view i can see myself, but it does not show it on the recorded clip on cloud, or no recording at all. of course it's now pass the 30 days return window . update: i have the same problem as this user comment. i subsequently cancel my subscription. so now it is not functional gathering dust. i contacted the seller/mfg, don't remember they had responded or resolve my issue. here is quoted the other user comment: "Honestly, the product isn’t all that great. There is a delay on recording and most of the time you won’t even see who popped up on the camera unless they stand in front of it long enough and if you want to actually see them you’re forced to pay for the subscription. I sent an email to the manufacturer and I was told it was an internet issue on my end but it’s not. I am running 500mgbps of speeds all for myself. When I replied and told them it was a software issue and needed an update no one replied back. If you’re looking for something simple. This is it. Maybe to watch the baby, or overlook your living room. If you’re looking for top notch home security it’s best to just invest in a whole system and just spend triple digits. Oh and expect it to go off all hours of the day to absolutely nothing. The camera gives off feedback noise from the inside and it sets it off and when you check no one is even there. This isn’t an exaggeration. And I waited half a year to make this review so that I can make sure I wasn’t wrong about what I’m saying."

We use them on our driveway and main entrance. PROs: very good price for 2 pack, clear HD image, good nighttime image, zoom is easy to do, SD card slot so you don’t have to pay for cloud storage, 2 way speaker connection is OK. CONS: loses wifi connection sporadically, setup make need a few tries, relentless offer of cloud plans - which are expensive. All in all it’s been good; we’ve had them for nearly a month.

I have bought this camera on two different occasions thinking that the outcome would be different. Cameras only last maybe a good 6 months, then after it will disconnect from WiFi and never connect again. After this all the camera will do is beep beep beep, without connecting to the WiFi and without ever working again. I done plugged into numerous light sockets only to get the same results. For the price it’s a quality camera for 6 months, but the detection sucks. The motion detection never detects people so the clips you will see in the cloud will only be clips after people have passed by due to I’m guessing a time delay. Will not recommend unless you need this temporary
