UPDATE!!

UPDATED REVIEW! As you can see from the Original Review at the bottom... BELOW this update, I was and am still not satisfied with these cameras. HOWEVER, something truly unbelievable is the GREAT Customer Service Dept and Tech Support of the AOSU organization. I contacted them 1 DAY AFTER the 30-Day Return Window of Amazon Prime membership, to see if there was any chance to return them anyway, since my delay was due to circumstances beyond my control. The problems were that all cameras were slow to detect motion, and one camera just would not work at all, after only a few days. I was contacted by "Lynette" of the AOSU Customer Service/Tech Support. Later I found out that I could even contact them by PHONE, though all our communication was by EMAIL. I explained all I had tried, and the results. She offered several options to try, and I tried them to no avail. After 4-5 emails back and forth, and my even offering some possible reasons for the slow communication between the cameras and Wifi Router (like the solid concrete with rebar walls on my house), seeing that I had done due diligence to try to have them work, Lynette said that their main concern is having their product satisfy the needs of their customer base... and even after replacing the one camera that would not work at all, she offered me a FULL REFUND of my purchase (4 cameras + homebase), without even requiring me to return the cameras, because even though they didn't work for me as a detection system for home security, they do work to be able to see what is going on outside, and the fact that I can turn the view of the cameras 360 deg around and view up/down 90 deg, they still do have a value and purpose. I had read on some other reviews that their customer service was really good and workable, which in my opinion is by far their greatest value, as I have dealt with another 'foreign' security camera on Amazon, and could not even contact them either by phone or email. Luckily, I was able to return those (other brand) before the 30-day return window had closed. NOW I cannot say enough GOOD things about AOSU (the company), not just because they gave me a full refund, but because they were willing to work with me to try to get them to work as they should. Who knows WHY these cameras did not work on my house as by contrast others seem happy to report that they work on theirs. We are in the process of buying another house (with Block and Stucco instead of Solid Concrete Walls) and will try these cameras on that house. IF THEY WORK THERE... I will offer to refund the refund to AOSU, or buy more cameras for that house... Fair is Fair. IF you have a house with solid concrete walls with rebar in them, be aware that such could be the problem of a slow or failing communication with your WiFi. If such, then perhaps a (non-wireless) cameras may be the solution, if you have easy access to the WiFi, through your attic. As to the attached SOLAR PANELS I thought that it would be a problem, due to installing them near the overhang soffits, blocking the sun's rays to charge them, (we have a 1-story house), but then I discovered an attachment that lets you mount them on a gutter. My cameras were always at 100% charged with just a few hours of daylight, and worked all night (under normal use), as the longer one is viewing them at night (especially with the light on), the more wear there is on the charge. Aside from the possible mishaps (like mine) I highly recommend these cameras. I also highly DO NOT recommend the other security camera system that begins with "HI..." (I don't think I am allowed to say their name), as I was never able to get a response from them. Pricewise, they are about the same whether purchased at Amazon or directly through AOSULife.com/products. AOSU also has Fast, Free Shipping, a 30-day Return Policy/Guarantee, and a 365-Day Warranty, PLUS 24/7 Customer Service, just like Amazon... And if you ever have a problem with them, no matter who you bought them from, Lynette is far nicer to chat with. THANK YOU LYNETTE for all your help and restoring my faith in your products. ORIGINAL REVIEW: (09/11/2025); ordered 08/11/2025. I waited 4 wks to be able to give an accurate review. These cameras are undependable. I set up a cam on both front corners as well as 1 in middle at entryway. The corner ones can turn 270 degrees to cover front and sides. The entry way was there to try to find out WHO keeps picking up my paparazzi at the driveway and bringing it to my front door. I still don’t know. 1 corner camera picks up people and cars on the street OR people sitting on our front patio, BUT no one walking into our yard UNTIL the get within 10ft of the house. NOT as advertised. Entryway cam picks up some people on the street, but starts recording at middle of their walk thru the view OR a person LEAVING, but NOT ARRIVING. One cam seemed to do a better job than the other 2 in front, so I switched their locations. Effectively, the better cam worked better than the other two, even in new locations. I changed the settings to max sensitivity, tried different options… Motion, People, etc to no avail. They are still not worth the investment. Another problem is loading a video… loading, loading, loading, but it never loads. And the segment times vary, who knows why. Sometimes it shows video alert, even though nothing is seen on video. Sound is broken up and brightness set to 2K it self changes to Soft, on its own, so no use to try to set anything if it will self adjust. I CANNOT RECOMMEND these cams for security. At most they are only good to see what is happening outside LIVE, but you could be robbed or assaulted in your home and the homebase MAY or MAY NOT alert you to what is coming in, because apparently they can’t see it. Also it the DEFAULT view is set, while it CAN turn 360deg it only sees the Default View, an is unaware of anyone coming from a side view. NOT worth the money spent. I was going to get a Door Entry cam, but NO WAY after seeing what these cams do and DON’T DO. And now 1 camera quit working… uses up all the battery and solar won’t charge it. Tried charging it manually and that doesn’t charge it either… AFTER JUST FOUR WEEKS OLD.

Best Customer Service

A few months ago I purchased the aoso D-1 Classic 4 Cam kit to replace cameras from COX homelife. These new cameras were so simple to install and the picture is great and very clear even at night. After a few days one camera just adjusted by its self to facing directly down, nothing I did corrected the issues. I followed all the instructions I could find to correct it but nothing worked, so I called customer service and reach someone immediately who took all the information and he asked me a few questions. Then he and stated he would forward my information to a technician. I thought here we go I'll never hear from them again. The next day I got an email from a technician named Lynette after a few emails back and forward and many attempts to fix the issue. We decided a new camera was required. However Lynette stated the camera I needed was on back order and she would notify me once it was shipped. Again I thought great I will never see that camera. A few days later I got an email from Lynetta stating the camera had shipped and I would get in a few days and to my surprise I did. I installed the new camera and everything is up and running great. Lynetta reached out a few days later to ensure all arrived and was working. That's the kind of customer service we done see much of these days. I'm truly thankful for the customer service I received from all that I spoke too during this ordeal. However I'm especially thankful to Lynetta who took the time to ensure I was taken care of and satisficed with the produce and the service I receive.. I highly recommend aosu security cameras.

Extremely Happy

Installation was fairly easy and the cameras are great. The clarity & night vision are both very good (see picture). Wifi connectivity was easy and has worked considerably well with no interruptions. We have been using them for 2 weeks. I did notice that one camera is staying at 37% but I haven’t reached out to the manufacturer yet. Adjustability for cars versus people works really well and is simple to use.

Great quality camera system

Bought these for my senior aged parents about a year and a half ago after a stranger knocked on their door at 4 am and wouldn't say who he was. Installation was easy enough. I got some 2x4's, spray painted them white to match the house's trim and mounted the cameras to the 2x4's, then I could mount the 2x4's with the cameras anywhere I wanted without worrying about the solar panels being obstructed. Picked 4 areas free of foliage at the front door, back door, driveway, and the rear corner of the house next to their bedroom. There's no issues keeping them charged. They've worked great with no problems since installed. I shared the password with my siblings so all 4 of us downloaded the app and we can keep an eye on the exterior of their house. My mom has used the two way communication feature for unexpected arrivals and the motion sensor flood light with movement tracking is effective. She said she feels a lot safer. Video quality is sharp. Connectivity works fine using a single wireless router for the whole house.

Easy set up, great camera quality! Night vision on these are great, quality overall is amazing. Auto detect works, but is not as sensitive as I would like. The camera battery lasts forever, I think the solar charging works amazingly. The cross camera tracking could be set up better, but I think that goes back to the sensitivity. These cameras do follow movement which is awesome. Overall highly recommend, I think it's much better then blink systems and other camera systems. I will update with any issues I see on these but honestly it's the best camera system for the price. I have recommended to several people and everyone is pleased with it so far.

Good system, but a few warnings...

Pros: - Easy to set up. Cameras work well, and image is decent, but not "license-plate-clear" past maybe 30 feet in low light. - App seems nice and easy to use also. - Love the "no subscription required" event recording feature, and the remote live "PTZ" viewing. - Unpowered battery life seems to be a couple/few days, which is decent. - Cameras can run on Solar or USB C power (adapters not provided, only the cables). Cons: - Re: motion sensing - be sure to set each camera's "Default View" so it can "see 'em coming a mile away", because the camera has a 1-2 second delay between "sensing" and "acting", meaning if one can run fast enough to beat that delay, the camera might miss him. - "360° panning" is true, BUT be aware that when the camera hits "360°", it stops tracking and moving, until the object in question returns to view. If not, camera resets to its default position in 30 seconds. This means that camera placement must accommodate that weakness. "Color Night Vision" means a LIGHT comes on, triggering the sensor to revert camera to color. It looks great, but if you don't want a bright light coming on, then black-and-white night vision is all you get. - Re: Subscription fees... Aosu sort of "hides" info about subscription plans until you actually get the app, sign in, and look at the deals, which is a bit shady. Also, it's pricey if you opt for a "Plus" subcription, which goes up in price with EACH camera. A 5-cam subscription is like $280 per year. - I bought a four-camera system, but they only offer a three- or a five-camera subscription. So they've either got you buying not enough or too much in some cases. Also, in order to control five cameras on the app, you need to buy ANOTHER Homebase, because each one apparently only accommodates four cameras unless you but the big 6-camera package with a bigger Homebase. - ALSO, not all cameras go with all base srstions BE CAREFUL when buying, if you plan to add stuff later - be sure everything is compatible. VERY confusing. So this is all kind of scrambled, perhaps on purpose to make you spend more money, which is obnoxious. Definitely not the cheapest service, but it does open up some cool features, if you got the money. Overall, a good system, but they're sneaky with the pricing, and there a few "buggers" to be accommodated in your settings/placement. Experimentation is in order. Took me 4 hours to settle on 4 good places/settings for the cameras, as the only way to know if the placement is good, is to install it and then find out. Very hard to hold the camera and test placement. Bottom line, it's a good system and app, BUT be aware of these weaknesses and check subscription pricing and component cross-compatibility before buying.

Concrete Block Mounting a bit tough

I believe it deserves 5 stars, but I need to explain why. I live in Florida in a block house so the screws, etc. don't work well or in my opinion not at all. So in order to mount the cameras outside I needed to drill a hole using my hammer drill and a masonry bit. Then using the smallest Tapcon Screw with the smallest head I began mounting the bracket. To be blatently honest I had to modify the bracket to accept the tap con. NO big deal it's plastic. The bracket has to be opened up enough to allow the camera to slide on the bracket and snap into place. There was a need to use my dremel and finely grind out the camera end and allow the bracket to slide up and click in place. The first one was tough but doing the second camera went easier since I knew the sticking points. This was a bit of a work around and no big deal. Now in place and connected they work beautifully. Better than expected. The movement is super and the siren is an added plus. Hope this helps our Concrete Block home owners. Don't be scared off it will be worth it.
