Description

How long is the battery life of Solocam S340? 3 Months*. *Based on 300s of recording time per day. Actual battery life depends on several factors such as the number of times motion is detected, event recording duration, and environmental temperatures. *Using solar charging allows forever power. Why doesn't my SoloCam S340 battery stay at 100%? Power collected by the solar panel depends on the weather and available sunlight. If little energy is collected in a day, the battery level may go down. It can run for up to 3 months on battery and it will be charged once the weather is sunny. Can SoloCam S340 be installed vertically on the ceiling? Yes. The camera can be installed vertically on the ceiling or horizontally on the wall with a separate solar panel (ideal for strong solar power), or horizontally on the wall with an attached solar panel (minimal drilling required). Does SoloCam S340 support 24x7 recording? No. Battery cameras aren't currently capable of 24/7 recording, even if connected to HomeBase 3(with firmware version V3.3.2.6 and above). Which HomeBase S380 features are SoloCam S340 compatible with? When connected to HomeBase S380, SoloCam S340 will be able to utilize the storage capacity of HomeBase S380 and the AI will be enhanced with BionicMind, enabling familiar faces, human recognition, vehicle detection, and pet detection. • Amazingly Clear - Easy Set Installation & Set Up - No Subscription Fees
Set name: Solo Cam
These are the 2nd set of eufy cameras we purchased! --- Super Affordable! --- BEST purchase ever! --- The sense of security we have is priceless. Fortunately, we rarely ever need to review our camera footage, but the feeling of knowing our homes are under continual surveillance gives us peace of mind and security! *Esp. when my spouse is away and/or has to go out-of-town and when our rental home is vacant, and nobody is there to monitor it. (Being able to monitor the yard service worker and any other person/people who come onto the property is very helpful. You can see exactly how much time they actually work and anything else.) -The 1st set is installed on our house. -This S340 set is on our rental house. Currently, our rental is vacant. - It is awesome that we can monitor all cameras at multiple locations on one screen. *When tenants are there, we let them set the app to their ID/Password, so only they can see & monitor them. We have never needed to subscribe or pay any additional money. Our videos last a long time! (I believe customers can subscribe if they have a ton of footage and/or want videos saved indefinitely, etc... Our videos stay on our app for a long time! You can select to 'save' any videos that you don't want to be overwritten. You also can manually erase any/all videos, but it is not necessary. At some point, I believe any unsaved videos will be automatically overwritten. I can't remember how much memory these have. I think you can add an SD card, not positive. I am a 65yr old woman; I had no problem installing the cameras or the app and set-up process. We opted to buy the solar panels. I strongly urge anyone else to buy them also. We have never had to charge our cameras since I installed them over a year ago. We have never experienced a single issue with the cameras or solar panels. * I ordered a gutter clip to see if it would fit on our gutters. Unfortunately, our gutters are not compatible. If your gutters are compatible, the gutter mount makes installation super easy! It will save you from having to screw the camera mount and/or solar panel to your house. The camera mount is easy to install; there are 3 small screws. A template is included. It is a no-brainer, and fairly simple. The solar panel swivels. It either screws easily onto the camera or you can separately screw it onto your house. *(it comes with a short power cord if you attach it directly to the camera; a longer cord is included if you need to mount it away from the camera for optimal sunlight. *We had Ring & Arlo cameras before. Charging was a pain! Neither brand came close to the ease & reliability of these. (Note: In fairness, the other brand cameras were older models and we did not have solar panels for either of them.) Pros: -Easy Installation -Easy App Set-Up - Easy to navigate -Super Clear Picture -No need for subscription -Never need to charge battery (if you purchase solar panel) -Able to set camera to film at certain times/days or to only film humans and/or vehicles so animals, bugs, branches, leaves, etc. don't constantly set them off. Say you only want it to film animals, you can select that also. -You can set the camera alarm for specific times/days and activate a loud alarm sound and/or flashing light to go off. *If you accidentally forgot to disarm the alarm, whenever it goes off, a warning appears on your device(s). You can easily tap your screen to disarm it vs. having to anxiously fumble to find the app on your device while it is blaring! Cons: - I honestly can't think of any con! *(FYI: I am not being paid or rewarded in any way for this review.) The only con is that we didn't purchase eufy brand cameras from the very start. And that we didn't spend the extra $ for solar panels! Solar panels make ALL the difference in the world! Having to go up/down a ladder to retrieve and charge cameras was a royal PAIN, not to mention... super inconvenient and dangerous! ------ I will update this message and add video footage soon so that people can see how clear the images are in daytime and nighttime on each camera at multiple locations. (I will include the model of eufy camera we have on our house so people can compare the images between the two models. I think our other cameras are 4k but these S340 cameras are just as good! ... show more

  • Love them! - But one small (?) annoying thing
Set name: Solo Cam
To start, we already had one eufy camera a neighbor gave us and then we purchased a two pack of these cameras and a HomeBase340 in a "package" deal. I didn't install anything for a few weeks, because usually the installations do not go nearly as "easy" as everyone proclaims, and I get frustrated and throw things and say bad words and I'm not proud of my behavior, so I procrastinated. But, I was very pleasantly surprised with the eufy setup and installations. It took me (old fart) about 2.5 total hours to complete the setup and installation of a HomeBase and 3 cameras. This time included setting up the HomeBase and the first camera in the software app, finding all the tools I needed for the camera installations (ladder, drill, bits, etc.), staring at the house with my hands on my hips to evaluate where to put each camera, installing the camera, installing the tiny solar panel, then securing the cable from the solar panel to the camera, then securing camera to house (see below for my complaint about this last step). Last 5 things were repeated 2 more times for additional 2 cameras. This time also includes one trip to the hardware store. The HomeBase and the cameras all go through the setup by scanning a barcode on the device. With the cameras, the software then creates a new barcode that you scan with the camera itself during setup. Just go slow and read each step and don't panic - it's pretty self explanatory and I did not utter one curse word. Now, for my only complaint. I have had other security cameras that, when they were installed, it was almost impossible to get them back off their mount. It was a security feature, making it hard for a thief to run off with your camera. The eufy cameras just click into the mount and click right back out with an easy squeeze of a button on either side of the mount. It was necessary in my installation to mount two of the cameras where a reasonably tall person (6 ft+) could reach up and just take the camera. Would I get them on the video saved to the HomeBase? Yes. Could they be identified by to the police? Unknown, as the thieves might be smart enough to wear some form of obfuscation on their face. So - I ran down to the big-box hardware store and bought a roll of HVAC strapping tape (metal strap with holes along the length), attached one end of the strap to the house with a hex-head bolt, wrapped the strap tightly around the top portion of the camera, then attached the other end of the strap to the house with another hex-head bolt. Figured the average camera thief would not come equipped with a ratchet to make off with the cameras, but I could be wrong. I do wish eufy would address this concern - maybe make a special removal tool necessary to get the camera off the mount, as it's not always possible to mount the cameras 10 feet above the ground. Hope this review has been somewhat helpful in your decision to purchase this product. I have only had the system installed for a couple of weeks, but I am very happy with the set-up process, the installation process, and the performance of the system so far. The sound quality is very good, the night vision is way above adequate, and with the additional storage in the HomeBase, and since I plan to "purge" old stuff after a couple of weeks, I expect to get years worth of storage without an issue. Here are the basic steps that were necessary for my installation (HomeBase3 + 3 cameras) - -Bought an SSD drive to get more storage space in the HomeBase (it comes with 16gb, but I'm eventually installing a total of 7 cameras) -Also bought a cable to connect the SSD drive to my computer for formatting -While waiting for the SSD to arrive (because I didn't think of buying that when I ordered the cameras), charge all the cameras - takes about 3-4 hours each for the initial charge (instructions say up to 8 hours) -Format SSD drive (requires a dongle to connect it to a computer) -Install SSD drive in HomeBase -Download the "original eufy security" app on your phone -Use the instructions to set up the HomeBase (it's necessary to initially connect to your router with a cable. After setup, you'll be able to switch over to WiFi connection in the HomeBase settings - little gear icon at top in software) -Find a "permanent" place for the HomeBase using the guidelines provided by eufy (Warning - at this point do not make it too inconvenient to get to - you'll need physical access to set up the cameras) -In app - use Add Device + to add the HomeBase (the eufy categories of devices narrow down your choices nicely) -In app - use Add Device + to add the first camera and fire up the camera (about 7 easy yes / no questions and one "check wiring" which requires the camera be connected to the solar panel) -NOW install the camera that you just set up on your house (you can set a "default" view, but the camera is a little slow to move the lens angle through the app, so be patient) -Install security strap on camera - NOT included with the camera (see below for explanation) -Pretty sure this covers all the major steps ... show more

  • Best camera system we have ever had
Set name: 2-Cam Kit
I have ring, Blink and now Eufy. This is by far me the best camera system I have purchased. It runs off solar panels, so there’s no need for hooking it directly to a wire source and no need for continuing to charge batteries. It did require us to charge the battery right away, but then from there runs off solar panels. The camera has way better clarity than our blink and our ring and since it follows the object that is moving, we have better security with the angles that we can pan the camera. No monthly fees runs off of internal storage, which is larger than expected. I will go back and delete all items that are not needed, but I have never ran into a storage issue. The video quality is fantastic. The motion detection is fantastic. They appearance are sleek. We did have a contractor set up the cameras only because we attached them to a rain gutter and to the soffit and facia on the house it seemed to go very quickly for them and the set up process was self-explanatory through the app. Attached photo of what we see in our app once installed to give you an idea of what to expect. We will be purchasing more of these. ... show more

  • Buyer Beware!
Set name: 4-Cam Kit
I want to preface this review with the following. I have purchased and installed 9 Eufy devices Doorbell cam, 4 exterior and 4 interior cams) over the past several months and have had nothing but issues with these products. The best way to put it is as follows....... If you like to..... 1) Constantly adjust and re-configure these cameras on almost a daily basis. 2) Get alerts for things that are just triggering alarms for no reason. 3) Play tech support for these products. 4) Deal with AI replies to emails that give you answers to questions you never asked. 5) Uninstall and re-install all of the cameras several times to try and get them synced properly. 6) ....and several other things that you will see in my most recent email reply to their AI agent posted below. ...If you want to perform those tasks on a regular basis that take hours and hours of time.... Then this is the Security System for you. Good Luck! Below is my most recent response to the issues that I continue to have on an ongoing basis. It has now been a little over a month since our last communication about this alarm system. I have been working and adjusting the settings on this system on a nearly daily basis and I have come to the conclusion that your system is ____ ____ ____! I have 8 cameras (4 outdoor and 4 indoor) and a doorbell camera installed. I will now go through all 9 cameras and describe how terrible they are at actually doing the job they are supposed to do and how great they are at doing what they are not supposed to do. Let's start with the outdoor cameras. 1) Front Patio and Right Side of House. - This camera seems to only want to pick up my wife and I. It does pick up our car entering the garage and the occasional delivery but it also picks up the swaying of our trees any day that the wind blows. I have adjusted the settings on this camera numerous times and this is the best I can get out of it. A nearly constant stream of alarms whenever the wind blows. 2) Left Side of House/Driveway - On the other hand, this camera seems to never pick up any motion other than the days we put out the garbage. Again, it loves picking up movement from my wife and I but never anyone walking up and down the sidewalk. 3) Doorbell Camera - This camera does seem to do a good job with people approaching our front door. It also picks up most deliveries. But, this camera loves to identify a stationary tall plant and a water feature as a person during the middle of the night on a regular basis. Say 1am to 3am. A great time to get alerts for no reason. The other thing this camera is great at....Picking up cars and trucks on our street from about 2 in the afternoon to 4 in the afternoon. Now, we get cars and trucks on that street all day and night.....but it only picks up movement from 2 to 4 pm. It may have something to do with the sun at that time of day. Never-the-less....it picks up random vehicles and it loves to pick up the garbage truck but it NEVER picks up the Amazon Delivery Truck that comes on a regular basis and stops right in front of the house....NEVER!!! Incredible!! 4) Backyard Camera #1 - Loves to trigger on wind movement of our pine trees. 5) Backyard Camera #2 - Here's a good one. We currently have some type of animal/rodent eating/destroying some plants in our backyard landscaping. I have been trying to get this camera to pick up that movement which takes place at night. It cannot....But what it can do.....Is pick up cars moving on a road about 500 feet away from the back of our house. It does this without the vehicle movement setting being engaged and with these cars being so small to detect, but it cannot pick up this animal in our backyard that is like 20 feet away from the camera. 6) Indoor Entry/Foyer Camera - This is a beauty. This camera triggers the alarm whenever I just turn on the "Away" setting. It actually sets itself off when the camera turns on to fully alarm the camera and the homebase. This camera is literally, facing the front door and sets off the "detects motion" alarm whenever it wants to. Again, mostly at night. Let me repeat....It faces a STATIONARY DOOR!!! Unbelievable!!! 7) Bedroom Camera - Pretty much the same thing. Sets itself off, when I turn on the "away" setting and triggers "motion" alarms "at will" in a stationary setting. 8) Family Room - Same thing as the other 2. Let's just say....Whenever I turn on the "Away" setting, the WHOLE HOUSE goes into alarm....and all 3 of these cameras detect motion when there isn't any. 9) Internal Garage Camera - I have saved the BEST for last. This camera loves to turn itself around and stare at the wall. I can re-calibrate and change the settings on this camera a couple of times EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! ....and when I check it...It's turned back around and facing the garage wall. It does pick up on "sound" in the garage and sets the alarm off, but I have NO IDEA what is causing the alarm because IT IS LOOKING AT THE WALL!!! Look.... I have had alarm systems in many houses over the years. But this thing, for all of the technical advances in motion sensors, tracking, sound, multiple settings, you name it.....for all of those advances in home security ....It is THE WORSE ALARM SYSTEM that I have ever had. It does EVERYTHING it's NOT supposed to do and NEVER does what it is actually supposed to do. It is supposed to be SILENT until it is needed to protect the house. Instead it is doing a GREAT JOB at ALARMING Stationary Objects and Detecting my wife and I more than anyone else. At this point, I have no idea what to do. I am at a loss. If you want to send someone out here and either try and fix this piece of crap or send someone to install this latest upgraded system...we can discuss that. But, I can tell you this....for the amount of time I have wasted trouble-shooting this system and for the level of frustration I have been enduring...If I could give it a ZERO STARS rating.... I would. I have no idea what your software engineers do there. It seems like they think of all kinds of things to add to this system but they can't get the basics right. I just want it to do the job it's supposed to do. So there you have it. A fully frustrated customer. I actually wonder how much time you all have spent building and selling such an incredibly ineffective Security System that seems to do everything that it is not supposed to do. That is some accomplishment. Hats off to you! Note...that Camera would probably not pick up me taking my hat off....but a stationary door....FULL ALARM! ... show more

  • Great Video with Pan/Tilt and Zoom.
Set name: Solo Cam
I purchased this camera to add to my Eufy Camera system and Homebase hub. I wanted a camera to go outside that could pan and tilt as we have a problem with vehicles parking on our street at night for short periods and then leaving, suggesting they might be up to no good. With this camera, I can make a record of any suspicious vehicles and or activity. The quality of the camera is very good. The daytime picture is very clear and I was surprised by how good the night-time picture was too. It pans and tits fast if you adjust the speed through the app. It also zooms, but only to 3x according to the app. The battery is charged via a small solar panel after you fully charge it through a USB cord before first use. It connected very easily to the app and hub without any issues. So far, I have not had any connection issues and the battery seems to be doing fine. I deducted one star due to the camera mount. It is plastic and seems a bit flimsy. The plastic piece that slides into the camera is not very tight, so there is some slight movement to the camera in the mount, which made the camera angle down just slightly. There is no way to secure the camera on the mount, so it is definitely NOT theft resistant. I mounted it to a wood 4x4 post so it is secure in that manner and there is no camera bounce when using the pan/tilt. Since I am using the Homebase hub, video storage is not an issue. Overall, I would recommend the camera based on the high video quality for the camera price, along with the pan/tilt. Most pan/tilt cameras with this good of video quality cost much more. I just wish they made the camera mount better with a tighter fit and some type of theft resistance. ... show more

  • Great picture, quality, and very good app to monitor
Set name: Solo Cam
I have multiple security cameras from different manufacturers. This camera is excellent. The picture quality is very good. The sound quality is fine and the set up is fairly straightforward. I had a slight issue on set up where I had to put both my phone and my router on 2.4 G network once I did that everything was set up perfectly. The PTZ is very responsive and the app is intuitive and very functional. The AI tracking of a person’s movement is spot on. I’m very pleased with this product and I will certainly order additional ones. ... show more

  • Great so far, easy to set up
Set name: Solo Cam
EDIT: (in reference to original concern below) in adjusting the ‘garage’ camera outward and at a less steep angle toward the driveway, I have had a large improvement in capture of people and vehicles. Frankly, I’m in the process of testing a lower sensitivity. Even at ‘4’ it was capturing vehicles easily along with anyone walking on our side of the street. Again, it’s only been a week, but the system is performing about as well as I could expect. I have learned that I probably need one more camera, but that isn’t the fault of the three I have now. I start with the fact that I have only had these installed for about a week. So clearly there is room for a problem. So far, this system has proven easy to set up and easy to use IMO. I purchased three of the Eufy S340 Solocams to accompany the Homebase S380. I was able to use the app (download it to your device first) and the enclosed instructions to perform the setup without any real issue. The cameras have excellent image quality both in terms of actual recording and in the streaming content (It is my understanding that the system takes into account your wifi speed capability). I have gigabit fiber, and so far I have been able to take advantage of the 3K feature. The features of the camera are nice. I am able to pan/tilt with little lag time. The app lets you quick touch a spot and it zooms to that area...or, you can slow touch and it will pan the camera to that location. You can activate the light, mic, record function from the app with a touch of the icon all while you watch whatever is going on in the liveplay screen. In my experience so far this has been straightforward and easy to do. The app can be used to have the cameras automatically switch from color to b/w night mode depending upon light availability. It does so quickly even on the fly when you pan it manually. The night vision image quality is very good and almost as crisp as the daytime mode. The solar panels appear to be working just fine. The app has a hiccup with the solar charge display though. There are two graphs the solar panel with one showing a day to day total by percentage of charge and the other showing (supposed to show anyway) a total of power input from the panel. The panel DOES WORK and the batteries are getting charge; however, the total input display is dodgy at the moment. This does not bother me so long as the batteries are charging. It does indicate that it is in 'beta' test phase so perhaps future firmware updates will resolve this. Again, hardly a big deal, as the day to day charge level gives you a good idea of how much you gained back. Wireless capability and no subscription fees were a big deal to me. I had concerns about the viability of running wires without having problems or just making an unsightly display. I also didn't want to get roped into paying a monthly fee, even a small one, for as little footage as I am likely to keep. This is for the house, not a business. We are on a street with modest foot and vehicle traffic so I do not anticipate an overload of useless captures...and I do not have one of my three cameras set to detect vehicles all the time. . Time will tell if the 'garage' zone camera will notify about other vehicles as I have set it. I am still figuring out the best angles for the default position(s) on this one. The cameras talk to the Homebase and the Homebase talks to my iphone via the interwebs and the Eufy app. The notifications have been prompt so far as I can tell to this point. ISSUES: the only 'issues' I have had are the following: 1) one camera, over the garage on the bottom corner of the gable end, tends to lag in recognition of people. They will suddenly appear in front of it before the camera then performs more as expected. I believe this may have to do with my angle set up and the location of the PIR on the camera. I pointed it less steeply (i.e. more directly at the area where people are likely to walk) and will see if this mitigates that issue. 2) the microphone picks up people talking well, however the speaker for talking to them is a little tinny sounding and can be hard to understand. Speaking clearly and not too close to your phone seem to help, but remembering to do this may be hit or miss. Also, it does not seem to let you hear them answering as you're speaking. It has to be a talk/wait/talk/wait if you're going to understand them. So far, I am very pleased with the ease of setup and ease of subsequent use. I am reasonably tech savvy but no savant. If I can get this up and going without issue, I would say most folks can. Additionally, there are many helpful FAQ's on the Eufy security website as well as on YouTube. If any issues arise that effect my satisfaction that are reasonably attached to the equipment or software itself, I will revise. ... show more
