About .not Obie 2 port hookup to run door function on a 2005 F-250 ,they said the 2005 didn't come with port ,but it does do too their surprise they didn't make this cord for this model.Ihad to hard wire all four doors for the board roll out function which was no problem, still love product well worth it. I'd been looking at these for a long time, but the price kept me from buying them. After nearly seven years, my OEM running boards finally started looking their age and it was time to do something, so I bit the bullet and ordered a set of AMP Research Power Steps. They arrived quickly and I did the install myself. It took me longer than the estimated three hours, but I finally got them on and working. The most difficult part was running the wiring harness and finding the right wire on the front-drivers side. They are very nice in both workmanship and appearance and function flawlessly. The bottom of my doors is 30 inches from the ground and the steps are 21 inches -- a 9 inch drop. If you've been thinking about a set of these, don't wait as long as I did, buy them! These running boards are great. I really don't like the look of running boards on trucks. What makes these running boards so good is when not in use, they are tucked up out of the way, and the stock look of the truck is restored. I like it!

    • Great addition to lifted trucks
I purchased these steps for a 2006 F250 I had just purchased. Install was straight forward and the instructions were good. It is my understanding that some of the newer models plug in to the obd2 port and don’t require as much wiring which would be nice. If you are not comfortable with wiring this may be a bit more challenging but if you are comfortable doing your own wiring this is not a hard job at all. On my truck it involved pulling the plastic trim off the interior kick panels and door sills. There were a couple wires that matched the description in the instructions so you have to determine which one is the correct wire. Once wired up correctly these steps are awesome. For me they are worth the money to not have the bulky nerf steps on the truck but not loose the convenience of having a step. I have had them on there for a little less than 6 months and have never had it not function properly. Highly recommend these steps! ... show more

Purchased at the end of December, had them installed (by a professional mechanic who has installed many of these steps) middle of January and they worked great until 2 days ago when the sensor for the front passenger door will no longer work and will not lower the step. My friend fell out of my lifted excursion right onto his hand that he just had surgery on, because the step didn't come down! I spoke to another guy who said his motor quit working after 6mo! ... show more

The steps work great ! Came really quickly. Only problem the kit was packed with the wrong controller, so the steps didn't work corectly. Called AMP customer service, they were excellent. The new controller arrived quickly, now the steps work perfectly.

Arrived with damaged box as expected. I saved some money by taking a chance on item that was listed as damaged package. Thankfully, all items were included and nothing in the boxes was actually damaged nor appeared to have been used at all…checked YouTube videos and Considered installing them myself but didn’t really have the proper space to work on truck. The AMP Power Steps cost me $385 to get installed which I thought was high but ended up being totally worth getting them installed and not have to struggle with it by myself.
