The step side rolls up into the perfect spot to keep the height of your truck and is very sturdy. It also operates fast with the magnetic attachments on each door. The only downfall to the design is the way the lights are secured it’s difficult to tuck the wires in with what was supplied and the illumination factor isn’t that helpful and doesn’t add to the appearance at all. I am very pleased with this purchase and would do it again I wasn’t expecting to have to take so much of my door trim off just to ground the magnetic door actuator but it looks very clean and it seems to be completely necessary. The only other way would have to be splicing or plugging into the computer instead of installing the magnets. Fantastic product and easy to install. These steps drop down low enough to actually be useful. Very good looking on my truck too.The only issue I had was not product related. It was shipping related. I recieved one of the two boxes. However Amazon very quickly made it right!

The media could not be loaded. I was just looking for low profile rails when I saw the price of these. I hope they last cause they are a 5 star new. I wouldn't call the install easy, they have a good system, plug and play, and everything laid out really well, and it was well organized, but I mod my jeep a lot and these boards would rank towards the hard category. There are a few tools you need, fishing rod, plastic pry bars, and i appreciated my cheapy electric ratchet here. Torque specs were not in manual. I wrote Rough County and they said 14 ft/lb on rail mounts and 45 ft/lb on motor mounts. Fine tuning is a must for even reveals and i have to say i hated the shim they use. I get the idea, they want you to be able to slip it in without removing the bolt since the fine tuning is done after rails are one, but I finally gave up and used a strong metal tape to turn them back into washers and removed the bolt to get them in. (yes i tried the method from the video of taping it to a zip tie, no luck there either). fyi for you solo installers, at least on my 24 silverado z71, the box the motors come in are the perfect height to hold the rails while i attached them, Also, for whatever reason, my shim placement wasn't universal, it could have been overall frame tolerances, but left to right, front to back i used shims differently to get to the correct reveal. 5-star to Rough County for being responsive to my questions. Also, 5-star for the packaging, very secure, packages had small tears from shipper, but materials were well protected. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I purchased these for my 2024 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 Trail Boss to assist my wife in getting into and out of the truck. The installation of the boards and motors were quick and easy. The wiring not so much. What a PITA!!! Took me four times longer then I thought it would to wire it up. Most of that was getting the interior panels off without breaking them. But, after I got it all installed it works great. The only issue I ran into was the wire for the drivers side door switch was to short, so I had to splice in a piece of wire. There is about a 3 second delay on the boards closing which is great if your going from the front door to the back door or vice versa. As of this time, I love these running boards. Only time will tell how they will stand up to the elements, the quality of the design and the durability of the motors and hinges. I would definitely buy them again. If things change I will update. EDIT UPDATE: 08-16-2024. I got under the truck to put on a new VSE dual fuel filter and noticed that the motors on the drivers side looked wet at the pivot screw. I noticed that there was a drop of oil forming on the bottom of the front drivers side joint. The rear drivers side was wet and there was a drop of oil starting to form. I checked the passenger side and noticed that the front motor looked a little wet and the rear motor was dry(?). I check all of the bolts/screws to make sure they're tight and they were. So I took a bunch of photographs of the motors. I looked online and could not find anyone that was describing the same issue as I am having which makes me think that I just got a lemon(?). I called Rough Country and asked them if there was oil in the motors and they confirmed there was to keep the gearing lubed. I advised them of the oil forming on the outside of the motors. They asked for me to send an email with photographs of the motors. Since I already had take photographs I sent a email to them in about 15 minutes. They responded quickly and said that they were sending me new motors. Four days later I had a whole new motor kit. Basically I received a new system without the boards. They did not ask for the old motors back. Once I change out the motors I will look the old motors over, to see if I can find a cause for the leak. Maybe a bad seal, gasket or O-ring, needs to be replaced. I'm very happy with Rough Country customer service and their response!!! I still love these and so does my wife. I would still buy them again...good customer service is hard to find. Rough Country came through big time! Photographs #3 and #4 are of the drivers side motors. ... show more

Rough Country store ad states that this fits 2025 Silverado 2500HD, confirms fit as well. Purchased and installed only to find the right rear bracket hits the frame in the closed position and will rattle when driving down the road. Sent email to RC customer service, no response. I messaged RC customer service on their website. Was told no record of the email request. I was then informed that this model has not been released for the 2025 Silverado 2500HD, and it was suggested to send back to Amazon. Spent probably 6+ hours doing install, and had already taken boxes to recycling. See pics. Also, dont buy the "reduced price" or "open box" option. Amazon only sent the steps. Non once, but twice. The motorized brackets, wiring harness and hardware was not included. Called to see if they could find/send the missing items, but was told they could only offer to send it back for a full refund.
