I had taken off the stock running boards on both sides and noticed the DEF tank thinking that’s pretty close to the edge. Sure enough got the driver side installed and moved to the passenger side and realized there was no way the bracket was going to fit because of the DEF Tank. Had to take everything back off stick it back in the box. Tape it up and haul it back to UPS. Could’ve saved a big headache if they would’ve mentioned this in the description they don’t fit all 3500 GMC/Chevy diesel trucks. After doing more research now know there is another bracket or different kit that is more money. ... show more

I have been using these for about a month now. I absolutely love them. They function as advertised, the width is perfect at ~5" and the non-skid coating is similar to spray in bed liner. The LED's are nice at night. When not in use they tuck nicely out of sight, which is the main reason I opted for these over visible running boards for 1/3 the price. The installation instructions were very detailed and I believe I would have been able to install them, however the wiring portion was a bit more than I cared to attempt since I'm not a professional mechanic, and I didn't want to go popping door panels off a brand new $50,000 truck. I was able to get the dealer to install them but I would recommend having them professionally installed if you aren't 100% confident. It does involve drilling through the floorboard and popping each door panel off. ... show more

This is the second truck that I have installed AMP boards. I love them! Installation was fairly easy for the boards. the wiring was a bit more challenging for the door sensors. (2014 GMC 2500HD). the instructions I received were for the GMC 1500 so the wiring did not match. However, a two minute call with AMP manufacturer solved the problem. It was the most impressive call with a technical support person I have ever had. Courteous, knowledgeable and talked to me in language I could understand. The time estimate for installation is spot on. Don't think because you are a good mechanic you can beat the time if you plan on it being a professional installation. Other then the wiring switch, the instructions are well written and easy to follow. I would recommend AMP boards to anyone who likes the clean look with which the the truck comes from the factory. ... show more

4 stars for sturdiness because the boards do seem to flex the trucks sheet metal quite a bit when stepped on. It seems like they could have a better mounting bracket with more surface area to remedy this. Overall a worthwhile investment and if you live in northern climates the extreme version is a must due to ice/snow and cold temps. ... show more

The Amp steps don’t have correct harness for you to be able to actually use the steps. Took months to get another set, still with incorrect piece. Not able to return at that point. I’d give it a zero star if you could. Very disappointed
