Size: Star Armor
First, know going in these are NOT rock sliders. They bolt to the body, not the frame. They are however, extremely well made and heavy duty side step/nerf bars that could probably take a pretty good smack before causing damage to your vehicle. They provide an excellent step for roof access, or for people to get into and out of your truck. Also they appear due to their profile and height to provide excellent door ding protection from morons. If your use case puts your truck on trails where you'll risk hitting rocks with your rocker panels, get sliders, period. If your use case is looking for a heavy duty step, door ding protection, protecting your vehicle from rocks & debris thrown up from your tires, and want a slider look, then look no further as I doubt you'll find a better product. I'm off road on forest service and blm dirt and gravel roads all the time. I don't rock crawl or extreme 4x4 in my daily driver. These fit my use case. Packaging was incredibly careful. Heavy cardboard box, bubble wrap, styrofoam blocks, end cap protection and mounting bracket protection. Hardware was in its own box and bags. Instructions were clear. These bolted right up to my 2023 Tacoma TRD OR with zero fitment issues. Pro tip, the box is the perfect height to use as a jack stand to hold each bar in place easily to get the first bolt loosely started. Start with the middle outboard bolt. Continue with the other 5 so they are all loosely started. Once on the truck push the bars inboard all the way and check alignment. Snug middle outboard bolt to lock in place. Finish snugging the remaining bolts. Torque to included spec with torque wrench. I also used blue locktight on the threads. Total time from starting unpackaging to taking photo was less than an hour, totally taking my time. Would buy again. My ONLY gripe is the name and stars cutout on the step fill plates. I think it looks cheap and stupid. Going to cover those areas with 4" wide skateboard tape from Lowe's. They really aren't that noticeable when mounted on the truck, but I'm covering them anyways. ... show more

I'm impressed with the build and finish of this product. They look great on my truck and seem to be very well made. Here are a couple things to help your decision making easier: 1. If you're buying this to help with access to the truck because you're short, they really don't sit much lower than the door sills. If anything, they'd be helpful to stand on if you are trying to access cargo on the roof. They don't sit low like running boards typically would. 2. Since these sit higher than typical running boards, they do not compromise overall ground clearance. The frame of the truck actually sits slightly lower than these bars. 3. Installation was very easy. Toyota already has all the mounting holes prepped on the truck so all you have to do is remove the plugs and use a 13mm ratchet to install. Everything lined up perfectly and I was able to install each one in less than 15 minutes by myself. All hardware was included. Note** The first time I ordered these, they came damaged. The packing protection was not done well and they rubbed on each other during shipping, removing some of the finish. I contacted the company who stated I needed to return them through Amazon since they were sold by Amazon. I processed an exachange order and Amazon shipped me a new pair shortly thereafter. I shipped them back my originals with their prepaid label and everything is fine now. The only pain in the process was repackaging the old ones for shipping and dropping them off at UPS. ... show more

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Beefy and solid. My 1st set of rails/boards/steps where a total mistake. Paint chipped away and they went downhill from there so I wasn't making same mistake this time. Yea I paid more but if I bought these in the 1st place I probably wouldn't have had to buy a new set after 2yrs. Plus they match my bed bars. Very happy with both.
