I will start with the negative. it took a little longer than I thought it would and while putting them on I got two thorns in my back. That's it these are great!!! When the package got to my house I could see why it was two days late. This box was huge! I don't see how I got free shipping and I could envision every person who had to deal with this package cursing me for ordering it. The box was banged up pretty good and it had a couple of holes in it but when I opened the box I was not worried about damage. The bars were protected almost overkill. They had foam braces at the ends and were wrapped in some heavy duty bubble wrap and then thin foam sheets. The parts that could punch through like the mounting plates were covered with 1/4inch rubber tubing cut down the sides. It took about ten minutes just to get them out. I left them on the patio for the night and took in the instructions and the box of hardware for study. Everything was there and the instructions were good but not needed as these are very simple to put on. Each bar has three mounting points with two holes in each for the bolts. They line up with the factory holes on the floorpan of the truck. I would assume they are there for factory running boards to be installed at time of manufacture. My truck had plastic plugs in the holes that just have to be screwed out, real easy. I don't have friends that is until they need something so I was doing it on my own. Hahahahaha I didn't want to use jack stands or jacks either. I placed the bar on the ground where I wanted it and then got underneath the bar at one end. I pushed the bar up and put a bolt loosely in. I slid down to the other side with the bar on my chest (this is when I got the thorns hahahaha) I put another bolt in then the middle then put the final three in and tightened them up. I repeated the other side (minus the thorns). This took less time than getting out the tools and turning on the radio to the classic rock station. So I changed the oil and filter as well! The bars are mounted well and secure to the truck I am 6 foot and weigh 240 and I can get on them and jump up and down and they are very secure so I am happy there. My truck has a 3 inch lift and taller tires on it. as I am taller it don't matter but my wife is 5 foot three and a half( when we met she said the half is important that's why I add it)!!!! She loves them they help her get into the truck a lot easier so another score. My 21 year old son who is critical of everything loves them, he even brought over another young friend who loved them as well so another score. Actually no one has said anything bad about them. I even had a friend at work who told me he thought my truck was the toughest one in the parking lot and that by adding them I set the bar even higher!!! In conclusion sorry so long I love these and very happy with them. They came to me flawless and were easy to put in without any fitting issues. Should you be on the fence I say get them, you wont regret it! Should something unthinkable happen to my truck I would get another Tacoma and would buy these again for it. My truck by the way is a 2008 Tacoma four wheel drive, her name is Snow.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I bought these a few years ago for my 2020 TRD specifically for the additional side impact protection, and I am beyond grateful I did. A driver crossed the centerline at a high rate of speed and came right at me with my fiancée and son in the truck. At the angle it was coming, that vehicle would have come straight through the rear door had it not been for these nerf bars. Instead, it glanced off the bar and hit the rear tire instead. Yes it resulted in my truck being a total loss, but it stopped a van from being in the backseat with my son. I recommend and stand by these nerf bars 100%. They also never rusted or corroded and stayed looking great for the nearly 5 years I had them. Buy these ones!

First, know going in these are NOT rock sliders. They bolt to the body, not the frame. They are however, extremely well made and heavy duty side step/nerf bars that could probably take a pretty good smack before causing damage to your vehicle. They provide an excellent step for roof access, or for people to get into and out of your truck. Also they appear due to their profile and height to provide excellent door ding protection from morons. If your use case puts your truck on trails where you'll risk hitting rocks with your rocker panels, get sliders, period. If your use case is looking for a heavy duty step, door ding protection, protecting your vehicle from rocks & debris thrown up from your tires, and want a slider look, then look no further as I doubt you'll find a better product. I'm off road on forest service and blm dirt and gravel roads all the time. I don't rock crawl or extreme 4x4 in my daily driver. These fit my use case. Packaging was incredibly careful. Heavy cardboard box, bubble wrap, styrofoam blocks, end cap protection and mounting bracket protection. Hardware was in its own box and bags. Instructions were clear. These bolted right up to my 2023 Tacoma TRD OR with zero fitment issues. Pro tip, the box is the perfect height to use as a jack stand to hold each bar in place easily to get the first bolt loosely started. Start with the middle outboard bolt. Continue with the other 5 so they are all loosely started. Once on the truck push the bars inboard all the way and check alignment. Snug middle outboard bolt to lock in place. Finish snugging the remaining bolts. Torque to included spec with torque wrench. I also used blue locktight on the threads. Total time from starting unpackaging to taking photo was less than an hour, totally taking my time. Would buy again. My ONLY gripe is the name and stars cutout on the step fill plates. I think it looks cheap and stupid. Going to cover those areas with 4" wide skateboard tape from Lowe's. They really aren't that noticeable when mounted on the truck, but I'm covering them anyways.
