  • Perfect, easy & endless hot water
Style: ExploreFlow Ultra
Hello. First time Rv owner going full time living for a few years. I know little about RVs and tankless h2o heaters. I did hours and hours of research and pulled the trigger on the Ranein Nova + 3rd gen. It arrived when expected, excellent packing & communication from the seller. 1996 travel supreme 5th wheel with an old suburban 6gal h20 tank heater that was leaking. I paid for the install as I was busy with other details. The old access was to large for the Ranien so a simple 2x4 frame was added in order for the new system to be mounted securely and then the old door from the last heater worked fine and mounted up to the new frame made. Very easy install for a mobile rv tech and he hollered when he turned the tap on to see how long it took to get warm, He was shocked, stunned and was thoroughly impressed. I added the Wasserman water pump with accumulator tank recommended and a nice adjustable pressure regulator for the incoming water. Got it all dialed in and took a 40 minute shower, same temp the entire time and no changes in pressure or volume. Its functioned perfectly for the past 9 days. A nice surprise was that it came with the outdoor fittings installed and the outdoor shower kit as well, which was not assured from the Amazon listing and some reviews made no mention of it at all. But mine came as pictured from Ranein. The unit is small, compact, ready with hot water immediately and will provide the same temp water for as long as you want or have water. I cant wait to put a makeshift tub outside and fill it with hot water on a cold clear night and watch the night sky. Seems as if it doesnt use much propane at all. Time will tell and the whole thing is so flawless that I havent once had to read the manual and figure out the control panel and all its functions yet. Allowing me to focus on more immediate needs. Personally, I dont believe I will ever own a hot water heater system with a tank again, home or RV. It is just endless exact hot water, no rush, no water getting cold and for just myself...it is bliss. 5 stars ... show more

  • Exceeded expectations
Style: ExploreFlow Altitude+white
I took a seasonal job for the park service and had full Hooke ups at a campground at 6,800 feet elevation for the summer. Ground water around 45 degrees. I opted for this model as it was about 10k BTU more than the rest in the price range. I’m a professional hvac/r technician and appreciate the simplicity of the design. The unit fit perfectly in the place of the existing hot water tank, wiring was simple and the interface very easy to set and understand the readings. I set it to 120 at first but was way too hot for showers. So I lowered it to 106 which was just right for 100% hot water shower. Takes about 20-40 seconds to reach steady temp. Half hour shower was no trouble at all. Elevation and cold input water temp also no trouble at all. No cons k can speak to, works perfectly and worth every penny to have unlimited hot water on demand vs 3 minute scramble showers with the old baby hit water tank. ... show more

  • Fast, Reliable Hot Water—Perfect for My RV Setup!
Style: ExploreFlow Pro
The media could not be loaded. I recently installed the Ranein Tankless Water Heater in my vintage Boler trailer, and I couldn’t be more impressed. Hot water comes on almost instantly, and the temperature stays super consistent, even during longer showers or dishwashing. It works flawlessly with my RV water pump—the water pressure is smooth and steady with no sputtering or flow interruptions. I also tested it with different flow rates, and this unit keeps up effortlessly. No need to fiddle with knobs or adjust every time—I just turn on the faucet and get perfect hot water every time. You can check the water flow performance in the video I uploaded. If you're looking for a compact, responsive, and reliable tankless heater for your RV or off-grid setup, I highly recommend this one. It’s powerful, efficient, and a breeze to install. ... show more

  • Worth reading!
My old suburban 12 gallon tank was leaking from the combustion chamber. So I researched as best I could over a week and settled on the Rainen on demand hot water heater. It’s now been installed for about two months of continuous use. It’s doing great. I spent November and December in Ohio where it got down into the teens for several nights. I do use a heated hose in those cold temps but it still had no trouble making 124 degrees. Even at near freezing with the hose heater off. It showed 35 degree inlet and 124 outlet. I was careful to order the 18x18 door combo which saved me $79 and had to frame the opening down to fit tank itself. It very easy, I just placed a 2x4 on edge along the top and left sides. I used Kreg pocket holes to hold them in place. Installed heater, and it fits perfectly, and then installed the door kit. Made all of the connections inside and had hot water in 30 seconds. I absolutely love it but I do have a few “complaints”. I would like a handing option on the door so that it can be made to open toward the front of the trailer. The T&P valve leaks above 60 psi and I had read this before buying it. With a regulator inline it doesn’t leak but it also can’t make enough volume to run two devices. Without the regulator it does fine. I need to find a high volume regulator. The ramp up for hot water is longer than a conventional tank. I knew this going in but when I dry camp it will be an issue for water loss. I think I will rectify this with a reclamation system. So the pros far outweigh the cons and it was half the money of the suburban unit I had that only lasted 5 years. ... show more
