Perfect, easy & endless hot water
Color: Silver Set name: RA65ZH
Hello. First time Rv owner going full time living for a few years. I know little about RVs and tankless h2o heaters. I did hours and hours of research and pulled the trigger on the Ranein Nova + 3rd gen. It arrived when expected, excellent packing & communication from the seller. 1996 travel supreme 5th wheel with an old suburban 6gal h20 tank heater that was leaking. I paid for the install as I was busy with other details. The old access was to large for the Ranien so a simple 2x4 frame was added in order for the new system to be mounted securely and then the old door from the last heater worked fine and mounted up to the new frame made. Very easy install for a mobile rv tech and he hollered when he turned the tap on to see how long it took to get warm, He was shocked, stunned and was thoroughly impressed. I added the Wasserman water pump with accumulator tank recommended and a nice adjustable pressure regulator for the incoming water. Got it all dialed in and took a 40 minute shower, same temp the entire time and no changes in pressure or volume. Its functioned perfectly for the past 9 days. A nice surprise was that it came with the outdoor fittings installed and the outdoor shower kit as well, which was not assured from the Amazon listing and some reviews made no mention of it at all. But mine came as pictured from Ranein. The unit is small, compact, ready with hot water immediately and will provide the same temp water for as long as you want or have water. I cant wait to put a makeshift tub outside and fill it with hot water on a cold clear night and watch the night sky. Seems as if it doesnt use much propane at all. Time will tell and the whole thing is so flawless that I havent once had to read the manual and figure out the control panel and all its functions yet. Allowing me to focus on more immediate needs. Personally, I dont believe I will ever own a hot water heater system with a tank again, home or RV. It is just endless exact hot water, no rush, no water getting cold and for just myself...it is bliss. 5 stars ... show more

Works great, super efficient, and instant hot water for extended periods of time!
Color: Silver Set name: RA65LH
So I purchased this almost a month ago. My wife and I are full-time living in our toyhauler. Our old Suburban water heater failed suddenly and we had no hot water. I then undertook the task of finding, researching, and installing a water heater all on my own, which it’s something I have never done before. I learned a lot doing this, and most of the issues I encountered were because of me, not Ranein. So I had to completely remove all of my old pipes due to the layout being different from my old water heater. It was not plug and play. So after I took all the old pipes out, I actually decided to reuse them, and I cut them all to size, reused the elbows and fittings I already had. I installed a water shutoff valve that I purchased since my old setup didn’t have one, and I recommend everyone else do so if they don’t have one. It will save your ass! I did have to cut my propane line shorter, and I bought a flexible line that I decided would be much better than the old copper hardline that used to go to the old one. I had to cut it, put on a new flange, and then install the flex-pipe and seal the threads, but it all worked out and with zero leaks. Once I finished plumbing the new unit, it just takes 12V from the trailer supply, and you wire the controller up to the actual heater. It worked immediately, although i encountered a small issue where the Pressure Relief Valve kept leaking water, and once I discovered it was because we were supplying our toyhauler with more than 100psi of water, I bought an adjustable regulator, set it to 80psi, and the problem went away. All in all, its a great water heater, it’s nice and small, and is very quiet while operating. It’s very easy to service as well because of the door. I had to buy the 18x18 door, but it’s great! I will update in a couple months to let you all know how it’s holding up! ... show more

Worth reading!
Color: Silver Set name: RA65EH
My old suburban 12 gallon tank was leaking from the combustion chamber. So I researched as best I could over a week and settled on the Rainen on demand hot water heater. It’s now been installed for about two months of continuous use. It’s doing great. I spent November and December in Ohio where it got down into the teens for several nights. I do use a heated hose in those cold temps but it still had no trouble making 124 degrees. Even at near freezing with the hose heater off. It showed 35 degree inlet and 124 outlet. I was careful to order the 18x18 door combo which saved me $79 and had to frame the opening down to fit tank itself. It very easy, I just placed a 2x4 on edge along the top and left sides. I used Kreg pocket holes to hold them in place. Installed heater, and it fits perfectly, and then installed the door kit. Made all of the connections inside and had hot water in 30 seconds. I absolutely love it but I do have a few “complaints”. I would like a handing option on the door so that it can be made to open toward the front of the trailer. The T&P valve leaks above 60 psi and I had read this before buying it. With a regulator inline it doesn’t leak but it also can’t make enough volume to run two devices. Without the regulator it does fine. I need to find a high volume regulator. The ramp up for hot water is longer than a conventional tank. I knew this going in but when I dry camp it will be an issue for water loss. I think I will rectify this with a reclamation system. So the pros far outweigh the cons and it was half the money of the suburban unit I had that only lasted 5 years. ... show more

BEST Upgrade/ This is a Must Have
In our Motorhome we have a Tub/shower combo. When we bought the motorhome the tub was a great idea for the kids, but the motorhome came with a 6 gallon water heater and was NEVER big enough and showers left a lot to be desired (start/stop) and recovery time was slow. I installed and set up this Ranein tankless water heater and the kids LOVE their baths, and Mommy & Daddy love the showers. No question this is the best upgrade ever!!! ** I disconnected and removed the existing water heater then installed the new Ranein tankless water heater, it fit PERFECT in the opening, I connected the propane, I added about 5" of pipe and fittings to the cold water supply and out from the supply out to the distribution manifold, I then hooked up the 12v power and routed the wire from the included Temperature controller that I installed in the bathroom, I routed the wire from the temp controller wire down to the water heater and hooked it up. I checked all my water connections and wire connections and turned the water pump on and bled all the H & C water lines THEN powered up the water heater. It was simple!!! I turned on the HOT water alone in the bathroom (this called for water through the water heater) I heard the water heater start up, I turned the temperature controller up to the MAXIMUM temperature we wanted delivered out of the faucets so NOBODY would get burnt 🔥 just by turning only hot water on in the bath, shower, kitchen sink or the outside shower 👏🏼👏🏼 . UNDERSTANDABLY the water is not hot coming from the water heater AT FIRST, until the water heater senses the call for hot water and starts heating the water and it travels through the water line to the fixture, SAME way it was with a tanked WH, except as long as you have Power to the water pump, Water and Propane you ALWAYS have hot water 😁🥰. **** I think the problem several people run into is they set the delivery temperature 🌡️ mixed with cold water so the tankless water heater starts and stops making your bath or shower very uncomfortable. Set the delivery HOT WATER temp to the MAXIMUM you want coming out THEN mix the cold water in. In the picture you can see the color of the outside door (the door comes white and I haven't had it painted to match the motorhome yet). My Girls and my wife ask "why wouldn't they have this water heater installed in the motorhome from the factory ?" We have used this water heater and have had NO problems or any problem with temperature since it was new 👍🏼 ... show more

Amazing unit! Super easy to install yourself.
Color: Silver Set name: RA65EH
*24 hour review* Packaging sufficed, came in manufacturers box. FYI: The door must be purchased separately! Installation was a breeze. I decided to cut my pex and crimp on 1/2 inch NTP to the ends, so I could use stainless braided hoses, similar to the ones you'd see on a washing machine. My LP line was copper, instead of trying to bend it and risk kinking it, I decided to get a 3/8 flare coupler and use a 24 inch flexible hose. I was able to connect everything before installing it, this made things a lot easier. Some buytl tape and a few screws and I was in business. Once that was done. I wired up the 12v switch and controller, then sealed the door with sealant once I confirmed there were no leaks. Just an FYI you can't put the door on until the your sealant has dried, the door will hit the sealant. The heater heats quite well, I have hot water (106° F) in 5-7 seconds. This is a game changer for me. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone! As someone pointed out in a previous review about the tube sometimes leaking in the tank. I 3d printed a grommet and 90 degree elbow to run it outside the door, as seen in the picture. ... show more

Absolutely great heater
We absolutely love this thing. When our tanked heater went out, I struggled with which way to go tanked or tankless. Cost was about the same, maybe a little more for the original tanked that came with the rv (10gal. dometic). The cost on this is great for what it is, no denying that. The efficiency and functionality of this thing is well above my expectations. People were saying it loves to sip of that gas, but I experienced the opposite. This things actually uses less propane than the old tanked heater, maybe even half as much. Its unbelievable how efficient it is. That was one concern and the other was when boondocks, the wasted water before you get hot water. Actually is about the same as the tanked heater. Only way to get instant hoy water is a recirculating pump or valve. After weighing in all the pros and cons, the major and biggest factor to decide on this tankless, was the fact that it's only on when needed. The other tanked heater would be on all the time and was a big fire & carbon monoxide poisoning risk. I don't know if others have had that problem but it was definitely scary waking up in the middle of the night because our carbon monoxide alarm going off. This unit eliminated any of that risk or fire when we are asleep or away from the rv. Major pro for me. have had it for a few months now and doin great. Absolutely love the endless and no waiting to heat showers. Highly recommend this unit even if it's more than other similar ones. WORKS GREAT AND NO PROBLEMS so far. ... show more

Had hot water after a couple minutes. Great water heater!
Color: Silver Set name: RA65LH
Ordered this to replace (i believe original 6 gallon). With some plumbing experience was able to retro fit this water heater into the existing hole with larger door in an afternoon. Had a problem with the control board not communicating and after contacting support and sending a video of the problem, I received a new board, installed that and tested operation. Had hot water within a couple minutes of running water. Totally recommend this water heater and door!! service was great when I had a problem and will buy another if we ever change campers!! ... show more
