This set is built well from high quality materials. Very sturdy and easy to clean by hand or in the dishwasher. The only negative I can think of is that the markings inside the measuring tool is difficult to read. But I got used to it. Overall, I really like this mixing set.

Nice set, especially for the price. Quality strainer with a tight coil so seeds and pulp don’t sneak into your cocktail. Pro tip…put all ingredients into the small part of the shaker; otherwise you’ll overfill the large part and end up with liquid everywhere when you put the parts together!     • An excellent set, especially for the price
These are very well constructed shaker tins. Perhaps a little heavier and stiffer than some, but still very easy to work with. They seal tightly, and aren't too hard to separate after shaking - those are the two most important features for any set in my mind. The hawthorne strainer is beautifully constructed, with an incredibly tight coil. I fine strain most shaken drinks, but I have skipped it on occasion with this hawthorne, and can report that virtually no ice shards or pulp escape it. The coil is easily removed when necessary, for cleaning or for use in a bottle for thickening cream. The jigger is beautiful, but not my preferred style. Even so, it looks great sitting with all the other tools, and I do use it now and again. ... show more

Very high quality kit. It takes a little practice separating the cups, but if you are going to mix shaken cocktails, this is an excellent kit to have.

    • Solid seal - maybe too solid
Nice weight and feels solid in hand and while shaking. Very solid seal with even just a bit of ice - this normally should be a very high positive. However, I have trouble unsealing the two cups after completing the shake. I've used other Boston shakers and have not had this issue - a good smack to the side breaks the seal on these others and the cups come apart with a slight twist. These two stay completely sealed unless I squeeze the side of the larger cup to vent the vacuum and then I still have to force the smaller cup across the 'tilt' it makes with the larger cup in order to loosen the two from each other. This slows down the whole process and it definitely not as 'theatrical'. Because the seal is so good, I don't worry about splatter accidents, but I would like to have an easier unseal. ... show more
